Abstract

C(sub 60)(super 6-) and C(sub 70)(super 6-) in acetonitrile/toluene solvent system at -10 degrees celsius were studied using differential pulse and cyclic voltammetry at very slow scan rates. The results indicated the first reversible production of C(sub 60)(super 6-) from the reduction of fullerenes and the first stable monitoring of C(sub 70)(super 5- and 6-) fullerenes in solution.
