В настоящем исследовании впервые рассмотрена статья известного осетинского публициста, писателя Ахмеда Тембулатовича Цаликова «Мотивы поэзии Коста», опубликованная в эмигрантском журнале «Кавказский горец». В публикации А. Цаликова, посвященной 18-летней годовщине со дня смерти К.Л. Хетагурова, представлен анализ магистральных стихотворений из сборника поэта «Ирон фæндыр»: «Додой», «Ракæс», «Ныфс», «Сидзæргæс» и др. Исследуя поэтическое творчество К.Л. Хетагурова, А. Цаликов обращается к русскоязычным переводам стихотворений, большинство из которых выполненных самим автором публикации. Буквальное переложение А. Цаликовым стихотворений К.Л. Хетагурова на русский язык не позволяло нам анализировать переводные тексты по канонам поэтического перевода. Стихотворения, лишенные формообразующих средств – ритма, рифмы, местами строфики, анализировались по уровню адекватной передачи общего смысла исходного текста, лексических средств с национально-культурным компонентом в основе, в их числе междометия, идиоматические выражения, по степени сохранения А. Цаликовым в единицах переводах прагматического потенциала. В ходе анализа данных произведений нами установлены основные переводческие принципы, доминирующие при передаче единиц с национально-культурной семантикой; выявлено, что А. Цаликов использует смысловую замену, дефразеологизацию, описательно-разъяснительный перевод, опущение (элиминацию). В некоторых русскоязычных переводах стихотворений К. Хетагурова переводчик старался сохранить синтаксический строй оригинала, есть попытка придать ритм, рифмовать окончания строк, для чего используется инверсия (стих.-е «Æнæ хай»). «Объяснение» смысла некоторых лексем вынуждало А. Цаликова прибегать к нарушению лаконичности единиц перевода. Переводы А. Цаликова, естественно, не являются образцами переводческого мастерства. Труд переводчика ценен своей попыткой познакомить иноязычного читателя с творчеством гения осетинской литературы. This study is the first to consider the article by the well-known Ossetian publicist, writer Akhmed Tembulatovich Tsalikov "Motives of Kosta's Poetry", published in the émigré magazine "Caucasian Highlander". In A. Tsalikov's publication dedicated to the 18th anniversary of the death of K.L. Khetagurov, an analysis of the main poems from the poetic collection "Iron fandyr" is presented: "Dodoy", "Rakæs", "Nyfs", "Sidzærgæs" and others. Analysing Khetagurov’s poetry A. Tsalikov refers to the Russian-language translations of the poems, most of which were made by the author of the publication himself. A. Tsalikov's literal arrangement of the poems by K.L. Khetagurova into Russian did not allow us to analyze translated texts according to the canons of poetic translation. Poems, devoid of formative means - rhythm, rhyme, sometimes stanza, were analyzed according to the level of adequate transmission of the general meaning of the original text, lexical means with a national-cultural component at the base, including interjections, idiomatic expressions, according to the degree of preservation by A. Tsalikov in translation units of the pragmatic potential. In the course of the analysis, we have established the basic translation principles that dominate in the transfer of units with national and cultural semantics; it was revealed that A. Tsalikov uses semantic substitution, defraseologization, descriptive and explanatory translation, omission (elimination). In some Russian-language translations of K. Khetagurov's poems, the translator tried to preserve the syntactic structure of the original, with the aim of giving rhythm, rhyme line endings, for which inversion is used. “Explaining” the meaning of some lexemes forced A. Tsalikov to resort to breaking the brevity of translation units. A. Tsalikov's translations, of course, are not examples of translation skills. The work of the translator is valuable for his attempt to acquaint a foreign language reader with the work of the genius of the Ossetian literature.

