Background Robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy ( RALRP) has better effects than conventional laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP). However, limited data is available regarding the incidence and risk factors for developing postoperative delirium in patients undergoing these two procedures. This study aimed to assess the incidence of postoperative delirium in patients undergoing RALRP and LRP, and evaluated the risk factors for developing postoperative delirium Methods From June 2013 to December 2019, 81 cases of RALRP patients and 71 cases of LRP patients were included in this study. The unpaired Student t tests, repetitive measure analysis of variance and chi-square test were used to compare several different parameters. The binary logistic regression analysis was used to explore the independent risk factors of postoperative delirium . Results The incidences of postoperative delirium in group RALRP and LRP were (17.3% VS 32.4%, P = 0.03), IAP was (12.72 ± 1.87 VS 13.37 ± 1.12 mmHg; P = 0.01), PaCO2 at post-pneumoperitoneum and after loosening pneumoperitoneum were (47.89 ± 10.89 VS 38.65 ± 16.32 mmHg; P VS 43.57 ± 4.54 mmHg; P = 0.001), the overall cost was (8.29 ± 5.55 VS 5.18 ± 1.51 Ten thousand RMB, P r), post-pneumoperitoneum PaCO2 and IAP. Conclusion The RALRP group had a lower IAP, lower incidence of postoperative delirium and shorter recovery time compared with the LRP group, but the overall cost was higher. IAP was the main factor affecting the incidence of postoperative delirium.

Background Bowen's disease (BD) is a persistent, progressive intraepidermal carcinoma. BD usually occurs in areas exposed to sunlight. Involvement of the dorsum of the hand is not rare, but that of the palmar aspect is very unusual. Only a few cases have been reported in the literature. Case summary Here, we report the case of a 48-year-old male patient who presented with a history of persistent local erythema lasting for 2 years on the thenar eminence of the left palm. Initially diagnosed as hand eczema, the condition did not improve with intermittent treatment with anti-allergy medications or topical glucocorticoid ointments, among other approaches. Then, the area of erythema gradually enlarged and was accompanied by mild itching. For a definite diagnosis and treatment, the patient came to our hospital. Dermoscopic examination revealed BD, and histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis. We performed partial resection of the skin lesion followed by photodynamic therapy. No recurrence was observed at the 6-mo follow-up. Conclusion For all atypical palmar lesions, early dermoscopy and/or skin biopsy are needed to avoid missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis.

The pathological mechanisms associated with the occurrence and development of Behcet's disease (BD) are not yet known. Two large genome-wide association surveys revealed an association between interleukin (IL)-23R single nucleotide polymorphism and BD. This study aimed to investigate the association between IL-23R gene polymorphisms and BD susceptibility.Comprehensive literature search was performed across four online databases - PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of science. The included studies had to be published before May 15, 2019. The Newcastle-Ottawa scale was used to assess the quality of every included study, and pooled odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) were calculated using the allele model of inheritance to evaluate the potential associations between IL-23R gene polymorphisms and BD risk.In all, 12 case-control studies comprising 6,926 BD patients and 10,211 controls were identified and included in this meta-analysis, in which 5 loci of IL-23R gene polymorphisms were investigated. Of these 5 loci, 2 were found to be significantly associated with BD susceptibility: rs17375018 (G vs. A, OR = 1.50, 95% CI: 1.34-1.68,This meta-analysis indicated that rs17375018 (G/A) and rs924080 (T/C) were associated with BD susceptibility. Background To date, the fundamental pathophysiology underlying the occurrence and progression of psoriasis are still unanswered questions. Genome-wide association surveys have revealed that TNFAIP3 and TNIP1 were key biomarkers for psoriasis. Here, we intended to conduct a survey on the association between TNFAIP3 and TNIP1 gene polymorphisms and psoriasis risk. Methods A comprehensive search of four online databases—China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library was undertaken up to August 25, 2019. We chose allele genetic model to deal with the original data. Newcastle–Ottawa scale (NOS) was used to evaluate the risk bias of each study. The RevMan 5.3 software was used to calculate the combined odds ratio and 95% confidence interval. Results In total, we included 13 case-control studies consist of 13,908 psoriasis patients and 20,051 controls in this work. Our results demonstrated that rs610604 in TNFAIP3 polymorphism was significantly associated with psoriasis risk using random-effect model (G vs. T, OR = 1.19, 95% CI: 1.09–1.31, P = 0.0002), and a significant association between rs17728338 in TNIP1 polymorphism and psoriasis vulnerability using fixed-effect model (A vs. G, OR = 1.69, 95% CI:1.58–1.80, P Conclusions Our findings indicated that rs610604 in TNFAIP3 and rs17728338 in TNIP1 gene polymorphisms were associated with psoriasis susceptibility.

Peripheral nerve injury-caused hyperexcitability and abnormal ectopic discharges in the primary sensory neurons of dorsal root ganglion (DRG) play a key role in neuropathic pain development and maintenance. The two-pore domain background potassium (K2P) channels have been identified as key determinants of the resting membrane potential and neuronal excitability. However, whether K2P channels contribute to neuropathic pain is still elusive. We reported here that K2P1.1, the first identified mammalian K2P channel, was highly expressed in mouse DRG and distributed in small-, medium-, and large-sized DRG neurons. Unilateral lumbar (L) 4 spinal nerve ligation led to a significant and time-dependent reduction of K2P1.1 mRNA and protein in the ipsilateral L4 DRG, but not in the contralateral L4 or ipsilateral L3 DRG. Rescuing this reduction through microinjection of adeno-associated virus-DJ expressing full-length K2P1.1 mRNA into the ipsilateral L4 DRG blocked spinal nerve ligation-induced mechanical, thermal, and cold pain hypersensitivities during the development and maintenance periods. This DRG viral microinjection did not affect acute pain and locomotor function. Our findings suggest that K2P1.1 participates in neuropathic pain development and maintenance and may be a potential target in the management of this disorder.

