The case-based method of academic education is widespread in the United States. This phenomenon constitutes an apparent contradiction to the limitation of the case study principle in the teaching methods in secondary level schools, which has characterized the local educational practice thus far. It is against this background the aim of this article to introduce the pedagogical practice of Case Teaching and to establish what can be achieved with an event-oriented academic teaching, and finally to draw conclusions, in which scenarios and to what extent cases can be made useful and used - not just to to teach students that make them responsible citizens, but also to teach in a university context analytical skills and theoretical concepts.
