The novel metal coordination polymer [Mn(L)2(H2O)2]n, was synthesized and characterized. Fluorescence and UV absorption spectroscopy indicates that the ligand and Mn(II) comploud can bind to fish sperm DNA (FS-DNA). Gel electrophoresis assay demonstrated the ability of the ligand and Mn(II) complex to cleave the HL-60 plasmid DNA. Apoptotic study shows the complexes exhibited significant cancer cell (JEKO-1 and KB) inhibitory rate. The results indicate that the complexe and the ligand bound to DNA with different binding affinity, in the order the Mn(II) complex > the ligand. Oxygen and nitrogen atoms which chelated with Mn(II) forming hydrogen bonds with N6 atom of adenine and O4 atom of thymine to affect the stability of DNA from Molecular docking study. A coordination polymer, [Cd(L)2(H2O)2]n(HL = 2-methyl-1H-4,5-imidazoledicarboxylic acid), was prepared from reactions of Cd(NO3)2with L at room temperature. It was characterized by IR spectra and elemental analysis. The complex was structurally characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction revealing that the complex crystallizes in monoclinic withP2(1)/cspace group,a = 12.203(10) Å,b = 9.332(8) Å,c = 7.554(7) Å,β = 100.894(2) Å,V = 844.7(13) Å3,Z = 2. A series of lanthanide-organic framework coordination polymers, {[La2(TDC)2(NO3)(H2O)4](OH)·5H2O}n(1) and [Ln(TDC)(NO3)(H2O)]n(TDC = thiophene- 2, 5- dicarboxylic acid; Ln = Nd(2), Sm(3), Eu(4), Gd(5), Tb(6), Dy(7), Ho(8), Er(9), Yb(10)) have been synthesized by solvothermal reaction and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, TG analysis, single-crystal X-ray diffraction and power X-ray diffraction. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis results show that 1displays a 3-D porous framework with (3,7)-connected {410.611}{43} topology. The compounds 2–10crystallized in the same P21/cspace group and exhibits a (3,6)-connected {4.62}2{42.610.83} topology, Right-handed and left-handed helical chains coexist in the 2-D layer structure. The complexes [Pb 4 L 4 Cl] n (1) (HL = 4′-(4-(4‑carbonylphenyl)phenyl)-2,2′:6′2″ -terpyridine) and [PbL′(NO 3)·NO 3 ] n (2) (H 2 L′ = 4′-(4-(3,5-dicarbonylphenyl)phenyl) -2,2′:6′2″-terpyridine) were synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR sprectra and PXRD. Complex 1 is a 2D coordination polymer with one-dimensional open channels in the size of 18.35 × 18.35 Å2, while complex 2 has a coordination chain with an open channel. Both 1 and 2 can further stretched to a 3D supramolecular structure through π–π stacking interaction. The results of solid-state fluorescence spectrum at room temperature showed that complexes 1 and 2 exhibited blue light fluorescent property. They can be used as potential fluorescent materials that emit blue light. Hydrothermal reaction of rare earth oxides with 1H-benzimidazole-5,6-dicarboxylic acid (H 3 bidc) and MnSO 4 ·H 2 O afforded a series of new three-dimensional (3D) coordination polymers, namely, [Ln 2 Mn(Hbidc) 2 (SO 4 ) 2 ·8H 2 O] n (Ln = Sm ( 1 ), Eu ( 2 ), Tb ( 3 ), Dy ( 4 ) and Ho ( 5 )) and [Gd 2 Mn(Hbidc) 2 (SO 4 ) 2 ·7H 2 O] n ( 6 ). Their structures have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses and further characterized by elemental analyses, FT-IR, powder X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA). The single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that coordination polymers 1 – 6 have similar 3D frameworks fabricated through Hbidc 2 − and SO 4 2 − bridging dinuclear lanthanide secondary building units. Moreover, the photoluminescence of complexes 1 – 4 and magnetism of complexes 4 and 6 have been investigated, 4 exhibits remarkably slow magnetic relaxation behavior with the energy barrier Δ E / k B = 83.3 K. Abstract: Heterometallic coordination polymers of the form {[SmMn2(imdc)2(OAc)(H2O)]·2H2O} n (1) (H3imdc=4,5-imidazoledicarboxylic acid, HOAc=acetic acid) were hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Abstract: A novel 4d–4f heterometallic coordination polymer [EuAg(imdc)2] n (1) (imdc=imidazoledicarboxylate) has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray single-crystal structural analysis reveals that 1 is a three-dimensional framework. Furthermore, 1 also displayed photoluminescent properties in the red range at room temperature.
