The scalable title reaction of various methyleneindolinones with mono- and 1,1-disubstituted acyclic vinyl ethers, ethylvinyl sulfide (X) and dihydropyran (XII) delivers the corresponding products in high yield, with high to excellent diastereomeric excess and with excellent enantioselectivity.