Teaching Russian as a foreign language (RFL) to non-philological students has been an active area of ​​research for the past several decades. The number of students studying Russian is constantly growing due to the growing role of the Russian language in the academic environment and the development of international relations. The ultimate goal of teaching Russian for foreign students Non-philological students should be fluent in Russian (first of all, in a certain discipline), express their thoughts, understand interlocutors, reproduce and interpret verbally and in writing information obtained from printed and audio sources. Professional Russian for students of non-philological universities is not only a means of mastering a future profession. classes, but also the ability to competently communicate in a professional environment and easily adapt to constantly changing working conditions. Aim: To select new items for a new Russian language version of the DS14-RU scale and to assess the reliability and validity of the new Russian-language version of the questionnaire.Materials and methods: A total of 929 subjects were recruited into the study, including 496 (53.4%) patients with coronary heart disease, 195 (21.0%) patients with chronic heart failure, 84 (9.0%) patients with arterial hypertension, and 154 (16.6%) healthy volunteers. 565 (60.8%) of the participants were men and 364 (39.2%) women. Their age ranged from 21 to 90 years (mean±SD 57.5±12.7 years). The respondents completed the extended and the new DS version, as well as the HADS, MSPSS, RSI, and STPI questionnaires.Results: The prevalence of type D personality by the DS14-RU scale among the patients with cardiovascular diseases was 21.4% and among healthy participants 20.0%. The new DS14-RU version had high internal consistency, with the Cronbach's alpha for the negative affectivity (NA) and social inhibition (SI) subscales of 0.80. The twofactor structure of the DS14-RU was confirmed by and exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, with χ2 /df, CFI, TLI, IFI, and RMSEA indices for the two-factor solution being 4.7, 0.90, 0.88, 0.90 and 0.069, respectively. It was found that the NA scale was positively correlated with HADS anxiety score, STPI trait anxiety score, HADS depression and STPI depression scores, as well as with RSI psychosocial stress score. Similar but less strong correlations were found for the SI scale. There was also a negative correlation with curiosity and a positive correlation with aggressiveness, as personality traits assessed by STPI.Conclusion: The new Russian-language version of the DS14-RU questionnaire generally corresponds to the English-language version in terms of the reliability and internal structure of the scale. The construct validity of the questionnaire has been confirmed by the results of correlation analysis. Thus, the technique can be used to identify the type D personality.

В последнее время университеты все чаще рассматриваются в качестве драйверов регионального экономического развития. В данном исследовании проанализирована краткосрочная академическая мобильность студентов как фактор интернационализации высшего образования. Количество иностранных студентов (International Student Ratio) - это значимый показатель в глобальных рейтингах университетов. поэтому вузы, стремящиеся улучшить свои позиции на мировом образовательном рынке, активно реализуют программы привлечения иностранных студентов. Краткосрочные образовательные программы академической мобильности характеризуются большой гибкостью, что позволяет удовлетворить широкий спектр потребностей и интересов потенциальных студентов. В июле 2019 г. авторами проведен опрос среди индийских студентов (n = 65), участвующих в программах краткосрочной международной академической мобильности в Уральском федеральном университете (Екатеринбург, Россия). Основная цель эмпирического исследования - изучение роли краткосрочных образовательных программ, реализуемых региональным университетом, в социоэкономическом развитии региона, а также ценности краткосрочной академической мобильности индийских студентов в реализации жизненных стратегий. Выявлены проблемы, препятствующие эффективной реализации краткосрочных образовательных программ в вузах. Результаты исследования показали, что реализация международных образовательных программ ведет к прямым и косвенным экономическим преимуществам и выгодам (иностранные студенты выступают источником дохода и потенциальным актором международного сотрудничества региона). Материалы опроса индийских студентов свидетельствуют о том, что, во-первых, российское образование повышает статусные позиции иностранного студента, способствует успешному карьерному продвижению и становится «мягкой силой» в выстраивании дальнейших международных связей и отношений; во-вторых, знакомство с системой высшего образования формирует потребность продолжить обучение в магистратуре российского университета, укрепляя статус региона и стимулируя платежеспособный спрос на образовательные услуги. Universities are increasingly seen as drivers of regional economic development. In this research, we undertook an analysis of the short-term academic mobility of university students as a factor in the internationalisation of higher education. The number of foreign students (International Student Ratio) attracted from across the world is an important metric in all global university rankings. As a result, universities aiming to improve their positions in the global educational market are actively implementing programmes to attract foreign students. Short-term educational programmes of academic mobility are characterised by a high level of flexibility in terms of management, thus being capable of meeting a wide range of needs and interests of potential students. In July 2019, we conducted a survey among Indian students (n = 65) participating in short-term international academic mobility programmes at the Ural Federal University (Ekaterinburg, Russia). The main goal of the empirical research was to investigate students’ motivational structure of participation in academic mobility and the role of such programmes in the implementation of students’ life plans. In addition, barriers to the effective implementation of short-term educational programmes at universities were revealed. According to the research results, Russian education is a status characteristic for Indian students, which allows them to gain important socio-cultural and communicative competencies, as well as to build professional trajectories in a foreign country. The respondents expressed willingness to continue their education in Russia as part of Master’s degree educational programmes. Among the main barriers and challenges, the respondents mentioned poor knowledge of the Russian language and financial difficulties. This article describes a psychological portrait of the digital generation and characterizes the modern students’ typical traits that relate to their cognitive and personal development, communication patterns, and new cultural practices. The author employs the methods of theoretical analysis and generalizing the results of relevant academic sources, as well as the method of extrapolation — the transfer of their conclusions about the Generation Z onto teaching the Russian language. Special attention is paid to the mental processes and phenomena that have been most affected by the spread of digital technology: cognition, memory, semantic reading and understanding, as well as speech. The author discusses the following phenomena: clip thinking, transactive memory, and transformations of speech development. The results show how the new opportunities and risks of digitalization create new problems in teaching the Russian language, in particular. In addition, the author provides the exemplary assignments aimed at the development of systemic thinking, memory, and speech.

