Sepsis-induced cerebral injury is a systemic inflammatory response associated with high mortality rate and cognitive impairment. Rho/ROCK pathway activation is involved in initiating the inflammatory response and promoting cerebral dysfunction. The present study explored the beneficial effects of ROCK inhibitors in sepsis-induced cerebral injury and cognitive impairment in rats. The model of sepsis was established by employing cecal ligation and puncture (CLP). CLP significantly augmented cerebral injury assessed in terms of intensified activity of caspases-3 and decrease in BCL-2 in the brain along with the release of S100β and NSE, and assessed on day 7. Significant increase in inflammatory biomarkers IL-1β and TNF-α as well as increase in the protein levels of ROCK1 and ROCK2 was observed in the brain. A significant decrease in learning and memory ability was observed because of increased escape latency time on day 4 and significant decrease in time spent in the target quadrant on day 7 in CLP-subjected rats. Administration of nonselective ROCK inhibitor, fasudil (10 and 30 mg/kg), and selective ROCK1 inhibitor, Y27632 (10 and 30 mg/kg), attenuated the sepsis-induced increase in the S100β and NSE, IL-1β, TNF-α, BCL-2, caspase-3, ROCK1 and ROCK2 in septic rats and significantly memory and learning. The beneficial effects of Y27632 and fasudil were comparable suggesting the key role of ROCK1 in sepsis-induced deleterious effects. It may be concluded that sepsis may increase cerebral and cognitive injury through Rho-kinase/ROCK pathway in septic rats, and ROCK inhibitors may be potentially employed to overcome sepsis-induced deleterious effects in the brain.

Important aspects of brain information processing can be understood by examining decoding of visual stimuli from neuronal response signals. In this research, the luminance information is decoded from the local field potential signal in the optic tectum region of the pigeon. We designed a luminance visual stimulus model with transient flicker characteristics, recorded multichannel local field potential (LFP) signals using a microelectrode array, extracted LFP Fourier transform energy and phase features, constructed a multivariate linear inverse filter luminance information decoding algorithm, and evaluated decoding effects using a cross-correlation method. We found that LFP signal phase decoding of luminance information yielded better effects than amplitude decoding of luminance information. In the case of optimal frequency band, channels, delay time, and other parameters, the results of phase and amplitude codecoding could reach 0.94±0.02. Comparing the differences between neuronal spike decoding and LFP decoding, we found that LFP signal phase and amplitude codecoding resulted in luminance closer to that of the actual stimulus and required fewer decoding electrode channels.

The process of long-distance hot oil pipeline is complicated, and its safety and optimization are contradictory. In actual production and operation, the theoretical calculation model of oil temperature along the pipeline has some problems, such as large error and complex application. This research relies on actual production data and uses big data mining algorithms such as BP neural network, ARMA, seq2seq to establish oil temperature prediction model. The prediction result is less than 0.5 C, which solves the problem of accurate prediction of dynamic oil temperature during pipeline operation. Combined with pigging, the friction prediction model of standard pipeline section is established by BP neural network, and then the economic pigging period of 80 days is given; and after the friction database is established, the historical friction data are analyzed by using the Gauss formula, and 95% of the friction is set as the threshold data to effectively monitor the variation of the friction due to the long period of waxing in pipelines. The closed loop operation system of hot oil pipeline safety and optimization was formed to guide the daily process adjustment and production arrangement of pipeline with energy saving up to 92.4%. The prediction model and research results based on production big data have good adaptability and generalization, which lays a foundation for future intelligent control of pipelines.

