Identifying the inter-sectoral relationships between the construction sector and other related sectors is crucial to reducing carbon emissions and promoting economic development. Non-competitive input–output models at comparable prices in 1992, 1997, 2002, 2007, 2012, and 2017 were used to conduct this study. The structural production layer difference (SPLD) method was employed in this study and complemented with the results of structural decomposition analysis to identify significant sectors affecting economic growth and carbon emissions in the construction sector. Overall, the carbon emissions and economic growth of China's construction sector in 2017 increased by 2.4 billion tonnes and 10512.4 billion yuan, respectively, compared to 1992 at the 2000 price level. Important sectors influencing economic growth and carbon emissions in the construction sector are identified. Wholesale and retail trade sector (s31) and finance sector (s33) increased the economic growth of the construction sector without the additional emission of CO2, which is economically and environmentally sustainable. Smelting and processing of the metals (s15) and transport and storage (s29) sectors simultaneously restrained economic growth and inhibited carbon emissions in the construction sector. The production and distribution of the electric and heat power sector (s25) stimulates the growth of carbon emissions in the sector of smelting and processing of the metals (s15), reducing the carbon reduction effect of smelting and processing of the metals (s15) on the construction sector. The SPLD results revealed that the direct impact of other services sector (s35) and transport and storage (s29) on carbon emissions in the construction sector has not been highlighted by the structural decomposition analysis (SDA). In terms of economic added value, processing of petroleum coking and the nuclear fuel sector (s12) is a pivotal sector in the supply chain influencing the added value from the extraction of petroleum and natural gas sector (s3) to the construction sector according to the results of SPLD.

The existing pedestrian tracking applications are challenging to balance real-time performance and accuracy. We propose a detection–tracking–correction strategy based on the improved single-shot multi-box detector (SSD), Deep-SORT, and the improved multi-stage object detection architecture (Cascade-R-CNN), which takes both real-time performance and accuracy into consideration. For the detection mechanism, the SSD network is fast and efficient, but the disadvantage of the SSD network is relatively low accuracy. Therefore, the tricks such as cross-entropy loss function, deconvolution, and non-maximum suppression are introduced to improve the SSD network. Then, the improved SSD network is used as the central pedestrian detector to ensure real-time performance. For the tracking mechanism, the Deep-SORT is used to improve the mismatch between tracking and detection. For the correction mechanism, the improved Cascade R-CNN (introducing deformable convolution and group normalization) is used as the reference network to correct the detection errors. The experiment on the data set OTB-100 shows that the proposed strategy has good stability and adaptability in various complex scenes, and the conditions of missed detection and false detection are significantly reduced.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common human malignant tumors in recent years. Although multiple approaches have been developed for the diagnosis and therapy of CRC, the overall survival rates of patients with metastatic and recurrent CRC remain poor. In the present study, we used the high-throughput microarray technology to screen circular RNAs (circRNAs) as a potential fingerprint for CRC. We mainly aimed to screen potential biomarkers for liver metastasis by performing risk score analysis. We detected the upregulated expression of circ_0115744 in patients with CRC with liver metastasis (CRLM). Further investigation using a validation set indicated that circ_0115744 might be considered as a fingerprint for CRLM. Functionally, the overexpression of circ_0115744 significantly promoted the invasion of CRC cell lines, while decreased expression of circ_0115744 suppressed cell invasion in vitro. Mechanistic analysis showed that circ_0115744 acted as a competing endogenous RNA of miR-144 to diminish the repressive effect of miR-144 on its target EZH2. In conclusion, we found that increased expression of circ_0115744 could differentiate CRLM from CRC and that the newly identified circ_0115744/miR-144/EZH2 axis was involved in the progression of CRC, which might be used as a potential diagnostic and therapeutic target for patients with CRC.

BACKGROUND Recent evidence support that netrin-1 involves in colorectal carcinogenesis. OBJECTIVE This study was to evaluate the performance of serum netrin-1 for detection of colorectal cancer (CRC) in both clinical/screening sets. METHODS A total of 115 consecutive patients with CRC and matched healthy controls were included in Clinical Set. Fifty subjects with CRC, 50 subjects with advanced adenoma (AA), and 150 matched control participants free of neoplasia were included in Screening Set. RESULTS In Clinical set, subjects with CRC presented higher levels of serum netrin-1 (513.9 ± 22.6 pg/mL) than controls (347.8 ± 20.3 pg/mL, p< 0.0001). Similar in Screening set, serum netrin-1 was higher in CRC (644.5 ± 37.0 pg/mL, both p< 0.0001), compared with controls (407.7 ± 14.8 pg/mL) and AA (416.5 ± 18.5 pg/mL). However, there was no difference between controls and AA (p= 0.752). Compared with the low netrin-1 group, the high group presented increased risk of CRC (Clinical set: OR = 4.300, p< 0.001; Screening set: OR = 7.731, p< 0.001). ROC curve of netrin-1 was developed to detect CRC (Clinical set: AUC 0.703; Screening set: AUC 0.759). CONCLUSIONS It suggests netrin-1 as a potential biomarker for CRC detection.

Aim: Vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) is the most common urogenital acquired fistula, and has remained a scourge and of public health importance. VVF can be repaired by transvaginal approach, transabdominal approach or transvesical approach, but the optimal management is still debated.Methods: To demonstrate a suprapubic transvesical approach to repair VVFs using a homemade laparoscopic single-port device. A retrospective review of the medical records of 42 consecutive patients who underwent fistula repair for VVF at our center from January 2012 to March 2018 was performed. VVFs were repaired by a suprapubic transvesical approach using a homemade laparoscopic single-port device. Clinical data, perioperative data and outcomes were collected. The primary outcome was VVF successful closure rate, and secondary outcome was perioperative complications.Results: The mean age of the patients was 44.6 (27–58) yr. The mean follow-up time was 65.6 (32–118) mo. The VVFs were successfully closed in 37 (88.1%) patients after the first surgery, and failure was observed in five patients. Initial failures of all the five patients were cured after a second repair. No major complication occurred as defined by Clavien-Dindo class 2 or greater.Conclusions: Suprapubic transvesical approach to repair VVFs using a homemade laparoscopic single-port device is a simple, effective, and feasible approach offering ideal results without major complications.

