Understanding how energy production technologies impact the natural environment, human health and safety leads to a more responsible outlook when choosing technologies to develop. Environmental protection becomes one of the most important factors when creating scenarios of energy growth and choosing appropriate technologies. One of the ways to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on environmental impact is to conduct an integrated analysis, which spans economic and technical factors, as well as facets worrying to society. This paper includes an analysis of how the value dimension impacts criteria of the analysis regarding the value factors of energy production technologies. The paper presents a set of criteria designed to evaluate energy production technologies. An expert solution support system EGTAV-SPS is presented, which helped evaluate the environmental impact of energy production technologies. This article presents a case study to demonstrate EGTAV-SPS in action using several energy technologies (different types of renewable energy). Because energy production and supply is a business without borders, the value dimension also covers cooperation and partnership with neighbouring countries. Multi-criterion models related to decisions about technological development invariably have to analyse the value dimension, which includes various societal factors that change the value of the utility function.
