The article focuses on several studies presented at the 2007 Annual European Congress of Rheumatology (EULAR). One-year results from a phase II trial suggested the potential of golimumab for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Results from an extension of a randomized phase II study showed that belimumab is associated with durable benefits in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. Denosumab therapy prevents bone erosion in RA patients according to a study.