Aurora OS is a POSIX-compatible mobile Linux distribution designed for enterprise and business purposes. The main application area of devices based on Aurora OS is corporations in Russia. For example, such devices are used by field workers to receive tasks and send reports. The reports are generated by filling out complex forms with a large number of input fields and options to choose from. Speech recognition allows to significantly speed up this process. Aurora OS has no built-in tools to implement such functions, so developers of software for field workers need to use a third-party solution. There are several voice recognition engines for POSIX-compatible systems, but only those that support the Russian language, can work locally on devices, and have a free license are suitable for the task. The only solution for the task that meets the criteria is the Kaldi engine. However, it depends on libraries implemented using Fortran, and Aurora OS does not support this programming language. Therefore, it was necessary to develop a way to use software implemented in Fortran in an environment that does not have a native support for it. This paper proposes an approach for solving such a problem, which can be applied to all similar cases.

The paper discusses the linguistic impact of Brexit on the Russian-language Internet discourse as this event has generated a myriad of neologisms in English. The present study aims to identify the composition of Brexit-induced neologisms whose source word is -exit and to describe the features of the reception of the analyzed units at the morphological and word-formation levels in the Russian-speaking segment of the Internet. The subject of the research is an assimilation of the Brexit model in the Russian language. The findings of this study indicate that the features of the reception of -exit derivatives in the Russian language were revealed in the aspect of the morphemization of the -exit component.

The pragmatic coherence of stimulating and reactive messages in the Russian blog discourse is based on an open list of conceptual structures of a specific type, namely frames that project unison in the current interaction. It is proved that these frames are the essential parameter of the linguistic competence of representatives of virtual communities and are used by the initiator of communication and its respondents to reach agreement and find a common denominator for the initially conflicting points of view. Their implementation in computer-mediated communication is predetermined by both the formal capabilities of the Russian lexical and grammatical systems (discursive indicators), and the linguistic and cultural conventions that the interlocutors adhere to at one or another stage of joint deployment of the blog discourse. The initiator of connectivity is the respondent (including the blogger in the respondent function) during the construction of a responsive message. The pragmatic structure of these frames includes a foothold in the stimulating message and a staple that connects to this foothold in the reactive message. The elementary structural and semantic unit of the blog text, in which the unison in the opinions of the interlocutors is realized, is the dictative and modus unity of two directly adjacent or remote from each other stimulating and reactive messages. When designing a stimulating message, the blogger chooses dictal or modal propositions that best match his initial intention to establish feedback with a potentially wide range of like-minded respondents. Perceiving the blogger’s judgments, delving into the topic offered to them for discussion, respondents recognize the propositional content of these judgments, their dictative or modus predestination, as well as the goals pursued by the initiator of the interaction.

