On the 26th of August 2019, the Indonesian government announced the location of the new nation’s capital city. The plan to move the capital city raises various pros, cons, and several challenges, including those from natural disaster aspects. East Kalimantan’s coastal area faces the Makassar Strait waters which have the potential for tsunamis, either originating from landslides or from the megathrust. The megathrust earthquake that has the potential to cause a tsunami in the area is the megathrust of North Sulawesi. In 1997, an earthquake measuring 7.9 Mw originating from the megathrust caused a catastrophic tsunami. According to Peta Gempa (Pusgen, 2017), the North Sulawesi Megathrust has the worst potential for an earthquake of magnitude 8.5. In this research, the tsunami wave height and the estimated time of arrival will be simulated using the TUNAMI numerical model. In addition, analyses from the simulation results are also made for coastal areas with high activity and large population (Palu, Toli-toli, Donggala, Mamuju, Samarinda, Berau, Kutai, and Bontang). The simulation results of this model show that the maximum height of the tsunami waves on the coast of East Kalimantan is 0.83 meters and the arrival time is around 1.6 to 2 hours.

Cilacap, located on the south coast of Java Island, is an “oil and gas city”. Cilacap has many oil refineries, storage, and loading & unloading facilities. However, these facilities’ existence is threatened by the potential for earthquakes and tsunami in Cilacap because Cilacap is very close to the Eurasia and Indo-Australian plates’ subduction zone. The earthquake and tsunami waves can damage these facilities and cause secondary disasters, namely oil spill pollution. The first step to anticipate is to predict the direction and distribution of the oil spill due to tsunami through simulation and numerical modeling. This simulation and modeling used the TUNAMI model, hydrodynamic model, and spill analysis model based on the worst-case scenario (Mw 9.0 earthquake). This study simulates and models the oil spill in the west and east monsoons. Based on this simulation and modeling result, we know that the direction and distribution of the oil spill in the west and east monsoons are relatively the same and move more dominantly in the current direction. The spread of the oil spill caused by the tsunami was faster than the oil spill in general. Some of the oil spills spread inland more than 1 km north of the Teluk Penyu coast. The authors expect this study’s results can be used as material for preparing of contingency plans for handling oil spills to minimize negative impacts.

Specific targets of this activity are: (i) SMEs can increase turnover; (ii) SMEs can enhance variety of design products; (iii) SMEs have skilled human resources on product design; (iv) SMEs can prepare financial statements; (v) SMEs have a standard quality assurance; (vi) SMEs can improve product quality and speed up the production process; (vii) Obtaining copyrights products. Methods of implementation of this program include: training and assistance with activities such as: the manufacture of machinery and production equipment, supply of equipment, participation in exhibitions, arrangement of storage space and show room, cooperating with other parties as well as the processing of copyright products. The results obtained from these activities, first with the brass foundry furnace and molds made of firebrick resulted in increased speed of production processes as well as fuel efficiency and cost of production for SME-1 "Whisnu". It took only three hours to the cooking process cast brass with a capacity of 120 kg previously take longer that 5 hours. Secondly, Machine Mixer Fiber Materials for Partners "Java Fiber" can shorten the process of mixing the fiber material to be faster, employees are not tired and product quality is getting better and there is no defective products. Fiber material mixing machine can stir 25 kg fiber material for 5 minutes, while the previous manual way takes 1 hour to stir 25 kg fiber. Thirdly, it has been conducted Partners Products Exhibition. Fourth, it generates three new product design by SME-1 "Whisnu" and 4 design new products by SME-2 "Java Fiber". Fifth, the proposed copyright has begun to partner products to the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights. This activity resulted in increased revenue of SMEs 10% per year.

This study aimed to develop a patient trust model that contributes to patient satisfaction and quality healthcare services by focusing on the role of patient health condition as a moderator. Data were collected from three regional general hospitals in East Java, Indonesia, using a questionnaire administered to patients or the families of patients. The proposed model consists of seven constructs. Four represent the quality of healthcare: quality of interaction (five variables), physical environment quality (four variables), outcome quality (three variables), and justice quality (six variables). One construct represents the patient’s health condition (two variables), another represents patient satisfaction (six variables), and the last one is patient trust (six variables). The model was tested using structural equation modeling based on WarpPLS. The goodness-of-fit statistic supported the patient trust model. The hypothesis testing results indicated that physical environment quality, outcome quality, justice quality, and health conditions could predict patient satisfaction. The health condition construct was found to moderate the effect of justice quality on patient satisfaction. Moreover, interaction quality, outcome quality, health condition, and patient satisfaction had an influence on patient trust.

Since 1977 until 2005, PT. ANTAM has been exploited nickel ore resources at Gebe Island – Center of Halmahera District – North Maluku Province. Mining activity not only gives economically advantages, but also causes degradation of environment quality especially land quality. Therefore, it needs evaluation activity for land quality changing at Gebe Island after the mining activity (postmining). For handling Gebe Island after mining activity needs identification of the problems, potential and obstacles as the basic for arranging development strategy of Gebe Island. This research used Focused Group Discussion (FGD) method, desk study and field survey. Base on this research the important think has to be done, are : (a) to make or open new market at surround Gebe Island; (b) development Gebe Island has be base on locally resources and export oriented; (c ) needinvestor as prime mover in Gebe Island; (d) optimize of PT ANTAM’s asset; (e) increase institution coordination and program integration.Key words : sustainable development, post mining

Indonesia’s disaster potential is very high and varied. Natural conditions, population and cultural diversity in Indonesia cause in increased risks due to natural disasters, man-made disasters and emergencies to be complex, on the other side Indonesia is rich in natural resources. Disaster relief should be directed from pre-disaster phase, during emergency response and post disaster. The initial phase of this effort is the need for understanding of all stakeholders (mainly institutions) about the development of the concept and paradigm change mitigation. By knowing the concept and development of this paradigm is expected that all stakeholders can do things from the smallest to the larger and synergies will occur from all stakeholders to minimize the impact of a disaster. From ancient times until now the concept of a paradigm in disaster management shift very rapidly starting from the conventional to the holistic paradigm. In general, the development paradigm is the conventional paradigm (relief & emergency), mitigation paradigm, development paradigm and paradigm of risk reduction. Paradigm that is now growing and effective enough to minimize the risk mitigation is the analogy of mitigation for diseases caused by poor environmental sanitation. The analogy with disease problems mentioned above, there are disasters which can now be viewed in the same perspective, where the current disaster is something that is not predictable and it is destiny or part of the risks of everyday life. The concentration of people and higher population levels worldwide would increase the risk of disasters and multiply the consequences of natural hazards as dangers that arise. However, based on science “of epidemiology disaster” actually most of these disasters can be prevented or at least many ways to reduce the impact of a disaster (mitigation actions). Like the war against disease, warfare should be fought against disaster by any person jointly and involve society as well as changes in social behavior as well as improvements in individual practices.Keywords : mitigation, disease, environmental sanitation, disaster
