Bike-sharing systems (BSS) have widely spread over many cities in the world as an environmentally friendly means to reduce air pollution and traffic congestion. This paper focuses on the bike-sharing rebalancing problem (BRP), which consists of two aspects: determining desired demands at each station and designing routes to redistribute bikes among stations. For the first task, we firstly apply the random forest, a very efficient machine learning algorithm, to forecast desired demands for each station, which can be easily implemented with distributed computing. For the second task, it belongs to the broad class of the vehicle routing problem with pickup and delivery (VRPPD). In most existing settings, all of the demands being strictly satisfied can lead to longer routes and add operational costs. In this paper, we propose a new model with unserved demands by relaxing demands satisfying constraints. Then, we design a distributed ant colony optimization (ACO) based algorithm with some specific modifications to increase its efficiency for the proposed model. We propose to use the percentage of average cost saving per bike as a metric to evaluate the performance of our method on cost-reducing and compare with existing methods and best-known values. Computational results on benchmarks show the advantage of our approach. Finally, we provide a real case study of BSS in Hangzhou, China, with insightful elaborations.

In recent years, China's e-commerce industry has developed at a high speed, and the scale of various industries has continued to expand. Service-oriented enterprises such as e-commerce transactions and information technology came into being. This paper analyzes the shortcomings and challenges of traditional online shopping behavior prediction methods, and proposes an online shopping behavior analysis and prediction system. The paper chooses linear model logistic regression and decision tree based XGBoost model. After optimizing the model, it is found that the nonlinear model can make better use of these features and get better prediction results. In this paper, we first combine the single model, and then use the model fusion algorithm to fuse the prediction results of the single model. The purpose is to avoid the accuracy of the linear model easy to fit and the decision tree model over-fitting. The results show that the model constructed by the article has further improvement than the single model. Finally, through two sets of contrast experiments, it is proved that the algorithm selected in this paper can effectively filter the features, which simplifies the complexity of the model to a certain extent and improves the classification accuracy of machine learning. The XGBoost hybrid model based on p/n samples is simpler than a single model. Machine learning models are not easily over-fitting and therefore more robust.

With the development of recent years, the field of deep learning has made great progress. Compared with the traditional machine learning algorithm, deep learning can better find the rules in the data and achieve better fitting effect. In this paper, we propose a hybrid stock forecasting model based on Feature Selection, Convolutional Neural Network and Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit (FS-CNN-BGRU). Feature Selection (FS) can select the data with better performance for the results as the input data after data normalization. Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is responsible for feature extraction. It can extract the local features of the data, pay attention to more local information, and reduce the amount of calculation. The Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit (BGRU) can process the data with time series, so that it can have better performance for the data with time series attributes. In the experiment, we used single CNN, LSTM and GRU models and mixed models CNN-LSTM, CNN-GRU and FS-CNN-BGRU (the model used in this manuscript). The results show that the performance of the hybrid model (FS-CNN-BGRU) is better than other single models, which has a certain reference value.

Background AIDS is a worrying public health issue in China and lacks timely and effective surveillance. With the diffusion and adoption of the Internet, the ‘big data’ aggregated from Internet search engines, which contain users’ information on the concern or reality of their health status, provide a new opportunity for AIDS surveillance. This paper uses search engine data to monitor and forecast AIDS in China. Methods A machine learning method, artificial neural networks (ANNs), is used to forecast AIDS incidences and deaths. Search trend data related to AIDS from the largest Chinese search engine, Baidu.com, are collected and selected as the input variables of ANNs, and officially reported actual AIDS incidences and deaths are used as the output variable. Three criteria, the mean absolute percentage error, the root mean squared percentage error, and the index of agreement, are used to test the forecasting performance of the ANN method. Results Based on the monthly time series data from January 2011 to June 2017, this article finds that, under the three criteria, the ANN method can lead to satisfactory forecasting of AIDS incidences and deaths, regardless of the change in the number of search queries. Conclusions Despite the inability to self-detect HIV/AIDS through online searching, Internet-based data should be adopted as a timely, cost-effective complement to a traditional AIDS surveillance system.

Spatiotemporal nonstationarity and autocorrelation are two crucial points in modeling geographical data. Previous studies have demonstrated that geographically and temporally weighted autoregressive (GTWAR) model accounts for both spatiotemporal nonstationarity and autocorrelation simultaneously to estimate house prices. Therefore, this paper proposes a kernel-based GTWAR (KBGTWAR) model by incorporating the basic principle of support vector machine regression into spatially and temporally varying coefficients model. The efficacy of KBGTWAR model is demonstrated through a case study on housing prices in the city of Shenzhen, China, from year 2004 to 2008. Comparing the existing models, KBGTWAR model obtains the lowest value for the residual sum of squares (RSS) and the highest value for the coefficient of determination R2. Moreover, KBGTWAR model improves the goodness of fit of the existing GTWAR model from 12.0 to 4.5 in terms of RSS, from 0.914 to 0.968 in terms of R2 and from 3.84 to 4.45 in terms of F-statistic. The results show that KBGTWAR model provides a comparatively high goodness of fit and sufficient explanatory power for both spatiotemporal nonstationarity and autocorrelation. The results of this study demonstrate that the proposed KBGTWAR model can be used to effectively formulate polices for real estate management.

To balance the supply and demand in China's beef market, beef consumption must be scientifically and effectively forecasted. Beef consumption is affected by many factors and is characterized by gray uncertainty. Therefore, gray theory can be used to forecast the beef consumption, In this paper, the structural defects and unreasonable parameter design of the traditional gray model are analyzed. Then, a new gray model termed, EGM(1,1,r), is built, and the modeling conditions and error checking methods of EGM(1,1,r) are studied. Then, EGM(1,1,r) is used to simulate and forecast China's beef consumption. The results show that both the simulation and prediction precisions of the new model are better than those of other gray models. Finally, the new model is used to forecast China's beef consumption for the period from 2019-2025. The findings will serve as an important reference for the Chinese government in formulating policies to ensure the balance between the supply and demand for Chinese beef.

Today, China is facing a very serious issue of Air Pollution due to its dreadful impact on the human health as well as the environment. The urban cities in China are the most affected due to their rapid industrial and economic growth. Therefore, it is of extreme importance to come up with new, better and more reliable forecasting models to accurately predict the air quality. This paper selected Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang as three cities from the Jingjinji Region for the study to come up with a new model of collaborative forecasting using Support Vector Regression (SVR) for Urban Air Quality Index (AQI) prediction in China. The present study is aimed to improve the forecasting results by minimizing the prediction error of present machine learning algorithms by taking into account multiple city multi-dimensional air quality information and weather conditions as input. The results show that there is a decrease in MAPE in case of multiple city multi-dimensional regression when there is a strong interaction and correlation of the air quality characteristic attributes with AQI. Also, the geographical location is found to play a significant role in Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang AQI prediction.