В статье рассматриваются инновационные словообразовательные процессы в интернет-текстах, появление новых производных слов, новых аффиксов, словообразовательных моделей и способов словообразования. На примере нескольких неологизмов в статье показаны как возможности интернет-словотворчества, так и возможности изучения функционирования новообразований в интернет-коммуникации. Using several neologisms as an example, the article shows both the possibilities of Internet word-making process and the possibilities of studying a newly established work through Internet communication. The words selected for analysis can be attributed to the keywords of the current time. This article describes the issues of teaching Russian language and literature, information technology, their content, their use in teaching science, and through it to achieve effectiveness in the classroom. In addition, in the final lessons of literature, I use excerpts from feature films, performances of the studied works. The proposed article is an analysis of the Russian-language creative heritage of the Karachay-Balkar public figure Misost Abaev, whose publicism introduced the Russian reader to the life of the mountain society during its integration into the Russian Empire, and also contained a historical excursion into the past of the people, told about their life, culture, and worldview. The author focuses on the study of a number of topical topics revealed by the publicist in the Caucasian periodicals, on the solutions he offers to acute social issues. The article presents the results of the analysis of the experiments of M. Abaev's creation of literary texts (stories "Mountain Legend", "At the grave of Islam", obituary-essay), where the publicist revealed another aspect of his work – the bright personality of the narrator. The work of M. Abaev is first considered in the context of popular ideas that spread in the Caucasus in the last quarter of the XIX century, the influence of these ideas on the state of mountain society.

The article is devoted to the problem of preparation for TORFL-II/B2 of foreign students in order to form their communicative skills in all spheres of communication. Interest in this issue is due to the need to improve the effectiveness of teaching Russian language to foreign students to obtain bachelor’s and master’s degrees and also for admission to graduate school in all specialties. The article highlights the problematic points and gives recommendations for conducting exam preparation classes. The assignments were grouped by topics and assignment numbers from the test. The article has a practical focus and can be useful in the practice of teaching Russian to foreigners. The article focuses on the expression and use of the predicate.

This article describes the results of data filtering of electronic health records for patients diagnosed with aortic aneurysm in two different medical centers to prepare data for further feature extraction. The accuracy improvement of filtered data was achieved by using machine learning methods of classification and natural language processing methods, taking into account the specificity of Russian language. Based on accuracy and F-measure, two methods of data filtering were compared: 1) rule-based approach; 2) classification approach. The results show that the designed classification is appropriate in terms of accuracy for data filtering.

The work analyzes the semantic structure of stable comparisons with the “tree” component and its derivatives. We consider stable comparisons as special phraseological units - reproducible linguistic units with figurative comparative meaning. We show that different structural models of such phraseological units form some semantic unity – “comparative nest”. We draw a large number of contexts that illustrate typical situations of using stable comparisons with the “tree” component, we conclude that the formal variation of their figurative basis determines the variety of semantic nuances that are significant at the pragmatic level. The use of the analysis method of dictionary definitions and contextual analysis makes it possible, firstly, to significantly supplement and clarify the scientific results obtained by specialists in the field of cultural linguis-tics and cognitive linguistics, and secondly, to outline ways of systematizing Russian comparative phraseology, which occupies an important place in the expressive fund of Russian language. When considering the figurative and symbolic meanings grouped around the lexeme “tree”, it is important to distinguish between two interrelated meanings: “perennial plant” and “woody material, wood”. The system of meanings of stable comparisons of the Russian language with the “tree” component is based on the semantic features “hard”, “rigid”, “inelastic” that characterize the second meaning. In other words, the lexeme “tree” in Russian language is a representative not only of the plant, but also of the material code of culture.

Introduction: the article is devoted to the study of the development of books of poems as a major genre form in modern Russian-language poetry of Mordovia and fits into the complex of Russian literary studies concerning the peculiarities of the development of the Finno-Ugric literary process. In the course of the research, the typological features of a thematic and «final» book of poems are revealed; the poetological features of this genre in the works of the poets of Mordovia belonging to the «traditional» and «avant-garde» paradigm are analyzed. Objective: to analyze the main trends of the development of a book of poems in the literary process of Mordovia. Research materials: the poetry books by A. M. Sharonov «The Monologues» and S. Yu. Senichev «Grapes in Chocolate, or Compounding». Results and novelty of the research: the analysis of the modern Russian-language poetry of Mordovia has shown that today there are two ideological and artistic paradigms: «traditional» paradigm based on the experience of classical Russian poetry and «avant-garde» paradigm developing with the support of postmodern experiments. The diversity of poetic practices makes it possible to determine the ways of development of a book of poems in the poetic process of the republic. In the creative works of the poets of Mordovia two genre-specific forms, such as thematic and «final», are developing. Moreover, the traditional poets most often comprehend the problems concerning the preservation of the national identity of the Mordovian people. They poetically sum up the plots and images of national mythology and folklore. The genre form of a «final» book of poems allows the most representative to convey the scale of significant historical and sociocultural events of the era, as well as to present the author’s biography against the background of these events. The avant-garde poets, on the contrary, move away from national attributes. The associative and metaphorical principle of constructing a book of poems becomes more important for them, where along with the lyrical understanding of the world there is a philological game, intertextuality, and allusiveness. Through the techniques of literary play authors often express nostalgia for lost values. The analysis of the poetic of the books of poems by A. M. Sharonov and S. Yu. Senichev will allow not only to determine the features of their creative manner, but also to trace the ways and character of the development of modern Russianlanguage poetry in Mordovia as a whole.

