Abstract

The article presents a series of experiments for undergraduate courses in the area of small molecule organic materials. The experiments aim to help students understand the electronic and redox properties of a donor-acceptor molecule that is prepared in a convenient one-step micro-scale reaction. Conventional analytical techniques were used to investigate the intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) and redox properties.
