Meantime, it adopts a block regionalization sale model to standardize the operation of online stalls efficaciously and make customers have a stronger sense of satisfaction.

A diagnosis method is proposed for local separation or uneven loading diseases of slab bridge rubber supports based on modal curvature difference. An ordinary slab bridge is taken as an example and the initial finite element model considering the structural characteristics is established. The conditions of rubber supports damage are simulated, and the modal curvature differences of structure are compared under different conditions. The result shows that the damage location of suspender can be identified by the index of modal curvature difference.

China is undergoing a rapid urbanization process, and urbanization will have a direct impact on regional ecosystems and affect regional ecosystem services. Considering the mountainous counties in Southwestern China as the research object, this study reveals the spatial clustering characteristics of four typical ecosystem services (food production, soil conservation, water yield and carbon sequestration) as well as the trade-offs and synergies among ecosystem services in different urbanized areas. At the same time, piecewise linear regression is used to determine the threshold of the influence of urbanization on ecosystem services. The results indicate that: 1) There are spatial autocorrelations among the four typical ecosystem services; with strong clustering characteristics, the positive correlation types are “clustered” locally; and with significant spatial heterogeneity, the negative correlation types are scattered and mainly appear in the highly urbanized area. 2) There are also remarkable differences in the relationship among various ecosystem services in different urbanized areas, and in particular, there are marked trade-offs between food production and carbon sequestration in the moderately urbanized area and the highly urbanized area. However, there are synergies between them in the lowly urbanized area. 3) With an increase in the compounded night light index (CNLI), water yield, carbon sequestration, food production and overall ecosystem services values present an increasing-decreasing trend, the soil conservation function value shows a decreasing-increasing trend. The response of water yield, carbon sequestration, food production, and overall ecosystem services to the compounded night light index (CNLI) has a threshold of 1.2642, 1.4833, 1.3388, 1.5146 and 1.2237, respectively. Based on the detected relationships between urbanization and ecosystem services, this study provides a theoretical reference for the selection of urbanization development models in key ecological functional areas.

Taking an experimental slab bridge as an example, the initial finite element model considering the structural characteristics is established. The improved finite element model which can reflect the real state of the structure is obtained through the finite element modification method. Secondly, the first-order modal parameters of the structure are obtained by using the finite element simulation and the measured data. Finally, through comparative analysis, it is verified that the rubber bearing of slab bridge can be identified by the change of vibration mode parameters in the case of separated support.

With the development of long-distance large-capacity DC power transmission technology, and the advantage of the integrated energy pipeline simultaneously transmits electric energy and LNG, high-temperature superconducting(HTS) cable plays an important role in energy pipeline carrier because of its advantages of zero resistance, high efficiency transmission and cooling capacity sharing. HTS cables work in liquid nitrogen, and HTS cables can realize the cold energy sharing of transmission fuel and electricity. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the current carrying capacity of HTS cable based on the research of energy pipeline. In this paper, two different structures of HTS cable, coaxial bipolar and single core bipolar cable core, are analyzed by electromagnetic simulation. According to the anisotropy of each superconducting material, the influence of magnetic field on the critical current of different structures is analyzed. In order to verify the accuracy of this design, a HTS DC cable with rated current of 1000A at 90K is completed, and the relevant data parameters are given. Finally, a series of current carrying capacity tests were carried out on the HTS DC current sample, including the critical current test under different temperature, the temperature rise of the inner and outer layers of the cable core. The test results and current carrying capacity were analyzed.

This paper proposes a method of power supply path trace suitable for integrated dispatching/distribution automation system. It can realize the target device’s trace function of superior power supplies, its retrieval scope can extend to 220kV high voltage looped network, and the highest voltage level it can reach is up to 500kV. The power supply path presents directly as automatical mapping, which can reflect the power supply safety, trace process and trace result dynamically. This paper demonstrates the basic principle of the function realization, provides technical researches of power supply path tracing and automatical mapping based on integration modeling technology of dispatch. It can follow the full power supply path and observability of power supplies with higher voltage levels. The correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method are verified by different functional scenario analysis and application examples.