BACKGROUND Acute liver injury (ALI) is an essential component of sepsis associated with poor outcomes. Octanoic acid (OA), a medium-chain fatty acid, has a protective effect on sepsis-induced organ damage, and autophagy is an adaptive response to sepsis. However, the underlying mechanism by which OA prevents ALI remains unknown. Therefore, we investigated whether OA-rich enteral nutrition (EN) prevented lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced ALI through the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK)-dependent autophagy. METHODS Firstly, Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups (sham, LPS, LPS + EN, and LPS + EN + OA) to detect the effect of OA-rich EN on LPS-induced ALI. Then, rats were randomly divided into five groups (sham, LPS, LPS + EN + OA, LPS + EN + OA + anisomycin (AN), and LPS + SP600125) to explore the mechanism by which OA-rich EN prevented ALI. EN and OA-rich EN were conducted through gastric tubes for 3 days. The liver protective effects were measured by liver histopathological changes, enzymes, inflammatory cytokines of serum and liver, the levels of autophagy, and JNK activity. RESULTS OA-rich EN inhibited JNK activity, up-regulated autophagy and prevented LPS-induced ALI. Inhibition of JNK activity conferred by SP promoted autophagy and prevented LPS-induced ALI. Moreover, the protective effect of autophagy and inhibition of JNK activity conferred by OA-rich EN on ALI was counteracted by AN. CONCLUSION OA-rich EN prevented LPS-induced ALI through JNK-dependent autophagy. This result suggested that OA-rich EN may be a therapeutic potential for ALI in patients with sepsis.

BACKGROUND: The transurethral catheter (TUC) or supra-pubic catheter is commonly used after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP). However, the best way of urine drainage after the operation is still controversial. METHODS: A comprehensive search of PubMed, Cochrane, Web of Science databases and the reference lists of relevant articles was performed up to July 2019. This systematic review and meta-analysis was performed based on all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and retrospective studies assessing the two techniques. RESULTS: In total, nine studies (1,121 patients) were eligible, including three RCTs, one prospective and five retrospective studies. After RARP, postoperative pain was less in suprapubic catheter (SPC) group than TC group, both within 3 days [mean difference (MD): −0.70; 95% confidence interval (CI): −1.37 to −0.02; P=0.04] and 5 days after operation (MD: −0.96; 95% CI: −1.39 to −0.52; P

Background Full-thickness rectal prolapse (FTRP) frequently occurs in elderly women, and more than 100 surgical procedures have been proposed to restore FTRP. The Gant-Miwa-Thiersch (GMT) procedure is the most used treatment in China. However, the recurrence rate of FTRP post-GMT, which is as high as 23.8%, is concerning. We described a new modified GMT combined with internal and external rectal sclerosant injection (nmGMTSI) procedure to address this problem. Methods The nmGMTSI was performed under spinal anesthesia in 34 frail, elderly female patients with FTRP. The surgical results of FTRP were assessed. Fecal incontinence and constipation were evaluated using the Wexner score, and anal canal rest pressure (ACRP), maximum anal systolic pressure (MASP), anorectal sensation thresholds (AST), and maximum rectal tolerance (MRT) using anorectal manometry preoperatively and postoperatively. The causes of recurrence and complications were analyzed. Results All patients were cured according to the clinical cure standard. The perioperative Wexner fecal incontinence score (WFIS) was 10.3 ± 3.31, which became 3.7 ± 2.43 (P Conclusion The benefits of nmGMTSI include low rates of recurrence, complications, and mortality, cost-effectiveness, wide adaptation, minimal invasiveness, and technical simplicity. Hence, it should be considered the first option for the treatment of FTRP in frail elderly women.

IntroductionGallbladder cancer (GBC), the sixth most common gastrointestinal tract cancer, poses a significant disease burden in China. However, no national representative data are available on the clinical characteristics, treatment and prognosis of GBC in the Chinese population.Methods and analysisThe Chinese Research Group of Gallbladder Cancer (CRGGC) study is a multicentre retrospective registry cohort study. Clinically diagnosed patient with GBC will be identified from 1 January 2008 to December, 2019, by reviewing the electronic medical records from 76 tertiary and secondary hospitals across 28 provinces in China. Patients with pathological and radiological diagnoses of malignancy, including cancer in situ, from the gallbladder and cystic duct are eligible, according to the National Comprehensive Cancer Network 2019 guidelines. Patients will be excluded if GBC is the secondary diagnosis in the discharge summary. The demographic characteristics, medical history, physical examination results, surgery information, pathological data, laboratory examination results and radiology reports will be collected in a standardised case report form. By May 2021, approximately 6000 patient with GBC will be included. The clinical follow-up data will be updated until 5 years after the last admission for GBC of each patient. The study aimed (1) to depict the clinical characteristics, including demographics, pathology, treatment and prognosis of patient with GBC in China; (2) to evaluate the adherence to clinical guidelines of GBC and (3) to improve clinical practice for diagnosing and treating GBC and provide references for policy-makers.Ethics and disseminationThe protocol of the CRGGC has been approved by the Committee for Ethics of Xinhua Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (SHEC-C-2019–085). With the popularization of the Internet and the prevalence of online marketing, e-commerce systems provide enterprises with unlimited display space and provide customers with more product choices, while its structure is becoming increasingly complex. The emergence and application of the network marketing recommendation system have greatly improved this series of problems. It can effectively retain customers, prevent customer loss, and increase the cross-selling volume of the e-commerce system. However, the current network marketing recommendation system is still immature in practical applications, and the problem of data sparseness is serious. The problem of user interest drift is not well dealt with, resulting in poor recommendation quality and poor real-time recommendation. Therefore, this paper proposes an online marketing recommendation algorithm based on the integration of content and collaborative filtering. First, content-based methods are used to discover users’ existing interests. After that, the mixed similarity model of content and behaviour is used to find the similar user group of the target user, predict the user’s interest in the feature words, and discover the user’s potential interest. Then, the user’s existing interest and potential interest are merged to obtain a user interest model that is both personalized and diverse. Finally, the similarity between the marketing content and the fusion model is calculated to form a set of user ratings combined with characteristics and then clustered through K-means to finally achieve recommendation. Experiments have proved that this method has good recommendation performance.