Despite considerable advances in tissue engineering over the past two decades, solutions to some crucial problems remain elusive. Vascularization is one of the most important factors that greatly influence the function of scaffolds. Many research studies have focused on the construction of a vascular-like network with prevascularization structure. Sacrificial materials are widely used to build perfusable vascular-like architectures, but most of these fabricated scaffolds only have a 2D plane-connected network. The fabrication of three-dimensional perfusable branched networks remains an urgent issue. In this work, we developed a novel sacrificial molding technique for fabricating biocompatible scaffolds with a three-dimensional perfusable branched network. Here, 3D-printed poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) filament was used as the sacrificial material. The fused PVA was deposited on the surface of a cylinder to create the 3D branched solid network. Gelatin was used to embed the solid network. Then, the PVA mold was dissolved after curing the hydrogel. The obtained architecture shows good perfusability. Cell experiment results indicated that human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) successfully attached to the surface of the branched channel and maintained high viability after a few days in culture. In order to prevent deformation of the channel, paraffin was coated on the surface of the printed structure, and hydroxyapatite (HA) was added to gelatin. In conclusion, we demonstrate a novel strategy toward the engineering of prevasculature thick tissues through the integration of the fused PVA filament deposit. This approach has great potential in solving the issue of three-dimensional perfusable branched networks and opens the way to clinical applications.

Objective To systematically review treatments of exfoliative cheilitis based on symptom patterns in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Methods PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials and Wanfang data were screened for case reports, case series or clinical trials that were published in English or Chinese from January, 1973 to September, 2015. The keyword of “exfoliative cheilitis or scaling cheilitis or factitious cheilitis” was used. Effectiveness or ineffectiveness was investigated as outcome for Meta analysis, which is based on effective index in each study. Response to treatment was described for case reports or case series. Results From 38 screened studies, 17 were randomized controlled trials (RCTs), 5 were single-arm trials, and 16 were case reports or case series. Three RCTs were eligible for Meta analysis and all of them compared managements between Traditional Chinese Medicine and corticosteroids for exfoliative cheilitis, which involved 223 participants. Interestingly, data of Meta analysis showed similar effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine and corticosteroids for patients with exfoliative cheilitis [relative risk ratio: 1.10; 95% CI (1.00-1.21), P = 0.06]. Conclusion Traditional Chinese Medicine might be a substitute for corticosteroids on exfoliative cheilitis. However, the evidence and recommendation of exfoliative cheilitis managements need to be taken with caution because of the low quality of evidence in the studies obtained.

Introduction: Electronic medical records are increasingly common in medical practice. The secondary use of medical records has become increasingly important. It relies on the ability to retrieve the complete information about desired patient populations. How to effectively and accurately retrieve relevant medical records from large- scale medical big data is becoming a big challenge. Therefore, we propose an efficient and robust framework based on cloud for large-scale Traditional Chinese Medical Records (TCMRs) retrieval. Methods: We propose a parallel index building method and build a distributed search cluster, the former is used to improve the performance of index building, and the latter is used to provide high concurrent online TCMRs retrieval. Then, a real-time multi-indexing model is proposed to ensure the latest relevant TCMRs are indexed and retrieved in real-time, and a semantics-based query expansion method and a multi- factor ranking model are proposed to improve retrieval quality. Third, we implement a template-based visualization method for displaying medical reports. Results: The proposed parallel indexing method and distributed search cluster can improve the performance of index building and provide high concurrent online TCMRs retrieval. The multi-indexing model can ensure the latest relevant TCMRs are indexed and retrieved in real-time. The semantics expansion method and the multi-factor ranking model can enhance retrieval quality. The template-based visualization method can enhance the availability and universality, where the medical reports are displayed via friendly web interface. Conclusions: In conclusion, compared with the current medical record retrieval systems, our system provides some advantages that are useful in improving the secondary use of large-scale traditional Chinese medical records in cloud environment. The proposed system is more easily integrated with existing clinical systems and be used in various scenarios.

