Abstract

The article discusses the results of a meta-epidemiological study aimed at identifying how treatment effects for mortality from observational studies with routinely collected health data (RCD) agree with the results from subsequent trials on the same clinical question. RCD studies showed more favourable mortality estimates than trials.