Background and Aims Liver expressed antimicrobial peptide 2 (LEAP2) is recently identified as a regulator in energy metabolism. This study aims to 1) investigate the role of leap2 in hepatic steatosis in C57BL/6 mice; 2) evaluate the association between circulating LEAP2 levels and liver fat contents in a hospital based case-control study. Methods The rodent experiment: western blotting and qPCR were performed to evaluate leap2 levels, lipid metabolism pathways and insulin signaling. shRNA was used to knockdown leap2. The clinical study: commercial ELISA kits were used to measure circulating LEAP2 levels (validated by western blotting). Liver fat content was estimated using MRI-derived proton density fat fraction and FibroScan-derived controlled attenuation parameter. Results The rodent experiment found the hepatic expression and secreted levels of leap2 were increased in mice with diet-induced steatosis. Leap2 knockdown ameliorated steatosis via lipolytic/lipogenic pathway and improved insulin sensitivity via IRS/AKT signaling. The clinical study reported increased circulating levels of LEAP2 in the subjects with steatosis. Moreover, LEAP2 correlated positively with age, body mass index, waist-to-hip ratio, liver fat content, fasting insulin and HOMA-IR, whereas inversely with acyl-ghrelin. Furthermore, the circulating levels of LEAP2 are dependent on liver fat content, acyl-ghrelin and fasting glucose. Lastly, circulating LEAP2 is an independent predictor of NAFLD. Conclusions The study suggests LEAP2 is associated with hepatic steatosis, which may involve lipolytic/lipogenic pathway and insulin signaling.

A three-dimensional notched-elliptical microdisk with a wavelength-size notch on the boundary is proposed as a multi-wavelength and unidirectional emission lasing source. The device contains multiple properly designed two-dimensional whispering gallery mode-based polymer notched microdisks with different dimensions for use as a multi-wavelength source. It can have a relatively high optical quality factor of 4000, unidirectional emission with low far-field divergence ∼4°, and the efficiency of emission is as high as 84.2%. The effect of the notch size on the far-field divergence is analyzed, and the multi-wavelength lasing performance is characterized, demonstrating that the resonator is robust and reliable. This work paves a unique but generic way for the design of compact multi-wavelength microlasers.

Gastric cancer (GC) is the fourth most common cancer in the world and the second most common cancer in China. The aim of this study was to investigate the clinicopathologic profiles and prognosis of GC in the upper third (UT), middle third (MT) and low third (LT) of the stomach. Five hundred and forty-two patients with GC resected between January 2010 and January 2014 were retrospectively studied and divided in 3 groups according to cancer location: upper third gastric cancer (UTGC) (n = 62); MTGC (n = 131) and LTGC (n = 349). Clinical and pathological parameters including gender, age, tumor size, macroscopic types, histological types, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, venous infiltration and lymph embolism were compared among groups. Overall survival (OS) was calculated based on the aforementioned parameters. Univariate and multivariate survival was analyzed and Cox regression was conducted for each location. The prognostic accuracy was determined using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis. Patients with UTGC was similar to those with MTGC and both were distinct from those with LTGC based on the tumor size, macroscopic types, depth of invasion and 5-year OS. Patients with MTGC were similar to those with LTGC and distinct from UTGC patients based on gender. 5-year OS were lower for patients with UTGC than those with LTGC (P = .001) and were comparable between MTGC and LTGC. No significant differences in 5-year OS were observed between UTGC and MTGC. Cox regression revealed that macroscopic types, depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis were the independent prognostic factors for GC patients regardless of locations. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis revealed that macroscopic types, depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis were the significantly effective prognosis for the 5-year OS in GC patients regardless of locations. Our results showed that UTGC is distinct from LTGC whereas MTGC shares some characteristics from both UTGC and LTGC.

