Novel graphitic carbon nitride nanoparticles (NPs)-wrapped TiO 2 nanotube arrays (NTAs) (g-C 3 N 4 /TiO 2 ) were fabricated by a two-step method including an electrochemical anodization technique followed by impregnation under vacuum using urea as precursor. The as-prepared photoelectrode exhibited outstanding photoelectric properties and excellent photelectrocatalytic (PEC) performance for the degradation of phenol under stimulated solar light, which was due to the enhanced light absorption property and improved charge separation efficiency. The introduction of g-C 3 N 4 NPs strongly decreased the charge transfer resistance and boosted the charge separation efficiency of TiO 2 . The optimum ratio of the g-C 3 N 4 /TiO 2 yielded a pronounced 4.18-fold higher photocurrent density than TiO 2 . Besides, the combination of g-C 3 N 4 NPs could negatively shift for the flat band potential of TiO 2 , resulting in an enhanced reduction property for the photoelectrocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants. The PEC process for the degradation of phenol over g-C 3 N 4 /TiO 2 was much higher than the sum of photocatalytic (PC) and electrocatalytic (EC) processes indicating that a photoelectric synergy was achieved on the as-prepared photoelectrode and resulting in an improved PEC performance for the composite photoelectrode. The polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in crumb tyre rubber were firstly degraded under UV irradiation in the presence of rutile TiO2and hydrogen peroxide. The effects of light intensity, catalyst amount, oxidant amount, initial pH value, co-solvent content, and reaction time on degradation efficiency of typical PAHs in crumb tyre rubber were studied. The results indicated that UV irradiation, rutile TiO2, and hydrogen peroxide were beneficial to the degradation of PAHs and co-solvent could accelerate the desorption of PAHs from crumb tyre rubber. Up to 90% degradation efficiency of total 16 PAHs could be obtained in the presence of rutile TiO2(1 wt%) and hydrogen peroxide (1.0 mL) under 1800 µW cm−2UV irradiation for 48 h. The high molecular weight PAHs (such as benz(a)pyrene) were more difficult to be degraded than low molecular weight PAHs (such as phenanthrene, chrysene). Herein, reduced graphene oxide-polyaniline/titanium dioxide composite (rGH-PANI/TiO 2 ) with three-dimensional (3D) network structure was successfully synthesized by a two-step method involving a hybridization process and a water bath approach. The rGH-PANI/TiO 2 hydrogels showed excellent performance in the degradation of various organic contaminants. The efficiencies of rGH-PANI/TiO 2 hydrogels for photo-electro-catalytic (PEC) removal of phenol was 100% much higher than that of photocatalysis (42%) and electrocatalysis (68%) alone. Meanwhile, the efficiencies of bisphenol A and 2,4-dichlorophenol were 100% after 4.5 and 3.5 h. More important, rGH-PANI/TiO 2 hydrogels have excellent mineralization ability for coking wastewater, and the removal rates of total organic carbon (TOC) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) reached 53.1% and 71.9%, respectively. Furthermore, the activities of rGH-PANI/TiO 2 for PEC degradation of phenol were also investigated under different conditions, such as phenol concentrations, sodium sulfate (Na 2 SO 4 ) concentrations, and pH value. The results revealed that rGH-PANI/TiO 2 had outstanding PEC performance for the degradation of contaminants. This is because PANI is an excellent material for transporting holes. The large π bonds on graphene promote the rapid transfer of electrons. The addition of PANI and rGH promotes the separation of electron-hole pairs, and the degradation efficiencies of contaminants were improved. Abstract Experiments on investigating the thermodynamics properties of palladium hydride after aging as palladium tritide with different storage periods upto 6.5 years have been performed. By analyzing the experimental results, it is found that during the formation and the decomposition of palladium hydride the entropy changes maintain a linear relationship with the helium content in solid, whereas the enthalpy changes keep constant. The sum of interstitial sites in the host palladium matrix is expected to be affected by helium, resulting in the modification on the entropy changes.