A new radio location system integrated with RFID and WSN has been established to solve the problem. The function of RFID is to clearly mark the ID, attribute and affiliation; WSN to acquire locations of factors from the sensors; ZIGBEE to transmit the combined data (RFID and WSN data) to computers through networks. Using special software to automatically processing the received data for a visualized location map, including the following processes of A) locating survey marks with the geometric algorithm. B) Defining the types of survey marks, such as isolated points, line end points, curve end points, intermediate points etc. C) Classifying the survey marks, such as front wheels, rear wheels, skid marks, body locations, position of fallout etc.

To identify susceptibility loci for vitiligo, we extended our previous vitiligo genome-wide association study with a two-staged replication study that included 6,857 cases and 12,025 controls from the Chinese Han population. We identified three susceptibility loci, 12q13.2 (rs10876864, P(combined)=8.07 × 10(-12), odds ratio (OR)=1.18), 11q23.3 (rs638893, P(combined)=2.47 × 10(-9), OR=1.22), and 10q22.1 (rs1417210, P(combined)=1.83 × 10(-8), OR=0.88), and confirmed three previously reported loci for vitiligo, 3q28 (rs9851967, P(combined)=8.57 × 10(-8), OR=0.88), 10p15.1 (rs3134883, P(combined)=1.01 × 10(-5), OR=1.11), and 22q12.3 (rs2051582, P(combined)=2.12 × 10(-5), OR=1.14), in the Chinese Han population. The most significant single-nucleotide polymorphism in the 12q13.2 locus is located immediately upstream of the promoter region of PMEL, which encodes a major melanocyte antigen and has expression loss in the vitiligo lesional skin. In addition, both 12q13.2 and 11q23.3 loci identified in this study are also associated with other autoimmune diseases such as type 1 diabetes and systemic lupus erythematosus. These findings provide indirect support that vitiligo pathogenesis involves a complex interplay between immune regulatory factors and melanocyte-specific factors. They also highlight similarities and differences in the genetic basis of vitiligo in Chinese and Caucasian populations.

In face recognition, the class mean of the training samples may deviate from the class center in small sample size. The method based on adaptively weighted fisherface is one of the approaches to deal with the problem. However, it didnpsilat consider the face recognition efficiency. To improve recognition efficiency, the paper proposes a highly-efficient face recognition method based on weighted LDA. Firstly, the wavelet transform is applied to the face image so that the lowest resolution sub-image of the face image is obtained. Secondly, the dimension of sub-image is reduced by 2DPCA. In the end, the class means are updated by using the weighted feature vector in the reduced order subspace. The traditional LDA is improved by using the new class means. The experiments on the ORL face database show that the proposed method can achieve higher recognition rate and efficiency as well as better implementation result.

Superficial Malassezia folliculitis was diagnosed in 1–1.5% of all dermatology patients seen in a Dermatology Out-Patient clinic in Urumqi City, Xinjiang province, west China. It was most prevalent in healthy, middle-aged males in the warm seasons. This disease, first reported in 1969, is usually diagnosed as a systemic disease of immuno-compromised patients. Our findings indicate it is a relatively common superficial skin disease that can be managed with ketoconazole or itraconazole.

The genetic diversity of 43 sources of Upland cotton germplasm with different parental origins, breeding periods, and ecological growing areas in China were studied on the basis of simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. A total of 130 gene alleles with 80% polymorphism were detected from 36 SSR primers. The number of alleles per primer ranged from two to eight with an average of 3.6. The polymorphism information content (PIC) range was 0.278-0.865, with an average of 0.62. The average genotype diversity index (H') was 1.102, the highest was 2.039 and the lowest was 0.451. The average coefficient of the genetic similarity of SSR markers among source germplasm was 0.610, ranging from 0.409 to 0.865. These indicated that the genetic diversity at the genomic level of the selected source germplasm was rich, and was representative of the diversity of the germplasms, in general. The diversity at the genome level of the base germplasm from the second and third breeding periods was decreased compared to that of the first period, indicating that the cotton genetic background in China became narrow gradually. The diversity of SSR markers among the base germplasm from early maturity cotton growing areas in the north was higher than those from the Huanghe and Yangtze growing areas. The molecular marker genetic similarity index of the domestic varieties was higher than that in the introduced varieties, which indicates that the genetic diversity in domestic cultivars was lower than that in the introduced varieties. This study gives an overview of the genetic diversity of the cotton germplasm base in China, and provides a guide for breeders to develop new cultivars efficiently.

Twenty percent of 1000 dairy cows were infected with Trichophyton verrucosum in a newly established dairy farm in western China. The disease was transmitted to 30 of 100 animal workers. The source of the outbreak is unknown but it is suspected that naive cattle which were transported from Holland to China became infected after they arrived in Xinjiang province (West China) where the fungus is endemic in nature, prepuberty school children and various livestock.