Aesthetic evaluation is an important part of Chinese font design and generation, but there is still a lack of scientific calculation model for effective aesthetic and style evaluation of fonts. In this paper, a method of font evaluation based on experimental aesthetics is proposed and applied to the visual evaluation and retrieval development of printed fonts. Firstly, the commonly used computer font database is selected to generate the research font map; secondly, the aesthetic scale is compiled to recruit the subjects to evaluate the aesthetic of the printed characters of the scale; finally, the collected evaluation data are collected to analyze the characteristics of each font. The results showed that there was no significant difference in aesthetic feeling among the printing fonts, but there were significant differences in styles. A retrieval system designed by using style coefficient also has the practicability of font recommendation. This evaluation method can be applied to the research of similar fonts, and further expand the font data onto the recommendation system.

The resistivetype superconducting fault current limiter (R-SFCL) is simple in structure, near zero impedance at normal state and can be quickly triggered by the fault current. Thus, it is a possible solution to limit the fault current in the power grid. In this paper, we report the fabrication and test for an R-SFCL module The R-SFCL module consists of seven bifilar coils connected in parallel, which were wound with two parallel 2G tapes. A 5mm spacer was co-wound between adjacent turns to act as the highvoltage insulation. In the tests, we test the current distribution among the bifilar coils, and then simulated short-circuit tests were conducted on the module to obtain its performance under fault current surge.

With development of mechanical and electronic technology, mechanical automation technology plays an important role in many areas. Because of high demand for food safety, mechanical automation technology in food factory is used widely. But there still is gap with advanced countries, mainly in automation software design. Through designing the automation monitoring system of food packaging production line, general process of automation control software design is introduced. And the results shows current machines are potential to work automatically and efficiently and produce goods with low lost and high quality.

Melanogenesis is a physiological process that results in the synthesis of melanin pigments, which serve a crucial function in hyperpigmentation. The aim of the present study was to determine the effects of angiotensin II (Ang II) on melanogenesis and to elucidate the molecular events of Ang II-induced melanogenesis. Experiments were performed on human melanocytes to elucidate the pigmenting effect of Ang II and the underlying mechanisms. The elements involved in melanogenesis, including melanin content, tyrosinase (TYR) activity, and microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF) and TYR expression at the mRNA and protein levels were evaluated. Melanin content and TYR activity increased in response to Ang II treatment in a concentration-dependent manner. MITF and TYR mRNA and protein expression levels were increased significantly in response to Ang II in a concentration-dependent manner. The Ang II-induced increase in melanin synthesis was reduced significantly in response to co-treatment with Ro-32-0432, a protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor, whereas co-treatment with H-89, a PKA inhibitor, did not attenuate the Ang II-induced increase in melanin levels. These results suggest that PKC is required for Ang II-induced pigmentation in human melanocytes and that the mechanism involves the PKC pathway and MITF upregulation.

A model for interactions of a single large impurity particle with the optic and pad during pad-polishing has been developed to detailedly illustrate the scratch formation process. Equations for calculating the normal load applied on the optic by the impurity particle are provided, and the friction between the optic and impurity particle has also been considered in scratch formation. Initiation and evolution of the scratches under the combined effects of the normal and friction forces are illustrated in the model. The most important factors affecting the normal load and thus scratch formation have been analyzed and verified using published experimental results. Based on the model, the implications in reduction of scratch formed on optics during pad polishing have been analyzed.

A mixture method based on exponential curve and ANN is presented according to settlement prediction of roadbed with measured data. Based on this method, the rule of roadbed settlement is classified into sure part and uncertain part. Exponential curve is used to model the sure part, and ANN to model the uncertain part, thus the mixture settlement model can be obtained. Prediction results show that the mixture model has advantages of high precision and small network scale; it provides a new method for settlement prediction of roadbed.