Due to the complexity of the underwater environment, underwater images captured by optical cameras usually suffer from haze and color distortion. Based on the similarity between the underwater imaging model and the atmosphere model, the dehazing algorithm is widely adopted for underwater image enhancement. As a key factor of the dehazing model, background light directly affects the quality of image enhancement. This paper proposes a novel background light estimation method which can enhance the underwater image. And it can be applied in 30-60m depth with artificial light. The method combines deep learning to obtain red channel information of the background light in the dark channel of the underwater image. Then, the background light is obtained by adaptive color deviation correction. Finally, the experiments of underwater images enhancement are carried out, using the dark channel prior algorithm based on the proposed background light estimation method. The results show that the proposed method effectively improves underwater image blur and color deviation, and is superior to other methods in multiple non-reference image evaluation indicators.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are promoted in recent years as an effective way in alleviating the air pollution caused by tailpipe emissions. However, the pollutants derived from EVs are unheeded. EVs rely on electricity to provide power, and thus their related pollution is transferred to the power plants, which gives rise to the environmental and health pressure to the adjacent regions. In this paper, the transfer of EV-attributed PM2.5, SO2, and NOx inhalations in China are studied. Then by comparing the inhalations versus traffic accessibility among the impacted municipalities, this study sheds light on the environmental injustice lying in the mismatch between pollutant inhalations and traffic accessibility. The results reveal that compared with Shanghai and Shenzhen, the promotion of EVs in Beijing triggers higher pollutant inhalations to its surrounding municipalities. North China Power Grid undertakes 715.62 g PM2.5 inhalation in total, which is 2.51 and 3.20 times higher than the East China Power Grid and the China Southern Power Grid, respectively. The number of municipalities with lower traffic accessibility while higher pollutant inhalation is 8,8, and 17 in North China Power Grid, East China Power Grid, and China Southern Power Grid respectively, indicating conspicuous environmental injustice resulted from the promotion of EVs.

The North China Grid has the highest proportion of fossil fuel-based electricity generation in China and also suffers from severe water scarcity issues. This study uses a multi-objective optimization model to explore future configurations of generating and cooling technologies of the electric power sector in the North China Grid subject to constraints imposed by existing policies on water conservation and carbon reduction in 2030. Our findings highlight that the current carbon reduction commitments of China do not have significant impacts on the North China Grid's electric power sector development while policies in the water sector generate much larger impacts. Imposing water constraint according to the ‘Three Red Line’ Policy requires increasing utilization of wind power and air cooling systems, which simultaneously increases economic cost and carbon emissions compared to the business as usual scenario. Imposing enhanced carbon emission and water consumption constraints reap the co-benefits of carbon reduction and water conservation by increasing the proportion of solar PV generation to 8.21%, which increases the unit electricity cost from RMB 0.82 per kWh to RMB 1.37 per kWh. In 2030, electricity generation in the North China Grid generates 1599.88 to 1690.89 million tons (Mt) of carbon emissions under different scenarios whereas imposing water constraint reduces water consumption from 3.34 billion m3 to 1.94 billion m3.

Manufacturing is the foundation of China's economy and accounts for a large proportion of China's CO2 emissions. In this study, the structural path decomposition (SPD) methodology, based on an environmental input-output model, was used to find critical supply chain paths that drive changes in CO2 life cycle in China's manufacturing industry from 1992 to 2012. The changes in CO2 emissions were decomposed into three main factors: carbon emissions intensity, input-output structure, and final demand. In this study, the “weighted average decompositions” method of structural decomposition analysis and the non-comparable input-output table were first applied to the SPD method to obtain accurate results. The results indicate that higher-order paths, especially the paths that started from the “Smelting and Rolling of Metals” and the “Production and Supply of Electricity and Steam” sectors, led to an increase in carbon emissions. This was mainly due to the extension of the industrial chain as well as policy priorities. Moreover, CO2 emissions from the “Chemical Industry”, “Manufacture of Nonmetallic Mineral Products”, and “Smelting and Rolling of Metals” sectors were mainly induced by the increase of final export demands. Based on the results of this study, relevant policy changes have also been recommended.

With the development of smart power systems, it has become possible to adjust the operating status of aggregated air conditioning loads (ACLs) to make them trace the commands for distributed energy sources consumption. However, inevitable communication delay causes conspicuous control error. On the basis of analyzing control error of ACLs caused by communication delay, this paper proposes a communication delay compensation method based on network predictive control system. Then, aggregated ACLs are applied to consume the distributed energy sources in a microgrid, and several simulations demonstrate the compensation method proposed in this paper. The simulation results show that this method can diminish the control error caused by random communication delay to a large extent.

An approach of continuously tunable unidirectional emission through bending a notched-elliptical polymer microdisk is proposed. The characteristics of the bending-dependent action are carefully analyzed, and the resonance wavelength for unidirectional emission can be tuned continuously through bending the device. Such a whispering-gallery-mode microresonator enables unidirectional emission with ultra-low divergence, of which the emission efficiency and Q factor are stabilized, demonstrating the whole structure is robust and relatively insensitive within a certain bending angle range. A maximum resonance wavelength shift of ∼100 nm and Q factor of 1500 can be achieved with the total size of the microdisk less than 10 μm. This kind of microresonator is promising for applications in multilevel integrated photonics circuits and may open the door to new functionalities of resonator devices, from sensing to optical amplification.

This paper aims to examine the environmental performance of the multi-crystalline (multi-Si) photovoltaic installations by conducting a life cycle assessment (LCA) of a typical 1-Megawatt on-grid ground-mounted solar power station in China. An energy payback time calculation will be presented with some further suggestions. After a thorough study of the LCA of solar power station, the boundary of the goal is clearly presented, making it feasible to study the total input and the annual output of the system. Specifically speaking, the total energy input, including the energy input of the module manufacturing and the energy input of balance of system (BOS) is 19.5548 x10 6 MJ, while the annual energy output is calculated to be 8.328 x 10 6 MJ. Thus the energy payback time (EPBT) is 2.3 years, revealing the conclusion that the establishment of the solar power station would contribute to a clean usage for more than 27 years, given the assumption of a 30-year operation period. Therefore, the solar power station is much more environmental friendly compared to the traditional fossil fuel systems.

This paper aims to examine the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission profit of the multi-crystalline (multi-Si) photovoltaic installations by conducting life cycle assessments (LCA) for both the traditional coal-fired power plants and the PV-based power plants. The GHG emission rates for both systems are 975.2 g CO 2 -eq./kWh and 36.75 g CO 2 -eq./kWh respectively, and the difference, which represents the unit GHG emission rate profit, is 938.45 g CO2-eq./kWh. The application of a 1MW PV-based power plant was followed, and the annual GHG emission profit for such a system was 2.08 x 10 9 g CO2-eq. Some further discussion was also made, indicating the sources of the data as well as the reasons for the method adoption.

The adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) is an important way to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. The city of Shenzhen, in southern China, has focused on developing policies to encourage EV implementation over the past decade and now has the most EVs of any city in the world, including the largest e‐bus and e‐taxi fleets. This paper reviews Shenzhen's innovative incentive policies and business models with respect to the potential for other cities and regions to learn from the city's experiences. Subsidies for the purchase and use of EVs, the construction of charging facilities, and the provision of services followed an inverse U‐shaped trend that initially rose to encourage early adoption before decreasing as the market matured. Additional incentives included preferential vehicle licensing, parking privileges, and road access. Furthermore, the city adopted a business model that incentivized cooperation between third‐party financial institutions, EV manufacturers, and charging facility operators to reduce the initial financial burden and risk of EV adoption by pooling purchasing power through leasing and vehicle sharing while disassociating vehicle and battery maintenance. Although Shenzhen's experience has unique aspects that cannot easily be replicated, such as a strong financial position of the government, it offers two important lessons for other cities around the globe: (a) incentivize the whole EV value chain in order to avoid bottlenecks and (b) use innovative business models that mobilize both public and private resources by distributing both risks and rewards. A miniature resonator sensor based on a hybrid plasmonic nanoring with a gold layer coated uniformly on the outer boundary is described and investigated. By using the Lumerical finite-difference-time-domain (FDTD) method, the optimized sizes of the plasmonic layer thickness and the central hole are given and insight into the dependence of spectral displacements, Q factors, sensitivity and detection limits on the ambient refractive index is presented. Simulation results reveal that the miniature resonator sensor featuring high sensitivity of 339.8 nm/RIU can be realized. The highest Q factor can reach ∼60,000 with this nanoring and the minimum detection limit is as low as 1.5 × 10−4 RIU. The effects on the resonance shifts and Q factors due to geometric shapes of the inner boundary of the nanoring are discussed as well. This miniature resonator sensor has good potential for highly sensitive ultracompact sensing applications.

The present study aimed to investigate the expression of methionine sulfoxide reductases B3 (MSRB3) in gastric cancer (GC) and its clinical significance. A total of 90 specimens from patients with GC were collected to evaluate MSRB3 protein expression by immunohistochemical staining. The associations between MSRB3 protein expression, clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of patients with GC were subsequently investigated. The results demonstrated that MSRB3 protein expression in GC tissues samples was significantly higher compared with that in paired adjacent normal tissues (P=0.017). Among the 90 GC cases, 64 (71.1%) exhibited higher MSRB3 expression. In addition, the diagnostic value of MSRB3 for patients with GC was estimated with a sensitivity of 71.1% and a specificity of 46.7%. However, MSRB3 expression was not associated with clinicopathological characteristics of patients with GC. Kaplan-Meier analysis indicated that patients with high MSRB3 expression had significantly shorter overall survival (OS) times compared with those with low expression (P=0.040). Univariate Cox regression analysis indicated that maximum tumor diameter, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, Tumor-Node-Metastasis (TNM) stage and MSRB3 expression were significantly associated with OS time. Multivariate Cox regression analysis indicated that MSRB3 was an independent predicting factor for the OS time of patients with GC (P=0.049). In addition, analysis using The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database validated these results. Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that higher MSRB3 mRNA expression was associated with poorer OS time in 442 patients with GC (P=0.004). Univariate analysis of the TCGA data indicated that age, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, TNM stage and MSRB3 expression were significantly associated with OS time; however, sex and histological differentiation were not associated with OS time. Multivariate analysis demonstrated that MSRB3 was an independent prognostic factor in patients with GC (P=0.001). In conclusion, these results demonstrated that MSRB3 expression was upregulated in patients GC, which suggests that MSBR3 may serve as a potential prognostic biomarker.

Using low GWP(Global Warming Potential) refrigerants in the air-conditioning system to replace the conventional refrigerant R22 is an important strategy to ease global warming. The energy consumption of air conditioning systems is primarily determined by the compression characteristics of refrigerant in the cylinder of the rotary compressor. In this paper, a mathematic model of refrigerant compression in the cylinder is developed, which considers leakage, heat exchange between refrigerant and the wall and refrigerant solution in the oil. The performance of the rotary compressor using refrigerant R290, R1270, R32 and R22 is contrastively discussed by using simulation methods. Results show that the rotary compressor using R290 has highest COP and lowest power consumption under the same cooling condition. The COP of R290 at the outdoor temperature of 45 ℃ is 9.5% higher than that of R1270. The volume efficiency of R290 at the outdoor temperature of 50℃ is 5.1% greater than that of the R32. The indicated efficiency of R290 at the outdoor temperature of 40℃ is 4.0% greater than that of the R1270. The discharge, leakage and heating are the main factors that cause the loss of indicated efficiency. Refrigerant leakage and high solubility in the oil are the main reasons for the low volume efficiency of R32 and R1270 respectively. The discharge, leakage and heating are the main factors that causes the loss of indicated efficiency.

Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems have developed rapidly in China, and the issues on where to locate the solar PV stations become critical. In some provinces, the markets are already saturated, and even solar energy curtailment has occurred due to oversupply. Thus, depicting an efficient deployment picture of the solar PV stations in China is in urgent need. To explore this issue, a profit-maximizing model is proposed to optimize the allocation of solar PV stations and interprovincial transmission strategies. The profit of solar PV stations in each province/municipality is evaluated from both economic and environmental perspectives. The economic performance is evaluated by net present value and levelized cost of energy, and the environmental benefits refer to the abatement of CO2 emissions. The results show that the northwestern and northeastern regions are not suitable to further develop solar PV systems in recent years, while the developed regions including the Yangtze River Delta, Tianjin, Beijing, and Guangdong should be encouraged to deploy more solar PV systems, especially the distributed solar photovoltaics for the commercial/industrial sectors. In 2020, the newly-added installed capacity in Zhejiang, Shandong, Beijing, and Henan is supposed to excess 8500 MW.

To combat climate change, the Chinese government has announced that the country will reach its national carbon emission peak within 2030. Various scenario studies suggest that technological advances in energy, such as energy efficiency and renewables, would be the leading determining factors for the peak in China's carbon emissions. However, most of these studies have failed to reflect the fact that China is shifting its economy from energy-intensive industries to non-energy-intensive industries, which may play a vital role in mitigating carbon emissions. To assess how economic structural changes may contribute to carbon emissions, an input-output optimization model was constructed and scenario analyses were performed. This model introduced the input-output model integrated with an optimization model to ensure the balance of economic structure in an optimal result. The results show that in 2030, China could peak its carbon emissions at 12.41 Gt CO2eq (parts per giga ton; carbon dioxide equivalent) by adjusting its energy-intensive economic structure of which the key sectors are coke refined petroleum and nuclear fuel (C8), chemicals and chemical products (C9), other nonmetallic minerals (C11), basic and fabricated metals (C12), and electricity gas and water supply (C17). The continuous increase in the added value of the tertiary industry could maintain a high GDP growth rate of 5.6% when the secondary industry is restricted to reduce carbon emissions. Accelerating the pace of China's economic transformation will be very conducive to an earlier realization of peaking CO2 emissions because the inhibition effect of structural change on carbon emissions presents an increasing marginal trend. From a policy perspective, the analytical techniques in this study could provide valuable information for decision-makers to regulate sector capital investment and formulate practical industrial policies with implications for CO2 emissions.

Landing gear system is one of the critical systems of an aircraft and is configured along with the aircraft structure because of its substantial influence on the aircraft structural configuration itself. Landing gear and its attachments are one of the principal structural elements and are useful for aircraft during taxiing, take-off and landing. In this research, A MLG sliding tube from one airline operated A320 aircraft, was returned by user, after a crack indication was discovered at one end of the axle arm. The part had completed about 25,000 cycles since new and 8,000 cycles since overhaul. The mode of crack propagation was intergranular, the crack surface was heavily corroded. A region on the outer diameter encompassing the crack had been blended prior to the receipt. No specific initiation site could be found, it was suspected based on the shape of the crack that initiation occurred from the outer diameter. Deformation was observed on the unblended inner diameter, suggesting that this location suffered a significant impact which imparted residual stress into the component. The Barkhausen noise inspection results support this.

Glioma tumor suppressor candidate region gene 1 (GLTSCR1) is associated with the progression of oligodendroglioma. However, there has been little study of GLTSCR1 in prostate cancer. In the present study, the association between the expression of GLTSCR1, and the progression and prognosis of tumors in patients with prostate cancer was assessed. An immunohistochemical analysis was performed using a human tissue microarray for GLTSCR1 at the protein expression level and the immunostaining results were evaluated against clinical variables of patients with prostate cancer. Subsequently, The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) was used to validate the analysis results at the mRNA level and to study the prognostic value of GLTSCR1 in prostate cancer. Many different approaches are needed to achieve reductions in GHG emissions from the transportation sector. Carbon emissions trading schemes (ETSs) are widely used in industry and are effective in reducing the overall social cost of emissions abatement. This article reports the development of a downstream ETS for the transportation sector and its application in Shenzhen, China. The ETS was devised as a mandatory cap-and-trade scheme and, as a first step, was applied to public transportation. An integrated cap was set on the total emissions from buses and taxis: an absolute cap for existing vehicles and a relative increment for new entrants. Allowances were allocated by grandfathering or benchmarking and a ‘reverse mechanism’ was established to encourage the transformation of urban transportation to a low-carbon system. Background Matrine is a naturally occurring alkaloid extracted from the Chinese herb Sophora flavescens. It has been demonstrated to exhibit antiproliferative properties, promote apoptosis, and inhibit cell invasion in a number of cancer cell lines by modulating the NF-κB pathway to downregulate the expression of MMP2 and MM9. It has also been shown to improve the efficacy of chemotherapy when it is combined with other chemotherapy drugs. However, the therapeutic potential of matrine for prostate cancer needs to be further studied. Methods We analyzed KEGG pathways of differential gene expression between matrine-treated and untreated prostate cancer cell lines and identified GADD45B as one of major target genes of matrine based on its role in apoptosis and prognosis value for prostate cancer patients in TCGA database. We further analyzed the expression of GADD45B protein in a tissue microarray and mRNA in TCGA database, and tested the synergistic impacts of matrine and GADD45B overexpression on proliferation, apoptosis, migration and invasion of prostate cancer cell DU145. Results Matrine promoted the expression of GADD45B, a tumor suppressive gene that is involved in the regulation of cell cycle, DNA damage repair, cell survival, aging, apoptosis and other cellular processes through p38/JNK, ROS-GADD45B-p38, or other signal pathways. Although GADD45B is elevated in prostate cancer tissues, levels of GADD45B in prostate tumor tissues are reduced at late stage of tumor invasion, and higher levels of GADD45B predict better survivals of prostate cancer patients. Conclusions Matrine may be used to treat prostate cancer patients to increase the levels of GADD45B to inhibit tumor invasion and improve patient survivals.

