The article presents a biography of Robert Bartholow, a pioneer in the study of the effects of electrical current stimulation to the cortex in conscious human beings. He was born on November 28, 1931 in New Windsor, Maryland to Jeremiah and Pleasant Bartholow. Also discussed are his educational background, his stint as a medical staff in the U.S. Army, and his contributions to neurology.