Objectives. To examine the associations between cardiovascular disease (CVD) and hip fracture and to determine if these associations are attributable to hypertensive disease.Methods. Data were obtained from 2006–2010 hospitalization summary reports of 31 tertiary hospitals in Beijing, China. This study included 864,408 inpatients aged ≥55 years. Occurrence rate of hip fracture was based on the first-listed ICD-10 codes (S72.0, S72.1, and S72.2) and of CVD as comorbidities were based on the second- to the eighth-listed ICD-10 codes (I00–I99).Results. The occurrence rate of hip fracture is 53% higher among older inpatients with a diagnosis of CVD than those without (, 95% CI 1.47–1.60). Those with hip fracture were more likely to have hypertensive or cerebrovascular disease, with the risk ranging from 1.34 to 1.70. Compared with those without hip fracture, the occurrence rate of overall CVDs increased by 80%, 83%, and 16% among hip fracture patients aged 55–64, 65–79, and ≥80 years. In addition, hypertensive disease did not modify the association between cerebrovascular disease and hip fracture.Conclusion. CVD was positively associated with hip fracture, and the associations observed in this sample of Chinese inpatients were similar to those reported from cohort studies conducted in the European populations.

Parthenolide (PN), a sesquiterpene lactone isolated from the herbal medicine feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium), was reported to possess neuroprotective activity. However, the neuroprotective effect of PN against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury remains unclear. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to explore the neuroprotective effects of PN against oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD)-induced apoptosis in PC12 cells and the underlying mechanisms. Our results demonstrated that PN ameliorated OGD/R-evoked neuronal injury and oxidative stress in PC12 cells. In addition, PN notably decreased HIF-1α expression, as well as inhibited apoptosis in PC12 cells after OGD/R. Furthermore, PN pretreatment significantly enhanced the phosphorylation of Akt and GSK-3β in PC12 cells exposed to OGD/R. In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that PN exhibits a neuroprotective effect against OGD/R through activation of the Akt/GSK-3β signaling pathway. Our findings suggest that PN has the potential to serve as a novel therapeutic agent for cerebral I/R injury.

moving least square meshless method is a numerical approximation based on points that do not generate the grid of cells, as long as the node information. Basis function and weight function meshless method for the calculation of accuracy have a significant impact. In order to compare the order of the base functions and powers of the radius of influence domain function meshless method for computational accuracy and efficiency , this paper selected first, second and third basis function and spline-type weight function in a different influence domain radius, respectively construct the field function. Mindlin plate element is derived based on the format of the plate bending problem meshless discrete equations. Programming examples are calculated with elastic plate bending problems non-grid solutions, and analysis and comparison of their accuracy and efficiency, results show that the meshless method using elastic plate bending problem is feasible and effective.

The correlation analysis of power load and temperature is the precondition and foundation for accurate load prediction, and a great deal of research has been made. This paper constructed the linear correlation model between temperature and power load, then the correlation of fault maintenance work orders with the power load is researched. Data details of Jiangxi province in 2017 summer such as temperature, power load, fault maintenance work orders were adopted in this paper to develop data analysis and mining. Linear regression models established in this paper will promote electricity load growth forecast, fault repair work order review, distribution network operation weakness analysis and other work to further deepen the refinement.

An airborne delay Doppler altimeter was flown in autumn 2014. A calibration suite including a GNSS buoy, two tide gauges and two GPS stations were established. An experiment was carried out to test the GNSS buoy as a whole under dynamic ocean condition, to validate its performance and accuracy via the inter-comparison of tide gauges, and to demonstrate the altimetry calibration methods and to estimate the altimeter system bias. This paper presented some methods and results. The GNSS buoy system was proven to have the ability of measuring the sea surface height within 1cm, and the altimeter system bias had a consistency of centimeter level.

The principal purpose of this paper is to develop a new analytical method for the shear lag problem of T-beams. The flange slab of a T-beam is simplified into a plane stress plate. A system of Hamilton dual equations of the flange slab using symplectic elasticity theory can be obtained. Analytical solutions of the flange slab under uniform or linear shear force applied on the entire slab length are obtained by solving the equation. Based on the solution, the cause of the positive shear lag and negative shear lag phenomenon are studied in this paper. Theoretical research indicates that the method is superior for analyzing the shear lag phenomenon. The analytical solution has been validated by comparison with the beam solution and FEM solution of a cantilever T-beam subjected to a uniform load.