In order to solve problems caused by climate change, countries around the world should work together to reduce GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions, especially CO2 emissions. Power demand takes up the largest proportion of final energy demand in China, so the key to achieve its goal of energy-saving and emission reduction is to reduce the carbon emissions in the power sector. Taking Shenzhen as an example, this paper proposed a stochastic optimization model incorporating power demand uncertainty to plan the carbon mitigation path of power sector between 2015 and 2030. The results show that, in order to achieve the optimal path in Shenzhen’s power sector, the carbon mitigation technologies of existing coal and gas-fired power plants will be 100% implemented. Two-thirds and remaining one-third of coal-fired power plant capacities are going to be decommissioned in 2023 and 2028, respectively. Gas-fired power, distributed photovoltaic power, waste-to-energy power and CCHP (Combined Cooling, Heating, and Power) are going to expand their capacities gradually.

In this paper, a novel photonic-assisted Doppler frequency shift (DFS) measurement scheme based on an integrated dual-polarization Mach-Zehnder modulator is presented. In the proposed scheme, the DFS to be identified is transformed into a low-frequency electrical signal through an optical frequency-conversion link. The value of the DFS can be acquired by analyzing the spectrum of the low-frequency electrical signal. Meanwhile, the orientation of the DFS can be easily determined utilizing a 90° hybrid coupler. If the receiver is moving toward the transmitter, only the positive port has an output signal, while only the negative port has an output signal if the receiver is moving away from the transmitter. The scheme can simultaneously obtain the value and the orientation of the DFS. In addition, to investigate the frequency tunability of the proposed scheme, the DFS, which varies from -100 to 100 KHz at a step of 10 KHz for different microwave signals at frequencies of 10, 15, and 18 GHz, is demonstrated experimentally, and the errors are within ±5×10sup-6/sup Hz.

This paper presents a novel photonic-assisted microwave frequency measurement scheme based on an integrated dual-polarization Mach–Zehnder modulator (DPol-MZM). The DPol-MZM is used to obtain a polarization multiplexing signal modulated by the microwave signal with the frequency to be identified. The obtained signal is split into two channels after propagating along a single mode fiber. The two divided parts are used to establish an amplitude comparison function (ACF) which provides frequency-power mapping. The proposed scheme is experimentally verified. The frequency responses of the two branches are nearly complementary; thus, a relatively steep ACF is obtained. A frequency measurement range from 2 to 28 GHz with an error of ±0.2 GHz is achieved. Moreover, the measurement range can be tuned by simply adjusting the polarization state of one channel. The proposed system is simple, and the measurement range can be easily adjusted.

Utilizing three student (Study 1) and non-student samples (Study 2), we examined cultural differences in workplace choice for North Americans, Germans, and Japanese. We focused on the desire for control as a potential mediator (i.e., the underlying mechanism) to explain cultural differences in this important life decision. Given culturally divergent embodiments of independent vs. interdependent models of agency, we expected and found that, compared to North Americans and Germans, Japanese were more likely to prefer a workplace with a payment system that maintains social order rather than one that rewards individual achievement. Furthermore, we found that Japanese tend to give greater consideration to family opinions in their choice of workplace. As predicted, desire for control (i.e., the motivation to have control over various events) was stronger for North Americans and Germans than Japanese, and explained cultural differences in choice of workplace.

The incidences of upper third gastric cancer (UTGC) have been increasing. However, the prognostic factors for UTGC following radical surgical treatment remains largely unknown. This study was to investigate prognostic factors for overall survival (OS), lymph node metastasis and recurrence of UTGC.Clinicopathologic data of 126 UTGC patients who underwent radical surgical treatment were retrospectively analyzed. OS and univariate analysis were determined by Kaplan-Meier analysis and the significance of the difference between curves was calculated with the log-rank test. The Cox proportional hazards regression model was applied to perform multivariate analysis. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to determine the prognostic accuracy.The 1-, 3-, and 5-year OS for patients with UTGC were 81%, 47.6%, and 38.6% respectively. Severe industrial pollution has largely hindered the sustainable development of China. Taking Shenzhen’s electroplating industry as a case, this article investigates the current status of the industry and proposes a specialized policy framework to push its environmental innovation. There is a relatively complete environmental management system in Shenzhen’s government, but it does not work well when dealing with the electroplating industry, mainly because it lacks regulation aiming at production technology, which is the underlying decisive factor of the environmental performance of the industry. So, we first develop an evaluation criterion, which incorporates a technological index about whether enterprises engage identified obsolete technologies. With this evaluation criterion, enterprises are classified into “advanced” and “obsolete”. Then, we propose specific policy suggestions for different types of enterprises, including command and control mixed with economic tools, voluntary agreements, establishing electroplating parks, and improving current management system. Finally, we assess the impact of the policy proposal and prove it to be conducive to the sustainable development of the industry and conclude it from a more general perspective.

