Chirality is an essential consideration in the field of life sciences and pharmaceutical industry because most biomolecules and pharmaceuticals are chiral, and optical rotation measurement is a simple and efficient means for identification, purity test and content detection of chiral materials. However, there are some drawbacks in existing methods, such as small measurement range, non-real-time performance, low measurement accuracy and resolution. This paper presents a novel system to implement optical rotation measurement, and pixelated polarization cameras and Stokes parameters are employed in the system. The polarization information of linearly polarized incident light can be recorded and extracted by a pixelated polarization camera and Stokes parameters respectively. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed system has the necessary advantages for optical rotation measurement, such as real time, wide range ( − 90 ° to + 90 °), high accuracy ( 1 × 1 0 − 4 °) and high resolution ( ± 6 × 1 0 − 6 °). Thus, this measurement system has great practical prospects in the hospital clinical diagnosis, chemical research, sugar production and pharmaceutical industry.

This journal article describes main results of the OECD Annual Report published in 2018, titled “Review and evaluation of agricultural policy in 2017” for 51 selected countries in the world, including Vietnam. The report is closely prepared by MARD and OECD experts. The journal article emphasizes more on Vietnam by updating and adjusting data, information and policies in 2017 and 2018. The description presents the changing trend of agricultural policies applied in the world, considering whether this trend is in the direction of achieving sustainable productivity growth, environmental protection, and adaptation to climate change. On average in the last 20 years, trend of world policies has been better but far to catch above purposes. The development of international trade has made the commodity movement more freely and price gaps narrowed between countries and regions. This trend made agricultural markets developed more toward reflecting the scarcity of good and services. Average level of total agricultural supports has been reducing. Consequently, the world price indices and the total support have been converted between countries and commodities. However, the total agricultural support reduction is mainly in developed countries like OECD countries. Emerging and developing countries have increased their agricultural supports. Relative to GDP, the level of the total agriculture support in Vietnam has been reducing. Inside the total agricultural support, producer supports accounted 78% while general service support accounted only for 14%. Inside the producer support, market price support accounted for more than 50% in many countries. Payments based on outputs and inputs also accounted more than 50% in many countries. In Vietnam, the producer support is very small, negative level in 2015 and 2016 and became positive in 2017 and 2018. The agricultural producer support in 2017 is about 900 million USD. In the overall service support, many countries mainly invest in infrastructure construction, for example in Japan and Vietnam over 70%, while investments in other items are too small, for example that in Vietnam is only about 16%. In conclusion, OECD suggests that market price support should be reduced and finally eliminated. Similarly, output and input payments should be reduced and eliminated. Future policies should focus on general support service that helps producers to achieve sustainable productivity growth in the context of a changing and uncertain climate. OECD especially emphasizes on appropriate investments in research, together with efforts to ensure that the outputs of this research reach farmers. OECD also emphasizes on research that help producers to better manage risks including business risk, weather risk, and climate changes. Agricultural production and climate changes are strongly interacted. Future research should be the better co-operation between public and private sectors with the leading role of public sector. The future research should be co-operated more strongly between countries and regions because of the differences in histories, cultures, geology and climate.

Recently, accelerating beam is becoming a hotspot in optics research. In this paper, we studied the evolving phases of accelerating generalized polygon beams (AGPBs) and proposed a novel method to generate this beam family. An important discovery has been made about reconstructing AGPBs only by evolving low-frequency phases in high power region, which confirms the dominant role of phase terms in the AGPBs' evolution. We also succeeded controlling the size and quantity of AGPB's intensity peaks in an easy and direct manner by manipulating the evolving phases in low frequency. This result not only explains the self-healing property of AGPBs but also confirms that AGPBs can be a great candidate to function as an optical tweezer to trap and free microparticles and microcreatures for certain purpose.

In this paper, we numerically studied the intensity patterns and screw phases of an embedded optical vortex in an Airy beam generated by a 3/2 phase pattern imposed on a spatial light modulator. It is found that the optical vortex and the Airy beam's main lobe approach each other during propagation, which means the energy of the Airy beam's intensity peaks can be taken advantage of by the imposed vortices. Based on a pixelated micropolarizer array in the interference path, we succeeded in measuring the integer topological charges up to -10 according to the phase jump. In addition, fractional topological charges were also obtained in the experiment. Both of the experimental results are acquired in a high-precision and robust way. This work will promote potential application of Airy-vortex beams in fields such as optical manipulation, laser processing, and photon entanglement.

