China which is emerging as a significant regional power with the phenomenal growth in its economic and other security sectors, is trying to take the potential advantage of its locational benefit. Opening up its economy, improving bilateral and multilateral relations, resolving disputes amicably, assisting others by way of investments etc. and trying to keep up with peaceful co-existence principle, are some of its image building initiatives. Apart from this, China has been focusing on to invest in and access to Central Asian resources, particularly, hydrocarbon in view of its growing energy demand. In addition to re-drawing its regional policy and strategy owing to some recent developments on its western borders, Beijing is trying its best to strike a balance between the fast changing developments and its strategic interests in Central Asia which is seen as one of the best alternative for its energy accomplishments. This article focuses on China's strategic engagements with Central Asian states, particularly, in the aftermath of the disintegration of the Soviet Union. After analysing various compulsions and threat perceptions caused by the un-accounted nuclear fissile materials and nuclear weapons in Central Asia, particularly, in Kazakhstan, the paper talks about bilateral military and security cooperation, confidence-building measures within the framework of SCO, bilateral economic engagements and energy cooperation. Throughout the history of Albania's foreign relations, perhaps no other bilateral alliance is more curious in nature than the Sino-Albanian entente. It was spurred by two leaders who have profoundly impacted and shaped the history of their perspective countries: Mao ZeDong leader of the Communist movement in China and Enver Hoxha, leader of Albania from the end of the second world war until 1985. Each political figure provided the impetus and philosophy for the formation of two subdivisions of political thought: Maoism and the lesser known Hoxhaism. This unlikely alliance was initially characterized by shared ideology and mutual interests. Conversely, the entente between the two distant countries was also marked by a stark contrast in size, resources, and political might. This paper endeavors to examine the nature of the alliance and directly juxtapose arguments which purport the advantages and disadvantages of the relationship between the two countries. During the past decade, the Chinese government has pursued greater engagement with a range of international legal regimes. China's expanded participation in international regimes for trade and human rights, for example, can provide deeper understanding of the factors influencing China's international behaviour. Building upon scholarly perspectives about institutional compliance with treaty texts and the influence of local conditions on China's policies and practice, this article examines China's participation in international legal regimes for trade and human rights in light of dynamics of normative engagement and the paradigm of selective adaptation. Normative tensions help explain China's policies and practices on compliance with the WTO trade regime, while the imperative of normative engagement helps explain much about China's international human rights diplomacy. The article focuses on the factors that established the Sino-Israeli relationship against the backdrop of civil unrest across Arab countries. It explores the historical policy narratives that have been carried since the Cold War period, of which it has impacted several political mind-sets as far as in Jerusalem and Beijing, China. Moreover, it details the argument the highlights the elements of tactical continuity of the Chinese rhetoric via major policy shifts in Middle East.

The article presents a case study on the relationship between domestic politics and international cooperation through an examination of the massacre in Tianamen, China in June 1989. It discusses the theories on the determinants of great power relations, which debate on whether international factors or domestic political interests play a more critical role in affecting international conflicts. The article examines the incident in Tiananmen wherein students rallying for reform were violently suppressed and changed the context of the relationship between U.S. and China. It describes the differences in ideologies between U.S. and China and the effects of the massacre in Tianamen on international relations.
