Abstract

A simplified novel zero-voltage and zero-current-switching (ZVZCS) full-bridge pulsewidth modulation (PWM) converter was designed as a replacement of previously presented ZVZCS converters that have more complex circuitry. The proposed ZVZCS full-bridge PWM converter uses an auxiliary circuit which contains one small capacitor and two small diodes that serves as the clamp for secondary rectifier voltage and channels ZVZCS conditions to primary switches.

Abstract

To improve power factor and to meet IEC 555-2 harmonic requirements, input power-factor correction circuits have been used, widely, in the power supply industry. In response to the trend, this study proposes and investigates a simple controller for a single-phase ac to dc rectifier with input power factor correction.
