Describes the electrodeposition of soft switching, spin-valve cobalt/copper heterostructures onto n-type gallium arsenide. Magnetoresistance measurements showing a double switching step possibly due to the free layers having differing coercivities; In-plane anisotropy induced by the Co/GaAs interface in the films.
