The electrical energy demand of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has been observing a surging growth due to high population growth and urbanization rate. The generation mostly comes from the burning of petroleum products. The electricity sector emits more than one-third of the national greenhouse gas (GHG) of the country. Thus, it is essential to reduce the GHG from the electricity generation sector to maintain sustainability. This article mainly concentrates on the existing electricity generation and focuses on the Kingdom’s GHG emissions mitigation initiatives. Although the use of natural gas and the number of cogeneration plants have been increased in electricity generation, the country has also been focusing on other initiatives, including the adaptation of combined cycle power plants, carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS), renewable and alternative energy sources, and various utility-scale energy efficiency measures. The ambitious and inspirational renewable energy (RE) targets of the Saudi Vision 2030 will significantly facilitate GHG emission avoidance, which will support the Kingdom to meet its Nationally Determined Contributions. This article recommends various mitigation measures, including the usage of the efficient internal combustion engine, poly-generation, combined heat and power (CHP) systems, deployment of renewable resources in the distribution and microgrid systems, bio-mass engine, and ocean thermal energy conversion plants. The decision-makers and the researchers will find the discussions and recommendations helpful in determining suitable and appropriate mitigation initiatives and technologies.

Radiation recall is characterized by an acute inflammatory reaction confined to previously irradiated areas that is triggered by the administration of precipitating systemic agents after radiation treatment. The most common responsible drugs are anticancer agents, but other drugs can also cause radiation recall including some antibiotics, antitubercular drugs, simvastatin can also cause radiation recall phenomenon. Background: Blood group is one of the major genetic risk factors for developing different types of malignancy throughout the world. Objectives: To find out the susceptible blood group in ABO and Rhesus systems in patients with malignancy. Methods and Materials: This study was one at KYAMCH cancer center, Enayetpur, Sirajganj, from October 2018 to February 2019. Total 150 cancer patients attending OPD were included irrespective of age, sex, socioeconomic status. ABO and Rhesus blood groups were determined in laboratory by standard methods. Results: Among 150 patients, 55% were female and 45% were male. Malignancy was predominant in the age group of41-50 years (25.3%) and 33.33% patients were found to have O blood group. Out of the patients, 98.7% had Rh positive of all blood groups of which 32% was belonged to blood group O. Metastasis was found among 34.66% patients and out of this 14.67% were having O blood group. Among 22 metastatic O blood group patients, 90.9% was Rh positive and 9.09% was Rh negative. Conclusion: Various types of malignancy are common among O positive blood group. This paper proposes an intelligent approach to detect and classify the power quality (PQ) events with the combination of machine learning and advanced signal processing techniques. It selects Stockwell transform, one of the efficient signal processing tools for feature extraction from the recorded signals. The extracted features are then fetched to one of the popular machine-learning tools, namely the artificial neural network (ANN), to develop the proposed intelligent PQ events detection and classification approach. This paper selects the hyper-parameters, e.g., number of hidden layer neurons, training algorithm, and activation functions through a systematic trial and error approach. To enhance the proposed approach performance, the weights and biases of the ANN are optimized using the grey wolf optimization (GWO) technique. Simulation results confirm the efficacy of the developed intelligent methodology in distinguishing PQ events from non-PQ events. Moreover, separates different PQ events, e.g., sag, swell, interruption, fluctuation, spike, notch, harmonics, from each other with reasonable accuracy. This research also investigates the efficacy of the proposed signal processing-based machine learning approach in the presence of measurement noises.

Malnutrition is the burning question all over the world’s public health. Bangladesh is one of those countries where level of malnutrition of infant and child is very serious and many problems that results from malnutrition in Bangladesh. The aim of this study is to substantiate whether there exists any influence of parents’ education for child nutrition as well as to find out the potential effects of non-parental household member’s literacy level on child malnutrition. In this study we have found that parents’ education is an important factor for child nutrition. Also other household members’ education has significant impact on stunting (height for age) and underweight (weight for age). The results of this study focus the policies that encourage participation in schools and higher education program as well as improve economic condition of the households to dilute child malnutrition in Bangladesh. Power plant systems are particularly valuable to the country as well to the society development breaches due to the highly require related to every person life through the use of power in the various form. With the growing interest of the Internet of Thing (IoT), optimal placement of sensor in the area of large scale is a big issue to save node energy thereafter enhancing network lifetime. One of the main reasons to consume the network energy drastically by activating all the participate nodes unnecessary due to lack of energy making policy. The simulation data was collected through internet and extensive work has done based on maintenance and construction protocol. Gaussian node energy distribution model was proposed for monitoring plant. For result analysis two types of performance matrices were measured data.