With the coming of digital newspaper, user-oriented special topic generation becomes extremely urgent to satisfy the users' requirements both functionally and emotionally. We propose an applicable automatic special topic generation system for digital newspapers based on users' interests. Firstly, extract subject heading vector of the topic of interest by filtering out function words, localizing Latent Dirichlet Allocation LDA and training the LDA model. Secondly, remove semantically repetitive vector component by constructing a synonymy word map. Lastly, organize and refine the special topic according to the similarity between the candidate news and the topic, and the density of topic-related terms. The experimental results show that the system has both simple operation and high accuracy, and it is stable enough to be applied for user-oriented special topic generation in practical applications.

To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of combining Chinese medicine (CM) with Western medicine (WM) for ischemic stroke patients.Hospitalization summary reports between 2006 and 2010 from eight hospitals in Beijing were used to analyze the length of stay (LOS), cost per stay (CPS), and outcomes at discharge.Among 12,009 patients (female, 36.44%; mean age, 69.98±13.06 years old), a substantial number of patients were treated by the WM_Chinese patent medicine (CPM)_Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) (38.90%); followed by the WM_CPM (32.55%), the WM (24.26%), and the WM_CHM (4.15%). With adjustment for confounding variables, LOS of the WM_CPM_CHM group was about 10 days longer than that of the WM group, and about 6 days longer than that of the WM_CPM group or the WM_CHM group (P0.01); CPS of the WM_CPM_CHM group was United States dollar (USD) 1,288 more than that of the WM group, and about USD 600 more than that of the WM_CPM group or the WM_CHM group (P0.01). Compared with the WM group, odd ratio (OR) of recovered and improved outcome of the WM_CPM_CHM group was the highest [OR: 12.76, 95% confidence intervals (CI): 9.23, 17.64, P0.01], OR of death outcome of the WM_CPM_CHM group was the lowest (OR: 0.08, 95% CI: 0.05, 0.12, P0.01). There was no significant difference between LOS, CPS and OR of the WM_CPM group and those of the WM_CHM group (P0.05). Cost/effectiveness and incremental cost-effectiveness ratio of the WM_CPM_CHM group were robustly higher than those of the WM group.Compared with WM alone, supplementing CPM and CHM to WM provides significant health benefits of improving the chance of recovered and improved outcome, and reducing the death rate, at an expense of longer LOS and higher CPS.

This article explores the prospects for internationalizing the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing, a degree that has gained considerable popularity in the United States in the past half century but has yet to gain much of a foothold in other countries. As part of this exploration, we describe the experiences of establishing the first low-residency Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing in Asia at City University of Hong Kong, explaining the justification for setting up such a program with reference to the history of teaching creative writing and the current conditions for literary writing in English in Asia and globally. We also reflect upon the processes of planning, curriculum design, and administrative negotiation and that went into setting up the program and report on feedback from the first cohort of students. The experience of setting up this program is used as the basis for raising a number of more general issues regarding the teaching of creative writing in English in international contexts.

Regulatory T cells (Treg) mediate amelioration of disease and immune homeostasis by inhibiting immune activation and maintaining peripheral immune tolerance. The suppressive mechanisms and clinical significance of Treg have not been completely elucidated in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Here, we demonstrated that CD127 in combination with CD4 and CD25 can identify FoxP3(+) Treg in peripheral blood (PB) and bone marrow (BM) using multicolor flow cytometry. We showed that the CD4(+) CD25(+) CD127(lo) Treg frequencies were significantly increased and their phenotypes were different in PB from newly diagnosed AML patients compared to those from healthy volunteers (HVs). Moreover, the Treg frequencies were significantly higher in BM than those from PB in the same patients. The Treg frequencies were reduced when patients achieved complete remission (CR) and were increased when patients relapsed. The Treg frequencies at diagnosis in PB and BM of patients who had achieved CR were lower than those of patients who had persistent leukemia or died, respectively. CD4(+) CD25(+) Treg were isolated by magnetic-activated cell sorting and tested for suppressive functions in coculture with allogeneic carboxyfluorescein diacetate succinimidylester-labeled CD4(+) CD25(-) responder cells. Suppression mediated by Treg was higher in AML patients compared to HVs. No significant differences were observed in the cytokines production of Treg, including interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), interleukin (IL)-4,IL-2 and IL-10, between patients with AML and HVs. Our study suggests that Treg may play a role in the pathogenesis of AML, and sequential measurements of Treg frequency may have clinical value in the evaluation of therapeutic effects and clinical outcome.

