The article presents a randomized controlled trial medical research study on the effect of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) on the prostate tissue of men with late-onset hypogonadism. The objective of the study was to determine the effects of TRT on the prostate tissue of aging men who have low serum testosterone levels. According to the article, although six months of TRT normalizes serum androgen levels, it has little effect on prostate tissue androgen levels and cellular functions in aging men with late-onset hypogonadism.