Urogenital fistulas in women are an urgent problem in modern urology, gynecology and surgery. Several decades earlier, iatrogenic damage was the main reason for their development. The aim of this review was to analyze the etiology, characteristics and results of treatment of fistulas in women in Russia and the CIS countries. A systematic analysis of the articles in the PubMed and eLibrary databases dedicated to etiology, treatment technique and postoperative results of treatment of urogenital fistulas in women was carried out. The results were compared with European data. A total of 16 articles were selected over a 20-year period that met the inclusion criteria. Iatrogenic injury resulted in the fistula formation in 40.54% (373/920) of cases. The majority of fistulas were caused by radiation therapy (58.91%, 542/920). According to the results, 84.02% (773/920) of fistulas were successfully healed. Cure rate of patients with post-radiation fistulas was 75.83% (411/542). Comparison of surgical techniques was difficult, since in most cases the preference of the surgeon was main determinant factor.

The article is devoted to the consideration of teaching Russian to foreign students in the context of the growing popularity of the social network Instagram as an attractive learning environment that offers a variety of online services for Russian students. Particular attention is paid to foreign sites of the Russian language, which count from hundreds of thousands to a million or more views. This allowed, on the one hand, to identify the reasons for their relevance, and on the other hand, to reveal the underutilized potential of pedagogical discourse, which suggests 1) the human dimension of educational activity; 2) the attitude to the student as a person with his/her own project of selfdevelopment and 3) a certain epistemological position of the observer.

Due to the active changes in the social structure and position of women over the past hundred years, and also due to the gradual increase in the influence of the feminist movement on everyday culture, the gender aspect of sociolinguistic research is of particular interest. This work relates to gender linguistics, its purpose is to study speech behavior in Runet, demonstrating the potential of the language in solving the problem of gender asymmetry. The study was conducted on the material of the Russian-speaking blogosphere, as the most open field for language experiments, which has a significant impact on the language practices of the younger generations and the formation of modern culture. The article studies, describes and analyzes the syntactic, morphological, lexical and word-formation processes observed in Runet: syntactic violations that serve to give constructions gender marking, transformation of stable phrases, new and newly updated word-formation models, the use of neologisms-feminists. In addition, the article for the first time describes the gender gap - a new graphic phenomenon observed exclusively in the oral-written Internet discourse.

The article analyses the experience of implementing virtual reality (VR) in foreign language teaching, particularly teaching the Russian language in Chinese universities. Basing on different approaches and the results of applying VR in practical classes at the Russian Language Faculty of Sichuan University, the research on the effectiveness of VR technologies has been done in terms of stimulating Russian language learners motivation, enhancing their knowledge, strengthening their language capability, developing basic oral Russian, as well as improving the quality of teaching Russian in a non-native environment. The research subject is determined by the transformation of the educational process among students with a relatively good language capability. The novelty and actuality of the topic are due to the following factors. Firstly, it is modelling situations with real-world samples when the organizer of educational process makes it immersive by using computer and recordings. Secondly, auto-reading module can be used. Thirdly, the system can check the consistency between the original text and the one recognized by voice recognition module. The author reviews indicators of the experiment, aimed at assessing teaching results and summarizing the changes in knowledge acquiring with using VR technologies at the Russian Language Faculty of Sichuan University. According to the results of the survey, the author studies the pros and cons of the changes brought by VR and concludes the opinions of the tested students and teachers participating in the experiment. The results of the experiment illustrate changing roles of teachers and students. To be specific, the teacher is no longer a simple organizer, but a supervisor, assistant and consultant, playing a supporting role. Students gradually master the functions of training systems. It stimulates them to work independently under VR. This has been proved by the students results in the semester exam and the state accreditation test of translators. Besides, the statistical data are presented on the differences between the traditional model of language teaching and the one under VR.