The aim of this study was to investigate the associations of serine proteinase inhibitor family G1 (SERPING1) down-regulation with poor prognosis in patients with prostate cancer (PCa). Furthermore, we aim to find more novel and effective PCa molecular markers to provide an early screening of PCa, distinguish patients with aggressive PCa, predict the prognosis, or reduce the economic burden of PCa.SERPING1 protein expression in both human PCa and normal prostate tissues was detected by immunohistochemical staining, which intensity was analyzed in association with clinical pathological parameters such Gleason score, pathological grade, clinical stage, tumor stage, lymph node metastasis, and distant metastasis. Moreover, we used The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Database, Taylor Database, and Oncomine dataset to validate our immunohistochemical results and investigated the value of SERPING1 in PCa at mRNA level. Kaplan-Meier analysis and Cox regression analysis were performed to evaluate the relationship between SERPING1 and prognosis of patients with PCa.The outcome showed that SERPING1 was expressed mainly in cytoplasm of grand cells of prostate tissue and was significantly expressed less in PCa (P0.001). Furthermore, in the tissue microarray of our samples, decreasing expression of SERPING1 was correlated with the higher Gleason score (P = 0.004), the higher pathological grade (P = 0.01) and the advanced tumor stage (P = 0.005) at protein level. In TCGA dataset and Taylor Dataset, low-expressed SERPING1 was correlated with the younger patient (P = 0.02 in TCGA, P = 0.044 in Taylor) and the higher Gleason score (P = 0.019 in TCGA, P0.001 in Taylor) at mRNA level. Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that the lower mRNA of SERPING1 predicted lower overall survivals (P = 0.027 in TCGA), lower disease-free survival (P = 0.029) and lower biochemical recurrence-free survival (P = 0.011 in Taylor). Data from Oncomine database shown that SERPING1 low expression implying higher malignancy of prostate lesions. Using multivariate analysis, we also found that SERPING1 expression was independent prognostic marker of poor disease-free survival and biochemical recurrence-free survival.SERPING1 may play an important role in PCa and can be serve as a novel marker in diagnosis and prognostic prediction in PCa. In addition, levels of SERPING1 can help identify low-risk prostate to provide reference for patients with PCa to accept active surveillance and reduce overtreatment.

Objectives To study the effects of music on anxiety and pain in children with cerebral palsy receiving acupuncture daily in a clinical setting. Design A randomized controlled trial. Setting Acupuncture Unit at Shenzhen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Shenzhen City of China. Participants Sixty children with cerebral palsy undergoing acupuncture. Methods Intervention: Children listened to their favorite music or a blank disc for 30min. Measurements: (1) the modified Yale preoperative anxiety scale for children's anxiety (mYPAS); (2) children's hospital of eastern Ontario pain scale (CHEOPS) and Wong-Baker faces pain rating scale (FACES) for pain intensity; (3) vital signs including mean arterial blood pressure (MAP), heart rate (HR) and respiratory rate (RR). Results An independent sample t -test showed significantly lower mYPAS scores in the music group 30min after the intervention compared with the control group ( t =4.72, P =0.00). Significant differences between groups were found in mYPAS scores ( F =4.270, d.f. =1, P =0.043, Partial η 2 =0.069) and over treatment duration ( F =143.421, d.f. =1.521, P =0.000, Partial η 2 =0.712). A significant interaction was also found ( F =4.298, d.f. =1.521, P =0.025, Partial η 2 =0.069). LSD's post hoc testing confirmed that the mYPAS scores significantly increased from the baseline to 1min ( P =0.000, 95% CI 14.913, 20.257) and then gradually decreased from 1 to 30min ( P =0.000, 95% CI −18.952, −13.714). For pain intensity scores, a highly significant time effect was found in both the CHEOPS ( F =87.347, d.f. =2, P =0.000, Partial η 2 =0.601) and FACES ( F =225.871, d.f. =1.822, P =0.000, Partial η 2 =0.796), and a significant interaction effect was found as well ( F =4.369, d.f. =2, P =0.015, Partial η 2 =0.070; F =5.859, d.f. =1.822, P =0.005, Partial η 2 =0.092). However, no significant difference between groups was present ( F =2.343, d.f. =1, P =0.131, Partial η 2 =0.039; F =3.738, d.f. =1, P =0.058, Partial η 2 =0.061). Significant differences between groups were found in MAP and HR ( P P P >0.05). A significant interaction effect was found in HR ( P P >0.05). Conclusions This study demonstrates that listening to music while receiving acupuncture can relieve anxiety among children with cerebral palsy; however, no effect was observed in terms of pain reduction. Further research is needed to explore the types of music which best impact an individual's treatment. Whether music results in fewer accidents and side effects of acupuncture should be investigated. Music can be considered as adjunctive therapy in clinical situations that may be anxiety-provoking for children.

S100 family proteins are calcium-binding proteins, some of which have been shown to have intracellular and extracellular functions associated with inflammation. The serum concentration of S100A12 has been reported to increase in the acute phase of Kawasaki disease. The purpose of this study was to evaluate leukocyte gene expressions of S100 family proteins in the acute phase of Kawasaki disease. Ten paired blood samples were obtained from ten patients with Kawasaki disease in the acute phase and in the convalescent phase. We examined leukocyte expression levels of 18 S100 genes in the acute phase compared with those in the convalescent phase by using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Significantly elevated expression of seven S100 genes (S100A6, A8, A9, A11, A12, S100P, and S100Z) was observed in the acute phase. Conclusion:Of the upregulated S100 genes, calgranulin members of S100 genes (S100A8, S100A9, and S100A12) were most highly expressed in the acute phase. Only one S100 gene, the S100A13 gene, exhibited a significantly decreased expression level in the acute phase.

Conventional security monitoring of civil airport usually uses fixed cameras to acquire images. There are several problems with performance including difficulties introduced in the information transmission, storage, and analysis stages of the process. Insect compound eyes offer unique advantages for moving target capture and these have attracted the attention of many researchers in recent years. This paper contributes to this research by proposing a new bionic processing mode and algorithm applying it in security monitoring of civil airport. Image matching is also illustrated with different conditions. This mode and algorithm effectively achieve safety surveillance of airport with large field of view and high real-time processing.

This paper analyses the current development situations of Shenzhen carbon trading market and China's green finance, and makes the policy recommendations for promoting the carbon trading market by developing green finance in Shenzhen. Shenzhen should take the lead in driving the localized application of green principle, and formulate Shenzhen green bond guidelines ASAP, to promote carbon trading associated enterprises to finance by using green bonds; it shall work to lower the threshold for financial institutions to participate in carbon trading market, and explore development of carbon derivatives.
