Research has been conducted on the triarylphosphanes and dioxorhenium(VII) compounds. The reaction kinetics between these compounds has been investigated and the results are reported.

Research has been conducted on the rhenium tricarbonyl bipyridine complexes. The spectroscopic characterization of these complexes has been carried out and the results demonstrate that they catalyze benzylideneaniline aziridination with ethyl diazoacetate.

Research has been conducted on the diaminedithiol ligand system. The chemistry exhibited by this system has been investigated and the isolation of the cyclic ligand and of the rearranged complexes is described.

Research has been conducted on the oxorhenium(V) and imidorhenium(V) complexes. The synthesis and characterization of these complexes which incorporate chelation by 2-(2-pyridyl)azoles have been carried out and the structural analysis results indicate the presence of a short metal-oxo bond.

The photophysical properties of these complexes including a bis-bipyridyl pyrene ligand have been investigated in examining the intramolecular energy migration between metal-to-ligand charge transfer states which are localized on the metal complexes and pyrene-localized states and the results are presented.

Research has been conducted on the nitrile complexes. The treatment of these complexes with SiMe (sub)3 CF (sub)3 SO (sub)3 in CH (sub)2 Cl (sub)2 has led to formation of the methyleneamide (azavinylidene or alkylideneamide) compound formation and the details are presented.

Research has been conducted on the diphosphine-bridged bioctahedral dirhenium(II) complexes. The study of the multiply bonded dirhenium complexes incorporated into supramolecular assemblies has been carried out and the details are discussed.

Research has been conducted on the polypyridyl d (super)6-W(0) and Re(I) carbonyl complexes. The results of the photophysical and photochemical analysis of some of these complexes which incorporate ferrocene end-capped pyridine ligands are reported.

The preparation and the photophysical characterization of the bimetallic species which contain the (phen)Re (super)I (CO) (sub)3 and Os (super)II (trpy)(bpy) units (bpy= 2,2'-bipyridine; phen= 1,10-phenanthroline; trpy= 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine) is reported.

Research has been conducted on the dirhenium(III) non-metal-bonded edge-sharing complex. The reduction and oxidation rates of this complex have been investigated and the results are reported.

Research has been conducted on the oxorhenium(V) and arylimidorhenium(V) complexes of the Schiff base ligands. The preparation of these complexes has been carried out and the results indicate that the complexes are highly stable and reduction resistant even when treated with the organic phosphanes.

Research has been conducted on the oxorhenium(V) compounds. The preparation and characterization of these compounds have been carried out and the results indicate that the formation of the metastable isomer is consistent with the mechanism assigned to the ligand substitution and reacemization reactions.

Research has been conducted on the terminal Re-Cl bond which is cis to the bridging CO ligand in the edge-sharing bioctahedral complexes. The liability of this bond has been investigated in the mixed-metal assembly preparation in which the dirhenium units are bound to other metals via NCS or CN bridges and the results are reported.

Research has been conducted on the azobenzene-conjugated Ru(II) and Rh(III) bis(terpyridine) mononuclear and dinuclear complexes. The synthesis of these complexes has been carried out and their photochemical properties have been investigated.

Research has been conducted on the carbon-carbon bond activation by metal complexes. The use of the cationic Rh(III) complex in activating of R-CN (R= Me, Ar, (super)i Pr, (super)t Bu) by the carbon-carbon bond is described.