Die service life improvement is an important problem in high-pressure die-casting industry. Die service life, which is defined as the maximum product number produced before it fails, and die performance directly determine the production cost and quality of die-casting product. To reduce the repair and maintenance costs, an approach to prevent die from thermal damage and prolong the die lifetime is required. Biomimetic laser-remelting process (BLRP) provides a promising method to improve the service life of die-casting mold. However, the laser processing regions can only be determined by experiences. In order to determine the exact laser processing regions for a set of new die before BLRP, a combination system of CAE and BLRP is proposed in this paper. Through analyzing the mold filling process and the temperature distribution, potential thermal cracks are worked out by numerical simulation system, which are the laser processing regions. The method proposed in this paper advances the efficiency of the BLRP. And practical production validates the veracity and the reliability of the method.

Reputation systems have become an important means to help users build trust, reduce information asymmetry and filter information in the context of online services provision. Different users cannot rate services under the same criteria due to the scale and dynamism of these systems. Thus, aggregating cardinal ratings into reputation will potentially lead to unreliable and misleading result, which makes reputation systems necessarily consider the impossibility of interpersonal utility comparisons. In this paper, we exploit the ordinal user preferences between services to compute reputation of services. A distance metric is defined to measure the discrepancy between two rating vectors and the reputation computation problem was formalized as an optimization problem. Then, genetic algorithm is used to solve the optimization problem to find a reputation vector that minimizes the total number of disagreements with the rating matrix. We conduct a comprehensive experimental study and performance analysis to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method.

Competition results are traditionally decided based on referees' rating scores. However, due to the inconsistent evaluation standard and the different subjective wishes of referees, the evaluation results will be affected to some extent. Thus, the objectivity of competition results will be reduced. We propose a method by using referees' preference ordering for players instead of traditional scores to evaluate the competition result. We constructs a relationship of referees' preferences for players and calculates players' overall ranking based on social choice theory and group decision. By constructing a directed graph and calculating the value of strongest path, we can improve the objectivity of result evaluation and the difficulty of manipulating competition results. We proved that the proposed method satisfies the criteria of fairness, consistency, maneuverability and monotonicity. Competition results will not be changed due to individual referees' preferences, so we can obtain a more reasonable result. We make a theoretical analysis and a comprehensive experimental study using real datasets to verify the rationality and effectiveness of the proposed method.

As there are the errors during the manufacturing and assembling of horizontal driving machine (HDM). The exceptional knocking noise is generated during some products running. The failure rate of product quality is rising as well. The forward and reverse driving noise of HDM was tested and analyzed. The pictures was collected by universal tool microscope. The results show that hot runner is not smooth enough to reduce transferring pressure and increase the shrinkage of worm pouring gate, which lead to slight conical degree of product and pitch deviation at worm pouring gate. As the pitch makes worm inset slightly worm gear when clockwise rotating, the noise and vibration was produced consequently in this direction. The proposals were given, such as strengthening the maintenance of hot runners, controlling and inspecting product conical degree, and optimizing HDM mould and increasing its accuracy, and so on.

In order to rescue the problems of controlling laser bionic strengthening local stripe of mould surface quality, it is put forward thoughts about the laser bionic local melting stripe of mould surface quality detection based on acoustic signal. Analyzed with the relationship between defocusing distance and acoustic signal characteristic, laser bionic strengthening local stripe quality, the results show that acoustic signal is weakened with the increased absolute value of defocusing distance. As the defocusing distance is 0mm, the role of the laser is primarily ablation and the stripe quality is the worst; the function of laser on the surface materials is too weak to strengthen when the defocusing distance is -4mm; laser on target surface plays its role of strengthening, mainly owing to melting, with defocusing distance of +4mm. Overall tests show that, based on the quantitative detection of acoustic signal characteristic, it could inspect and control the quality of strengthening stripe, and it will realize the overall control of laser bionic strengthening mould surface quality with guiding significance.

