This article focuses on paradoxical statements made by various public officials. When Hans Blix, the UN specialist, was coming to Iraq, after four years, to resume the search for hidden weapons of mass destruction, his bags were thoroughly searched at the airport. On being asked the reason, the airport officials replied that they need to search his bags, to make sure that he is not bringing some nuclear materials with him. Professor Milton Friedman, presented another paradoxical statement in context to the division between economic and civil freedom. Friedman cited the example of China and remarked that it is trying to bring economic freedom but has only succeeded in increasing communism in the country.
