The article discusses a meeting of the World Meteorological Organization Commission for Climatology on September 7-9, 2010 sponsored by Great Britain's Meteorological Office. It states the meeting discussed the creation of a comprehensive, traceable data bank of global surface temperature and facilitate high-quality, robust data product creation to meet the needs of 21st century climate research.
