This article discusses the potential use of ChatGPT-4, an artificial intelligence chatbot, as an auxiliary tool in diagnosing temporomandibular disorders (TMD). TMD is a complex condition characterized by musculoskeletal abnormalities in the jaw joint and muscles, leading to symptoms such as headaches and neck pain. Currently, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) are the gold standard for diagnosing TMD, but there can be delays in emergency care due to diagnostic interpretation failures. ChatGPT-4, with its ability to interpret images and describe them in human-like language, could enhance diagnostic accuracy and contribute to improving previous diagnostic methods. However, human oversight and further studies are necessary to validate this proposal. [Extracted from the article]
