Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a demyelinating disease of the central nervous system, predominating within young adults. Cognitive disorders are common in MS and have are associated with several Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) markers, especially brain atrophy. Many have found the symbol digit modalities test (SDMT) to be the most sensitive individual cognitive measure relevant to MS. However, the relationship between SDMT and regional brain cortex thickness in young adults with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (YA-RRMS) has been little explored. The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between the SDMT and regional cortex thickness in YA-RRMS by FreeSurfer, which is an automatic brain structure segmentation method.Twenty-eight YA-RRMS patients (18-35 years old) were enrolled in the present study. Informed consent and information including gender, age, disease duration, number of relapses, annual relapse rate was collected from all patients. Clinical cognitive evaluations (SDMT and auditory verbal learning test (AVLT)) and daily performance: activities of daily living (ADL) were assessed in the present study. MRI scans were performed at the Institute of Neurosurgery of Tiantan Hospital. Twenty-eight matched healthy controls (HC) MRI data were obtained from Tiantan Hospital database. Data on thirty-four points of bilateral cortical structure thickness using statistically defined brain regions-of-interest from FreeSurfer were obtained from all participants.Patients with RRMS exhibited extensively thinner cerebellar cortex compared with HC. SDMT scores were significantly correlated with AVLT subentries (IM, immediate memory; DRM, delayed recall memory; LTRM, long-term recognition memory) in YA-RRMS patients (P 0.05). SDMT was strongly correlated with regional cortex thickness differences of the right temporal pole (r = 0.68) and bilateral parahippocampal areas (right r = 0.62; left r = 0.60), and moderately correlated with regional cortex thickness differences including the left superior temporal and right insula (r = 0.57 and 0.56, respectively) in YA-RRMS patients.The present study has shown the SDMT is strongly correlated with selected cortex regions including the bilateral parahippocampal area and the right temporal pole which are involved in geometric structures processing.

This paper studied semiconductor parameters for the thermal effect of laser to the others quadrants when the millisecond-pulsed laser interacted with one quadrant of the Si-based p-i-n QPD. The thermal model and intrinsic carrier model were built on the basis of the semiconductor physics and thermal conduction theory, and a 3-D simulation model was built by the method of finite element, using COMSOL Multi-physics simulation software. It was taken into consideration that when the carrier was mainly derived from impurity ionization, the intrinsic carrier concentration is lower than impurity concentration at least an order of magnitude, it means that the concentration of intrinsic carrier is no more than 5×1014cm-3, and Si-Based semiconductor detector limit working temperature is 520K. The concentration distribution of intrinsic carrier and temperature distribution of all quadrants of QPD were simulated, and got rules which they changed over time. The conclusion was gotten, the thermal-induced failure time of the other quadrants of QPD decreased with the increase of laser energy density under the same laser spot. The thermal-induced failure time of the others quadrants of QPD extended with the increase of the lengths from every quadrant to the point of peak energy when the laser energy density was same. This paper provided important data basis for further research on the study of the interaction between laser and silicon-based semiconductor detectors.

In order to develop intelligent capacitor for improving intelligent level of the capacitor, intelligent capacitor’s structure and sensors are studied in this paper. By designing external sensors and monitor scheme, intelligent capacitor with external sensor is developed. By designing built-in sensor and their overall arrangement, intelligent capacitor with built-in sensor is developed. Researches show that intelligent capacitors with external sensor adapt to the transform of old capacitors and intelligent capacitors with built-in sensor adapt to new building of capacitor platform. External sensor method can only monitor a string of capacitors, locating fault capacitor need a small amount of tests no power. Built-in sensor design can accurately monitor one capacitor’s capacitance and internal temperature. Defects of high-voltage transmission lines are often accompanied with corona discharge; and corona discharge would produce ultraviolet. Based on this principle, the UV imager can be used in detecting the defect. Electric field strength is the main factor affecting the corona discharge, which is determined by power-supply and experimental model. In this paper, UV measurement of different defects was studied, and the effect of Applied-voltage on corona discharge of defects was acquired. A quadratic relationship exists between the UV strength produced by corona discharge and applied voltage. The quadratic coefficient A is between 0.31~0.37, which is increase with the length increasing at the experimental conditions in this paper.

Scattering, fluorescence and polarization are the important data source for bioagent or bioaerosol time-space observation and identification. This paper stated and discussed the theory and data inversion principles for Mie scattering, laser induced fluorescence and polarization sensing Lidar. The sensing and data inversion results for bioagent/bioaerosol extinction coefficient, horizontal linear depolarization ratio were also demonstrated. The signal and SNR simulation of fluorescence lidar were also demonstrated. The sensing results revealed that the three kinds of detecting technology approaches are reasonable and potential for bioagent/bioaerosol characterization and recognition.