The growing rate of cybercrime has turned into a crucial concern that makes people more afraid of cyberwar than a nuclear weapon and climate change. An alarming awareness level has been observed in this study which is not satisfactory. A significant percentage of the population is unaware of cybersecurity policies and practices. Even the relevant organizations, as well as the government, are not concerned about the issues of cybercrime. A significant variation is essential to enrich the cybersecurity policies and practices. Furthermore, it needs to be monitored and restructured with the pace of time. This pilot study is designed to consider a comprehensive investigation regarding the level of cybercrime awareness amongst Bangladeshi people. The survey has been carried out through both the online and offline responses against a wellprepared questionnaire. Additionally, T-test, mean score and ANOVA tests were accompanied for detailed analysis. Based on this study, it is recommended that the development and implementation of a massive cybersecurity awareness program are urgently required that would immune the citizens from cyber threats.

In this study, wind data of different location of Bangladesh has been analyzed collected from Local Government Engineering Department (LGED). From some analyses, Kuakata sea region has been selected as proper location for establishing wind power system. Through proper investigation it has been tried to find out the way for developing sustainable wind energy system which is to be developed in the coastal area of Bangladesh. Besides it has been analyzed different turbines and found which is better for a particular location. It has been observed that to provide a sustainable wind energy system, a minimum wind velocity of 4 m/sec is needed for specific turbine. Diesel generator has been used to supply deficiency of wind system during lower wind flow. Besides, converter and battery have been set up to store excess power. All of the theoretical endeavours have been observed through simulation. World renowned software named ‘Homer’ has been used for simulation. Using this software sensitivity analysis and optimization have been accomplished. Through all these efforts it has been tried to propose how to set up optimum wind power system.

This article describe the treatment of a boy of 15 years old, with Class I malocclusion and anterior crowding and rotated upper right central incisor. The patient had thick and fleshy extra labial frenum between upper right central and lateral incisor. The patient had also rotated supernumerary tooth labial to upper right lateral incisor. We describe the treatment of an adolescent girl, age 13 years old, with Class III malocclusion withnmultiple unerupted teeth in both jaw & retained deciduous teeth. Treatment consists mainly of correction of anterior crossbite, extraction of deciduous teeth, surgical exposure of unerupted teeth &orthodontic traction to help eruption, leveling and alignment with Edgewise fixed appliances with multiloop technique. Treatment time required 3years. However the treatment resulted in Class I molar occlusion with proper alignment of upper & lower anterior segment, an ideal overjet, overbite andincisor angulations.Ban J Orthod & Dentofac Orthop, April 2013; Vol-3, No.2

Intimate partners’ violence has harmful effect on child immunization. There is evidence regarding a relation between intimate partners’ violence against women and immunization status of their children. To investigate this relation in Bangladesh, the data extracted from Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS) in 2007 is used and information from 1969 children’s mother selected from intimate partners’ violence module is utilized in this study. The analyses reveal that more than half of children’s mother experienced intimate partners’ violence and a considerable proportion of children aged 12-59 months are found not to be fully immunized. Coupling Circuits (CCs) and Line Traps (LTs) are the two most important elements of PLC-integrated power system networks. CCs are used for selectively injecting PLC signals into the network, whereas the LT is used to restrict the PLC signal from entering into areas of the network where such signals may damage equipment. In this paper, a Butterworth filter based CC and a T-type LT circuit have been modelled, simulated and evaluated. The objective was to design power systems complaint coupling and line trap circuits to operate within the CENELEC frequency band. The key finding is that sufficient performance can be achieved in terms of the insertion loss profile of the CC and LT when such circuits are designed using commercially available off-the-shelf components. For the designed CC, the insertion loss was measured as −3 dB in the 55 kHz to 100 kHz range. For the LT circuit, the insertion loss was measured as more than −53 dB. This ensures low attenuation of the PLC signal by the CC, and high attenuation by the LT.