The article considers the main approaches to expanding international cultural and humanitarian cooperation, ensuring educational, scientific and informational interaction between the Russian Federation and European countries through international educational expeditions. These events were held in 9 European countries for leaders, teachers and learning organizations engaged in educational activities under the main and (or) additional general educational programs, media representatives of the countries running the events. The article was prepared on the results of work under the project Conducting international educational expeditions aimed at the Russian language, literature, culture and Russian education popularization, implemented by the LLC JV Sodruzhestvo with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. The article describes the formats of events proposed in the framework of the educational expeditions project, including the features of an integrated approach to their development and implementation, which allowed to ensure high interest of the target audience, easy and effective uptake of content presented for them.

The author analyses the problems of changes in the representation of the body and the metamorphosis of corporeality in porn as a segment of the modern mass culture of the consumer society. The analysis of social mutations and cultural transformations of the body and corporeality in the porn discourse of pop culture is the main goal of the article. Methodologically, the author, on the one hand, uses the provisions of the comparative typological method proposed by Vladimir Propp. On the other hand, the text goes back to the structuralist concepts of Pjotr Bogatyrjov, proposed by him for the folklore comparative studies. Therefore, porn is defined and analysed as a form of folklore of the consumer society and mass culture. The author projects four features of the fairy tale, formulated by Vladimir Propp, into those cultural spaces where porn discourse dominates in the modern consumer society. The author analyses how “dumb” (or “silent”) corporeality in porn culture mutated and became “talking”. The author analyses the problems of combination and coexistence of corporeality and verbality in the modern Russian porn discourse. The author studies how the “body” in the porn segment of mass culture began to speak Russian, analysing why the political “message” of Russian “bodies” mutates inevitably into corporeality, returning to it constantly. The author also analyses the cultural contexts and the backgrounds of the body representativeness in modern Russian porn discourse. The author analyses interdependence of corporeality and political language, which the “body” uses in individual and collective contexts.

В статье рассматриваются приемы создания интертекстуальности в названиях глав энциклопедии русского языка «Глазарий языка» в плоскости анализа текста как культурного феномена. The article discusses the methods of creating intertextuality in the titles of the chapters of the Russian language encyclopedia «Glazary of the Language» in terms of text analysis as a cultural phenomenon.

The article addresses the problems of determining contextual synonyms and provides the results of the analysis of approaches to their automatic extraction from texts in the Russian language. Several approaches are proposed. These approaches are based on the use of linguistic algorithms to determine similar semantic-syntactic structures in texts and their combination with machine learning methods. The results from the application of the algorithms were analysed. The algorithms were based on morphological, syntactic, and semantic analysis of the text, filtering the results by keywords, and using various clustering tools. In the conclusion, the applicability of the implemented approaches was discussed, and the directions for the development of a combination of these approaches were determined.

The article considers the practicality and prospects of using obsolete spelling and punctuation contemporaneous with the period when the literary work was created in scholarly editions of Russian classics, for maximum conformity of the published text to the author’s intentions. In this regard, Barsht analyzes compatibility of such experimentations with the norms of contemporary Russian grammar with 19th-c. orthographic standards. The author examines the cultural role of scholarly editions, which supply authoritative versions of texts for reprints, translations, and textbooks for secondary schools and institutions of higher education. Another topic is the pragmatic function of punctuation marks, whose purpose changed dramatically in the early 20th c. From the viewpoint of textual criticism, the article also discusses the need for such a translation of a literary classic into the modern Russian language that is accurate and precise, and avoids violation of the author’s intentions. The questions are raised in response to the publication of vol. 8 of the Complete works by F. M. Dostoevsky in 35 vols. (The Idiot [Idiot]).

