Abstract

The article focuses on the findings of a population-based cross-sectional study that compared the effectivity of oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) with fasting plasma glucose (FPG) in diagnosing unknown diabetes in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), conducted in Spain. An OGTT was administered based on the recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO). The study found that the OGTT is 4 times more likely to diagnose unknown diabetes compared to the FPG.
