In this paper, we shall show the generation method of the switching patterns of the proposed PWM cycloconverter. By using these results we shall describe a control method for improving the input-output characteristics (indicating the distortions in the waveforms of the input and output voltages and currents as well as the input-to-output voltage ratio here) of the proposed PWM cycloconverter. Then, we shall show that the output current control having a good control accuracy and quick response is possible by using this control method. This paper presents the features and physical meaning of two control schemes constituting the proposed method and derives the control function used for realizing the proposed method.