So here I am, an English language fiction writer who happens to be from Asia, Hong Kong specifically, who is of Chinese-Indonesian ethnicity, and who, despite my U.S. passport (for which I exchanged my former Indonesian one) still writes fiction of my birth city, one that is hard to leave behind entirely. Of course, I am also eternally a “resident” of Hong Kong, where I have the right of “permanent abode” if permanence can indeed be ascribed to this former British colony that is now a Special Administrative Region of China, at least until the year 2046. So if you are somewhat like me, culturally and politically confused, with an ambivalent sense of identity, writing contemporary fiction from and of Asia in English, questions do arise for the practice of your art for which real and satisfactory answers are difficult to come by. One particularly troublesome one is the presumption that our lingua franca, English, is in fact a kind of “global language” that transcends culture, race, nationality, country, the “authentic” language of place, allowing you, the writer, to write fiction of that culture, race, etc., that “authentically” voices the human condition. This chapter offers a few thoughts from my perspective as such a “global fiction writer.” There are three principal questions that inform this investigation. First, does a global language for literature, meaning English, really exist? Second, in examining representative contemporary examples of fiction from Asia in English, how should we define the sensibility of such work? Hong Kong’s attempt to define a “native” English-language literature provides an example.

3-D visualization of optic disk surface is very useful in diagnosis and observation of some eye diseases. It helps physicians in understanding and interpreting the stereo disc photographs(SDPs) which is widely used in clinical situations. This paper proposed a segment-based stereo matching algorithm, which represents the fundus structure as a Bayesian network and applies belief propagation(BP) to solve the maximum a posterior(MAX) estimation. Only ground control pixels(GCPs) of the BP results are retrieved and the dense disparity map is obtained by cubic interpolation and Gaussian blurring to ensure smoothness. The resulted 3-D retinal surface shows our approach is promising.

Abstract 4718 Cytogenetic-molecular signature plays an important role in diagnosis, treatment and prognosis evaluation in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). With examination of karyotype and gene rearrangement, we investigated retrospectively the cytogenetic characteristics in 1331 adults and children with primary acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) diagnosed from November 1989 to July 2007. Cytogenetic and molecular genetic analysis was carried out successfully in 1030 (77.39%) of 1331 cases, abnormal clone was detected in 629 (61.07%) cases. The abnormalities of t(9;22)/BCR-ABL and/or t(4;11)/MLL-AF4 were presented more commonly in adults than in children (25.39% Vs 10.34%,P50) was more frequently seen in children than in adults (13.18% Vs 4.30%,P Ik6, one of IKZF1 deletion isoforms, was detected in 72.29% of ALL patients with Ph chromosome using reverse transcription-PCR amplification. In T-ALL, the frequency of the expression of SIL-TAL,CALM-AF10,HOX11,HOX11L2 gene and the mutation of NOTCH1 gene was 12.38%,4.69%,25.49%,24.51% and 32.99%, respectively. The overall survival of the children was superior to that of the adults, which was the same as previous reports by many other groups. According to the prognosis of patients, these cytogenetic-molecular signatures could be further classified into three subgroups in adult and four subgroups in children. Patients with Ik6 deletion isoform of IKZF1 gene had a significantly worse prognosis than those with wild type isoform (P=0.009). In T-ALL, patients with NOTCH1 mutation were related with poor outcome (P=0.007). Disclosures: No relevant conflicts of interest to declare.

Since May 1972, vein grafts have been used to restore circulation in electrical injuries of the upper extremity when the wrist has been the centre of electrical injury associated with obstructed blood supply. Saphenous vein grafts were used in fifteen limbs in fourteen patients where electrical injuries at the wrist threatened complete loss of the hand. Ten of the hands were free of necrosis with motion basically recovered. The other four cases (five limbs) failed in operation for various reasons, resulting in forearm amputations. Clinical practice showed that successful operations depend upon whether secondary infection is effectively controlled, particularly in those who were brought to the hospital late with wound infection and gangrene of the fingers. This paper reviews the measures for controlling postoperative infections in vascular grafting to restore blood flow at the wrist, and the clinical experience gained in treating these patients (six injured limbs of six cases), and preventing amputation. We hope the method could be improved and its use broadened.
