To achieve real-time monitoring of Au 3+ , a corn bract cellulose-based fluorescent probe MAC-1 for was synthesized. MAC-1 showed good fluorescence properties in DMF-H 2 O (1:9, v/v, pH = 7.4) solution, showed a fluorescence emission peak at 520 nm with quenching fluorescence properties for Au 3+ . The structure of MAC-1 was analyzed by SEM (Sample microstructure images), XRD (X-ray diffraction), FTIR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy), 1 H NMR, Elemental analysis, EDS, Mapping and TG (Thermogravimetry) were analyzed. The fluorescence properties of the probe were also characterized by UV spectrophotometer and fluorescence spectrophotometer. The results showed that the recognition of Au 3+ by the probe MAC-1 exhibited high selectivity and high sensitivity. Moreover, it is highly resistant to interference and has a short response time, which can be rapidly responded within 1 min. In addition, to improve the practical application of the probe, the probe was prepared as a fluorescent composite film and the fluorescence effect shown by the fluorescent composite film is consistent with the fluorescence change of the probe MAC-1 itself. The fluorescent composite film also has excellent selectivity and good overall physical and mechanical properties. The development of green, sustainable, biomass-based adhesives as alternatives to petroleum-based adhesives has emerged as a critical strategy in addressing environmental pollution and resource depletion. Cellulose represents an abundant and sustainable biomass material. However, the high density of hydroxyl groups along the cellulose molecular chains results in strong hydrophilicity, which limits its application in the adhesive sector. Crafting high water-resistance adhesives from cellulose is a task that is both promising and challenging. In this study, cellulose was modified to generate tosyl cellulose (TC), which was subsequently crosslinked with polyamines of varying degrees of branching. The effects of polyamine branching and the mass ratio of polyamine to tosyl cellulose on the performance of the TC-PA adhesive were investigated. The structure of the TC-PA adhesive was characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results indicated successful synthesis of the TC-PA adhesive, with the reaction between TC and polyamines leading to the formation of macromolecules. The introduction of TC significantly lowered the curing temperature of the polyamines. Consequently, this novel cellulose-based adhesive demonstrates excellent water resistance and potential for broad applications. [Display omitted] [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Iron is closely related to human life and is widely used in industrial production. It is also the highest essential trace element in the human body. A high concentration of Fe3+ is a common water pollutant that can enter the human body through the water cycle and food chain. In this paper, a novel fluorescent probe AC-NA-OH with sensitive response to Fe3+ was designed and synthesized by modifying microcrystalline cellulose (MCC). Probe AC-NA-OH can quickly and sensitively identify Fe3+ (LOD = 0.11 μM). The reaction mechanism of AC-NA-OH was verified through X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. There was a good linear relationship between the fluorescence intensity of AC-NA-OH and the concentration of Fe3+, while the fluorescence changes from yellow to colorless. Cellulose is the most abundant natural polymer with good biocompatibility and easy modification characteristics. In this paper, a novel cellulose fluorescence probe CNS for detecting ClO− was prepared by modifying microcrystalline cellulose (MCC). The fluorescence detection results indicate that CNS exhibits a highly specific "ratiometric" and "colorimetric" fluorescence response to ClO−. In the presence of ClO−, the fluorescence color changes from green to cyan. In addition, the color of the solution changes from yellow to colorless, which can be observed with the "naked eye". Considering the good selectivity and anti-interference ability of CNS , the probe can be used for the detection of ClO− in real water samples. Importantly, CNS composite films and test papers were prepared and showed practicability in the detection of ClO−, highlighting its broad application potentials.
