Among the scientific methodologies used to measure the Science, the Social Network Analysis (SNA) is considered a very useful means to assess the quality of the networks established by the Science. The SNA offers the possibility of simulating the relationships established by different factors, such as the scientific collaboration, the analysis of subjects, or the relationships of scientific journals. The Arts & Humanities Citation Reports (A&HCI) and Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) databases of the Web of Science (WoS) have been selected as sources of information. From these databases, we analyze the behavior presented by the 550 journals classified in the different thematic categories of literature. It is proven that the current interdisciplinarity in literature results from collaboration with 11 other scientific branches, among which linguistics and history stand out. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The objective of this research is to analyse the evolution of scientific collaboration within Spanish psychology through papers signed by an author who belonged to a Spanish institution of psychology between 1970 and 1989. We analysed a total of 2891 papers published in 29 journals of psychology between 1970 and 1989, examining the scientific collaboration through network analysis, using the UCINET program and Netdraw software. The results indicated that there has been an increased number of papers, authors and signatures over the years, as well as an increased scientific collaboration. Between 1985 and 1989, co-authored papers overcame single-author papers. It is shown that the number of authors, as well as of collaboration groups, increased over the years under study. It can be concluded that it was in the second half of the 1980s when scientific collaboration within Spanish psychology increased considerably. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this study was to determine author productivity and scientific collaboration in the Journal Ansiedad y Estrés during the period 1994-2011 using social network analysis methodologies. Social network analysis is a tool increasingly used to understand the relationships between the different elements that comprise a bibliographic scientific work. In this paper researchers' collaboration patterns have been studied and networks of coauthorship and collaboration have been built to identify the different research groups. Results show an increase in the number of works published by women throughout the period studied. The information collected was analyzed using Pajek and Ucinet programs and network graphics were designed with Netdraw graphics software. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
