The full featured Z1 features a 1.7 gigahertz Centrino processor, 512 megabytes of memory (minimum), and a 60-gigabyte hard drive.

Naturally, all that comes at a price, and it's not cheap--$699 for the UX50 and $599 for the UX40, which comes without 802.11b but still has Bluetooth. Meanwhile back at Palm, an update to the Tungsten line was announced, the T2, which is available and selling for $399, gets a colorful new transflective display and Bluetooth connectivity. As promised, Microsoft released Pocket PC 2003 on June 23. There's an improved Connection Manager to make setting up devices and getting on networks easier and more flexible, and a new image viewing/editing application as well. Among the features being worked on for the cellphone are a new proxyless version of the Handspring Blazer web browser to enable full web browsing and secure access to corporate intranets.
