Currently, biometric identifiers have been used to identify or authenticate users in a biometric system to increase the security in access control systems. Nevertheless, there are several attacks on the biometric system to steal and recover the user’s biometric trait. One of the most powerful attacks is extracting the fingerprint pattern when it is transmitted over communication lines between modules. In this paper, we present a novel fingerprint image encryption scheme based on hyperchaotic Rössler map to provide high security and secrecy in user’s biometric trait, avoid identity theft, and increase the robustness of the biometric system. A complete security analysis is presented to justify the secrecy of the biometric trait by using our proposed scheme at statistical level with 100% of NPCR, low correlation, and uniform histograms. Currently, color image encryption is important to ensure its confidentiality during its transmission on insecure networks or its storage. The fact that chaotic properties are related with cryptography properties in confusion, diffusion, pseudorandom, etc., researchers around the world have presented several image (gray and color) encryption algorithms based on chaos, but almost all them with serious security problems have been broken with the powerful chosen/known plain image attack. In this work, we present a color image encryption algorithm based on total plain image characteristics (to resist a chosen/known plain image attack), and 1D logistic map with optimized distribution (for fast encryption process) based on Murillo-Escobar׳s algorithm (Murillo-Escobar et al. (2014) [38] ). The security analysis confirms that the RGB image encryption is fast and secure against several known attacks; therefore, it can be implemented in real-time applications where a high security is required. This work shows the experimental implementation of a chaotic communication system based on two Chua's oscillators which are synchronized by Hamiltonian forms and observer approach. The chaotic communication scheme is realized by using the commercially available positive-type second generation current conveyor (CCII+), which is included into the AD844 device. Abstract: In this paper, synchronization in coupled irregularly arrays of Cellular Neural Networks (CNNs) with delay is numerically studied. Synchronization of chaotic CNNs with delay is achieved by appealing to complex systems theory. In particular, we consider complex dynamical networks composed by CNNs with delay, as interconnected nodes, where the interactions in the networks are defined by coupling the first state of each node. Abstract: In this paper, network synchronization of coupled Chua’s circuits in star configuration is experimentally studied. In particular, plastic optical fiber (POF) is used in the network like communication channels among chaotic nodes to achieve synchronization. The master signal is sent to multiple slaves through a fiber optical coupler with corresponding electrical/optical and optical/electrical stages. Abstract: We have experimentally investigated chaotic power oscillations in single-longitudinal mode DFB and multi-longitudinal mode FP lasers as a function of incoherent optical feedback strengths of up to 42%. We have demonstrated the existence of chaos in the output oscillations of both laser types using classical experimental tools such as RF spectrum, standard deviation, and maximum Lyapunov exponent, which all increase with increasing of feedback strength for both in single-longitudinal mode DFB lasers and multi-longitudinal mode FP lasers. It is also shown that power switching among longitudinal modes of multimode FP semiconductor laser is a considerable portion of the chaotic power oscillations for both strong and weak incoherent optical feedback.