The special spiral phase structure of an optical vortex leads to an intriguing study in modern singular optics. This paper proposes a real-time phase measurement method of vortex beam based on pixelated micropolarizer array (PMA). Four phase-shifting fringe images can be obtained from a single interference image, thus the vortex beam phase can be obtained in real-time. The proposed method can achieve full-field phase measurement of the vortex beam with the advantages of lower computation and vibration resistance. In the experiments, the typical phases of vortex with different topological charges are loaded on a spatial light modulator (SLM) to generate diffraction vortex beam, and the phase distribution of vortex beam is obtained in real-time, which confirm the robustness of this method. This method is of great significance in promoting the study of optical vortices.

This paper presents a source synchronous receiver data lane design in 65nm CMOS process. The data lane circuit consists of a pre-amplifier which can compensate over 8dB channel loss and a half-rate digital CDR based on phase-interpolator. The CDR bandwidth is programmable by using a digital FIR filter. This design uses variable offset amplifier technology to increase sensitivity of the receiver. And a common-mode level shift function is implemented in order to increase the bandwidth of the pre-amplifier. The area for one data channel without ESD and PAD is 0.05 mm^2 and power consumption is 35mw for 1.2V supply.

Concentrating the concept of a beam-down solar tower with linear Fresnel heliostat (PLCF) is one of the feasible choices and has great potential in reducing spot size and improving optical efficiency. Optical characteristics of a PLCF system with the hyperboloid reflector are introduced and investigated theoretically. Taking into account solar position and optical surface errors, a Monte Carlo ray-tracing (MCRT) analysis model for a PLCF system is developed and applied in a comparison-based study on the optical performance between the PLCF system and the conventional beam-down solar tower system with flat and spherical heliostats. The optimal square facet of linear Fresnel heliostat is also proposed for matching with the 3D-CPC receiver.

This paper describes a 6.4Gb/s data lane circuit in 65nm CMOS process. The data lane circuit consists of an offset cancellation continuous time linear equalizer and a half-rate digital CDR; the CDR bandwidth is programmable by using a digital FIR filter. A common-mode level shift function is implemented in order to use NMOS input CML circuit. The design can compensate over 8 dB channel loss with offset-calibrated and low noise. The area for one data lane is 0.045 µm2 and power consumption is 24.5mW for 1.2V supply.

RBD-Tree is a spatial index structure which is independent on storage device, and therefore the update method of the index tree based on the RBD-Tree according to read and write characteristics of NAND is optimized, and focuses on design and implementation of a new map format.

Objectives To analyse the relationship between 24 h-urine protein level and serum aldosterone concentration in aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA) patients. Methods Data of 32 APA patients who were confirmed by postoperative pathological diagnose were collected in the hypertension department of the people9s hospital of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region form June 2006 to March 2010. The patients were divided into three groups according to the tertile of serum aldosterone concentration (≤14.95 ng/dl, 14.96 ng/dl–24.71 ng/dl and ≥24.72 ng/dl). The 24 h-urine protein level of three groups were compared. Furthermore, the relationship between 24 h-urine protein level and serum aldosterone concentration were analysed. Results 1. An English literature screening about case-control trials with regard to TNF-α (-308G/A) or IL-6 (174G/C) polymorphisms and lung cancer susceptibility was performed on PubMed, EMBASE, and EBSCO until November 2012. The pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated using STATA 11.0. Sensitivity analysis was performed by sequential omission of individual studies. Publication bias was evaluated by Egger’s linear regression test and funnel plots. Eight eligible studies, including 1,690 patients and 1,974 controls, were identified in this meta-analysis. Compared with the control, no significant association was revealed between TNF-α-308G/A (GG + GC vs. CC: OR = 1.10, 95% CI: 0.73 to 1.64; GG vs. GC + CC: OR = 1.02, 95% CI: 0.81 to 1.27; GC vs. CC: OR = 1.13, 95% CI: 0.73 to 1.77; GG vs. CC: OR = 1.04, 95% CI: 0.80 to 1.36; G vs. C: OR = 1.03, 95% CI: 0.90 to 1.18) or IL-6 174G/C (GG + GC vs. CC: OR = 1.10, 95% CI: 0.73 to 1.64; GG vs. GC + CC: OR = 1.02, 95% CI: 0.81 to 1.27; GC vs. CC: OR = 1.13, 95% CI: 0.73 to 1.77; GG vs. CC: OR = 1.04, 95% CI: 0.80 to 1.36; G vs. C: OR = 1.03, 95% CI: 0.90 to 1.18) and lung cancer risk.