Because welding system is given the look function by laser image sensing, the automation of welding system is well improved. But the two problems are image processing deviation under welding interference and adjusting deviation of machine set tracking. Targeting at these problems, the weld seam tracking (WST) system is designed. Some mathematics are brought forward, including the log grey transformation, Laplace edge detection, extracting center route of laser strip and detecting the characteristic points of weld seam image. The dynamic trend of WST is controlled by the current seam deviation calculated by seam characteristic points. The subsection control strategy and the decision algorithm of WST stability in abnormal circumstances are used. The WST experimental results show that tracking S shape weld seam is delivered effectively with high precision based on the proposed weld seam tracking, can meet welding technology requirement and provide experimental data for manufacturing WST system.

Distribution, loss of current and voltage will directly result the inaccuracy of metering device, Plug-in metering device can achieve meter rapid installation through insertion and evulsion, being a hot research and application at present. Combined with this configuration, set an interlock-delay link, which controlled by micro limit switches and a dedicated key, we can realize meters' replacement or reformation under uninterruptible power supply. On the other hand, if replaced or reformed illegally, there will be power failure, and cannot recover except professionals from power supply company. In this case, we can prevent electricity theft from it happens instead of large scale investigation and punishment later, which make us turn from passive to active, and prevent electrical energy resources theft occurred.

Community of Web Service is a society composed by a number of functionally identical Web Services. The communities are regarded as a whole for users in an opening environment and users would pay for services when they invoke Web Service successfully. Communities should distribute the whole profit to all of the providers of Web Services inside after a settlement period. Due to the cooperation among Web Services in a community we treat these Web Services as a cooperative game. In this paper we propose a method to distribute profit based on Shapley value which considers the contribution of each Web Service to community and we then implement an algorithm based on MC-nets to suit the actual situation which we always cannot get complete input for general algorithm of computing Shapley value. We also show our method is efficient and practicable.

Fault detection approach based on principal component analysis (PCA) has been applied widely and effectively to chemical processes monitoring system. A novel PCA approach called weighted PCA (WPCA) for continuous stirred tank reactor system (CSTR) with time-varying is addressed in the paper. Time-varying can cause unfavorable influence on feature extraction, but weighted PCA approach can obtain slow features information of observed data in CSTR with time-varying. The monitoring statistical indices are based on WPCA approach and their confidence limits are computed by kernel density estimation (KDE). A simulation illustrated that the proposed method achieves better dynamical performance from the perspective of fault detection rate and fault detection time than PCA approach.

Medical image sharing is an important problem in modern radiology, with wide applications in Internet and mobile devices. Some important features need to be added and optimized to medical image sharing. In this paper, we present an extensible Web Access to DICOM Persistent Objects (WADO) middleware based on image cache and real-time Web monitor technology for regional medical image sharing. We first develop the extension method of WADO standard and workflow of extended WADO service. Then, we design a medical image cache method to improve the performance of medical image on-demand transmission. Using the real-time monitor can discover the performance bottlenecks and optimized critical points. The experimental results show that the middleware effectively delivers medical images and reports to Web clients over the Internet, regardless of the platform used for access. It can be deployed in one hospital to provide WADO service to medical workers and also can be applied to regional picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) to transmit medical images and reports to Internet users in a way that is transparent to end-user applications.

Regenerative braking makes the braking stability of electric vehicles change when it recovers the braking energy of vehicles. The calculation models were established for electric braking force, electric braking torque and utilization adhesion coefficients of front axle and rear axle, aiming at the electro mechanical hybrid braking system composed of electric braking and conventional mechanical friction braking. The utilization adhesion coefficients of front and rear axles were calculated respectively with the paralleled-hybridized braking control strategy under different braking intensity, according to front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive in the electro mechanical hybrid braking system. The calculation results indicate that rear-wheel drive is not suitable for electro mechanical hybrid braking system from the perspective of energy recovery and braking stability. For front-wheel drive of electro-mechanical hybrid braking system, front-axle is always locked ahead of rear-axle no matter what the electric motor is working at the constant power braking area or constant torque braking area, and the braking stability is preferable. However, the front wheels are locked between times when braking intensity is weak. This case could be improved by adjusting the electric braking force in order to meet the requirements of braking stability of ECE regulation.
