In India, anaemia is a widely known disease in women and children and it happens because of lack of inadequate food, Iron and Vitamin supplements. During pregnancy women require extra care and proper food supplements to avoid anaemia. The new-born child inherits anaemia through the anaemic mother and if the anaemia is at an extreme stage then it can lead to death also. The main reason for the prevalence of anemia is unawareness about its impact on the people who live in different parts of the country. This work presents a review on use of NFHS-4 dataset for anaemia understanding and the machine learning algorithms explored for anaemia prediction and classification. Further, understanding of the NFHS-4 data, anaemia and the general methodology used for determining the factors which cause anaemia in different parts of the country are presented for healthcare professionals.