The paper deals with Sir Thomas Browne, a doctor of medicine, philosopher, and writer of the English Baroque. His legacy holds an enduring appeal for scholars and, more importantly, survives in English language and its literature. It is demonstrated that Browne’s prose played an important role in the shaping of English literature and language, and that his philosophical and scientific views were eclectic. As a separate topic, the article considers problems of translating his prose into other languages. Translations can be spot-on, as shown in the article, when a coincidence of the ‘time of culture’ (Popovich, Borges) between the original and the culture of the translation occurs. For translations into Russian, a problem arises due to the inconsistency (polyglossia) of the 17th-c. Russian language. The author provides a comparative analysis of Browne’s original essays and their Russian translation. She finds that V. Grigoriev’s translations of Browne’s diptych discourses rely on a complex historical stylization, use 18th-c. Russian language, and have proved themselves as a factor of cross-literary communication.

The aim of the work - to trace how such a fragment of the Russian linguistic picture of the world as ‘clothes’ is reflected in the everyday nominations of the story by N. Leskov. Methodology. Vocabulary of life is studied, naming types of clothing, which was revealed by the method of targeted sampling in the story of N. S. Leskov’s “Life of a Woman”, where a wide range of life problems of various social strata of Russia of the XIX century, above all the peasants, are touched upon. Classification, analysis of semantics of units with their nominative and evaluative potential with the help of historical, etymological dictionaries are relevant in assessing realistic authenticity of recreated pictures of life, necessary for understanding the stylistic role of nominations in displaying everyday life and traditions, are interesting in linguocultural terms. Results. Observation of the use of clothes’ names by a realist writer confirms the validity of the statement that things and clothes are important in revealing the images of characters: this fragment of the Russian language picture of the world is anthropocentric. Research implications. This leads to the practical significance of the article: observations can contribute to the understanding of the objects of the artistic space by foreign readers, including Chinese, used to clarify translations and create a language commentary to the text. The theoretical value is in deepening the idea of the author’s idiolect and his evolution.

The article discusses the Russian-language “migrant” groups in the social networking service “Vkontakte.” The author analyses mechanisms of constructing horizontal networks in these groups uniting Russian-speaking immigrants in the Russian Federation, their role in migration planning and solving everyday household, legal and moral problems. The article uses the language of describing mobility by J. Urry: we consider “migrant” digital platforms to be the space in which thematic network “nodes” are created, which allow accumulating the information resources of several horizontal networks needed to solve a particular current problem. The article also formulates a hypothesis about the existence of a “migrant” meta-network consisting of people who are part of migration flows, and who service or exploit them. We assume that the digital platforms under consideration significantly simplify the integration process by being a space that allows the formation of local, “thematic” nodes of the “migrant” meta-network that accumulate a social capital and information

The article describes a Russian-based novel interactive model of supporting languages and literary cultures. It has been designed by the Strategic Centre for the Development of Higher Education for Translators from Languages of the Russian Federation, founded at the Russian Academy of Education (RAE). This model has now been applied to Tuvan language.The model relies on a solidary effort by RAE representatives in the region. It covers six aspects and is implemented in four stages, each of which involves several of the aspects.During the face-to-face stage, a seminar was held at Tuvan State University in November 2019 to discuss some of contemporary prose and poetry in Tuvan, as well as recordings of folklore recitals. The seminar heralded in a comprehensive methodology of supporting the literary culture of the region by means of Russian translations.The seminar can be seen as a starting point for further development of translation in the region. An in-depth analysis of the original texts and comparing them with translations proved that the methodology described is extremely useful in scrutinizing the depth and richness of Tuvan culture. Also in high demand is the mastery of Russian language in the region, and the full use of its stylistic and literary resources.

The aim of our work is to develop a software that could detect toxicity in the Russian segment of social media. In this paper, we investigated the problem of toxic detection in messages in Russian language. We implemented a set of features using selected vector models, trained some classifiers on the dataset about fourteen thousand annotated messages and compare results. Experiments were conducted with a calculation of accuracy, precision, and recall values. F1 measure reached the value 0.91, accuracy value is 0.87.

The article is devoted to the study and scientific description of the semantic features of foreign terms of the English-language origin in the modern Russian language. There are three main groups in terms of the degree of semantic development of borrowed lexemes that have entered modern Russian in the contemporary times. By the material of publicistic literature, Internet publications, explanatory, foreign and etymological dictionaries, an attempt is made to analyze the mechanisms of reception and adaptation of the English-language terminology. The semantic changes of Anglicisms leasing, detector, monitoring are investigated.