In modern era digital devices are the part and parcel in everyday life. Easy access to internet across the globe has totally changed the pattern of life. Web has become the main source of acquiring knowledge and information. Email is replacing the postal mail system. Use of computer is a mandatory from primary education sector to government level enterprise. Facebook, twitter, whatsapp, viber are becoming main way to social communication. All these developments made life of people easier and comfortable but at the same time crimes associated with technologies have also emerged especially in a developing country like Bangladesh. Cybercrime has become a vital issue. This study conveys an in-depth survey about the awareness of cybercrime amongst the people of Bangladesh. Both online and offline version of the survey were created to conduct this study. The study finds that there is a patchy awareness level and it is not satisfactory. The general people are unaware of standard practices for cybersecurity. The government and respective organizations is not vibrant regarding cybercrime related issues. A proper guideline is required. Also it needs to be updated on timely manner. Additionally, Pearson's Chi-squared test was conducted for in-depth analysis. Finally, it can be said that there exists an urgency to implement a prototype for cybersecurity to combat with cyber threats.

Background: Treatment of comminuted intra-articular fractures of distal radius by external fixator is an important. Objective: The aim of study was to investigate the usefulness of external fixator as a treatment option for displaced comminuted intra-articular fractures of distal radius. Methodology: This case series was conducted in the Department of orthopaedic Surgery at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College& Hospital, Dhaka during the period of November 2011 to July 2013. All the patients having comminuted intra-articular distal radial fractures were being treated with mini uniaxial external fixator under brachial plexus block. The average follow up was performed in about 6 month. Result: A total number of fifteen patients were enrolled for this study. The mean age with SD was 50.21±9.473. Patient outcomes were measured by modified Knirk and Jupiter score and were categorized as satisfactory and unsatisfactory groups. In this study satisfactory outcome was found in 86.0%. All fractures (100.0%) were united nicely. Few complications were encountered. Postoperative osteoarthritis was not found during follow up. Conclusion: The use of external fixator for treating the comminuted intra-articular distal radial fractures produces satisfactory result. This study examines the relationships between rural to urban migration status and household living conditions, using the 2007 Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS) data. The analysis finds significant living condition advantage of rural-urban migrants and urban natives over rural-natives, primarily linked to migration selectivity by education and occupation. Once the independent effects of education and occupation are controlled, association between migration status and living conditions remain significant but living condition advantage of rural-urban migrants and urban natives over rural natives fall down. The results imply that promoting higher education and opportunities for employment outside the agricultural or labour sectors (pull factor) are more likely to yield improved living conditions in Bangladesh.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/dujs.v60i2.11529 Dhaka Univ. It is well established that intimate partner violence (IPV) against women adversely affects maternal morbidity and mortality. But a limited number of studies were found in the literature regarding the association between IPV and under-five child mortality. In this article, using Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS) 2007 data, we examined the effect of IPV on under-five child mortality. A product-limit approach was used for bivariate survival analysis, and Cox proportional hazard multiple regression models were used to investigate the effect of IPV controlling potential confounders. In bivariate analysis, the variables exposure to IPV, mother’s age at birth, mother’s education, residence type, division, number of children, wealth index, occupation, access to media, and decision autonomy were found to be potential risk factors for child mortality. Results indicated that women exposed to IPV were more likely to experience under-five child mortality compared with women not exposed. The unadjusted hazard ratio for IPV was 1.21 (95% confidence interval [CI] = [1.09, 1.35]) with p value < .01, whereas it was 1.16 (95% CI = [1.04, 1.29]) with p value < .01 and 1.13 (95% CI = [1.01, 1.26]) with p value < .05 in two adjusted models. These results implied that IPV against women is a problem not only for women but also for their children’s survival.
