The article discusses the pathology of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN), a unique and heterogeneous group of conditions which demonstrates differentiation towards various components of gestational trophoblast. It includes variants of hydatidiform mole (HM) which are considered benign, while choriocarcinoma (CC), placental site trophoblastic tumour (PSTT) and the epithelioid trophoblastic tumour (ETT), a variant of PSTT, are malignant gestational trophoblastic tumours (GTT).

The article presents a study which examines the difference of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), basal-like breast cancer (BLBC) and BRCA1 associated breast cancer (BABC). The study describes the pathology and biology of the three groups of tumor such as the definition of triple negative breast carcinoma by a triple negative phenotype. It discovers the great deal of overlap that exists among the three group of tumors. Therapeutic implications on such tumors are also discussed.
