Rechargeable Li−Cl2 battery is a promising high energy density battery system. However, reasonable cycle life could only be achieved under low specific capacities due to the sluggish oxidation of LiCl to Cl2. Herein, we propose an amine‐functionalized covalent organic framework (COF) with catalytic activity, namely COF−NH2, that significantly decreases the oxidation barrier of LiCl and accelerates the oxidation kinetics of LiCl in Li−Cl2 cell. The resulting Li−Cl2 cell using COF−NH2 (Li−Cl2@COF−NH2) simultaneously exhibits low overpotential, ultrahigh discharge capacity up to 3500 mAh/g and a promoted utilization ratio of deposited LiCl at the first cycle (UR−LiCl) of 81.4 %, which is one of the highest reported values to date. Furthermore, the Li−Cl2@COF−NH2 cell could be stably cycled for over 200 cycles when operating at a capacity of 2000 mAh/g at −20 °C with a Coulombic efficiency (CE) of ≈100 % and a discharge plateau of 3.5 V. • TiO 2 supported Pt catalysts were prepared by various preparation methods. • Preparation method affected the catalytic activity in toluene total oxidation. • Oxygen activation was a key factor to determine the catalytic activity. Herein, we compared the catalyst formation process of three Pt/TiO 2 catalysts prepared by impregnation (PtTi–I), deposition precipitation (PtTi–D) and photo-deposition (PtTi–P) to investigate its effect on oxgyen activation and toluene oxidation activity. The encapsulation of TiO 2 on Pt particles induced by high temperature strengthened the metal–support interaction (MSI) but inhibited the activation of oxygen over PtTi–I catalyst, thus it showed the poorest activity in toluene oxidation. Since the selective deposition of Pt on certain face of TiO 2 during photo-deposition process, PtTi–P exhibited stronger MSI and higher activity although it possessed much larger Pt particles than PtTi–D. Waste is a misplaced resource. Herein, anionic (orange II sodium salt and Ponceau 2R) and cationic (Rhodamine B and Methylene blue) dye wastewater assisted photo-treatment (referred as DAPT) method was developed to modify sol-gel synthesized CeO 2 -TiO 2 (CeTi) mixed oxide catalyst. Catalytic activity test results showed that both anionic and cationic dye wastewater could be used as "fuel" of photo-treatment to enhance the activity of CeTi catalyst in NO reduction and dichloromethane oxidation. Characterization and DFT calculation results revealed that DAPT process increased the amount of Ce3+ ions on CeTi samples, which could induce the formation of Ce–V O –Ti (oxygen vacancy (V O) in Ce–O–Ti short range structure). These Ce–V O –Ti defects not only could be adsorption sites for NH 3 , dichloromethane and oxygen, but also promoted the redox shift of Ce3++ Ti4+ ⇋ Ce4++ Ti3+ by enhancing the oxidizability of Ce4+ and Ti4+ species. Furthermore, defects changed the polarity of Ce–O and Ti–O, which was conducive to the activation of lattice oxygen. All these improvements contributed to the excellent catalytic activity of CeTi catalysts. We expected this work to be instructive on constructing structure-activity over CeO 2 -TiO 2 based catalysts and utilizing dye wastewater. A series of P doped TiO 2 nanotubes (P-TNTs) catalysts were prepared for photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) of NO. Compared with TiO 2 nanotubes, P-TNTs catalysts exhibited excellent catalytic activity. We confirmed that P was doped into TiO 2 nanotubes lattice by XRD, Raman and TEM characterization. It was found that the enhanced PCO performance of NO was not attributed to the photoelectric properties of the P-TiO 2 from UV–vis, Mott-Schottky and transient photocurrent response results. Therefore, we focused on the studies of catalyst reaction process and reactant adsorption characteristics. The results of transient reactions showed that the catalytic reaction proceeded via a mixed mechanism of Langmuir-Hinshelwood (L-H) and Eley-Rideal (E-R) on the P-TiO 2 catalyst. In addition, P doping was beneficial to the adsorption of H 2 O 2 and NO, which is ascribed to the improved PCO performance of NO. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
