Abstract

This article discusses the need for a standardized diagnostic response test in patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP). Currently, there is no established definition of therapeutic response or a response test for intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) therapy in CIDP. The authors propose a practical clinical approach supported by current literature, suggesting a standardized IVIg response test that could help avoid prolonged therapy without benefit for the patient and ensure timely treatment adjustments. The article also highlights the efficacy and safety of IVIg based on a recent study, which supports its use for diagnostic response testing in CIDP patients. [Extracted from the article]
