One two-dimensional heteropolyoxoniobate compound H9[Cu(H4dap)2(H2O)]8{K[Cu(H3dap)2]4}2[VNb12O40(VO)4]3[VNb12O40(VO)4(VO)]·48H2O (1) (H4dap = 1,2-diaminopropane) was obtained by a hydrothermal method. In this mixed 2D layer, the ratio of four- and five-vanadium-capped Keggin heteropolyoxoniobates is 3 : 1. A bisupporting Keggin-type polyoxometalate compound, {[CuII(phen)2]2[(HBW12O40)]}[CuIICl2(phen)]2· 2H2O (phen=1,10-phenathroline) (1), has been synthesized through the hydrothermal method and characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, UV/Vis/NIR spectroscopy, and powder and single crystal X-ray diffraction. A 2-D coordination polymer, (C7N4H16)2{NH(CH3)3}[{K(H2O)}4Na(H2O)5{Co4(H2O)2(B-a-PW9O34)2}]·2H2O (1), was hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, X-ray powder diffraction, and X-ray single-crystal crystallography. Crystal structure analysis shows a triclinic space group Pī with a=12.4677(8)Å, b=12.5054(8)Å, c=18.5745(1)Å, a=73.3220(1)°, ß=87.1890(1)°, ?=62.2710(1)°, and V=2443.4(3)Å3. Sandwich-type tetra-cobalt(II)-substituted [Co4(H2O)2(B-a-PW9O34)2]10- of 1 consists of two trivacant Keggin [B-a-PW9O34]9- moieties and a rhomb-like Co4O16 unit. Each sandwich-type polyoxotungstate subunit connects 12 K(1) and K(2) centers from two adjacent 1-D K-chain units resulting in an interesting 2-D layer framework. Abstract: Two new two-dimensional coordination polymers [Cd3L2(SCN)6] n (1) and [CdLI2] n (2) have been synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, TG technique, XRPD and complete single crystal structure analysis, where L is 4-(pyridine-2-yl)methyleneamino-1,2,4-trizaole. Asymmetrical Schiff-base ligand L with five- and six-membered N-containing heterocyclic rings acts as a tridentate bridging ligand to bind two Cd(II) centers through one terminal Ntriazolyl and one pyridylimine chelate unit in 1 and 2. For polymer 1, tridentate bridging ligands link Cd-(1,3-μ-SCN−) 1D inorganic chains to form a 2D layer network. The existence of Cπ and πtacking interactions between 2D hybrid layers further gives rise to a 3D supramolecular network. In comparison with 1, polymer 2 shows a 2D layer network containing hexanuclear macrometallacyclic units. The 2D layers are staggered together through the combination of Cπ and πtacking interactions and forming a 3D supramolecular structure. Abstract: Two cadmium inorganic–organic hybrid coordination polymers [CdL(SCN)2] n (1) and [CdLI2] n (2), have been synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, XRPD, thermogravimetric (TG) analyses and X-ray crystallography, where L is 4-(pyridine-4-yl)methyleneamino-1,2,4-triazole. Asymmetrical Schiff-base ligand L acts as a bidentate bridging ligand to bind two Cd(II) centers through two terminal Ntriazolyl and Npyridyl donors in polymers 1 and 2. Abstract: A novel copper(II) inorganic–organic hybrid compound [CuL(DMF)(CH3OH)]2(PMoVMoVI 11O40)·2DMF (L=phenyl 2-pyridyl ketone azine) 1 has been synthesized and characterized by IR, UV, elemental analysis and X-ray crystallography. Cu(II) atom has a distorted square pyramidal environment interconnecting with N3O2 donor set. In solid-state there are three types of Cπ interactions between adjacent [CuL(DMF)(CH3OH)]2+, which generate a two-dimensional (2D) layer. Adjacent 2D layers form porous channels in which polyoxoanions as templates are filled. Simultaneously, the oxygen atoms of polyoxoanion as electron acceptors feather multiple intermolecular hydrogen bonds, through which giving rise to a 3D supramolecular network. A new coordination polymer [Ag2L1.5(NO3)2(CH3CN)]n (1) (L = N,N′-bis(furan-2-ylmethylene)hydrazine) has been synthesized and characterized by IR, UV, elemental analysis, 1H NMR, and X-ray crystallography. A new helical copper (II) complex [(CuL)2.5(H2O)0.375] 1 (H2L = benzil bis[(5-bromo oxidobenzylidene)hydrazone]) was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, UV-vis spectra, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 exhibits a new single-stranded helix with the copper (II) atom having a four-coordination seesaw geometry. Abstract: Two new inorganic–organic hybrid polymers [ClBzQl]2[Cd(SCN)3.5Br0.5]·0.25H2O (1) and [ClBzMePy][Cd(SCN)3] (2) (ClBzQl=1-(4′-Cl-benzyl)quinolinium cation and ClBzMePy=1-(4′-Cl-benzyl)-2-methylpyridinium cation) have been synthesized and characterized by IR, UV, elemental analysis and X-ray crystallography. Crystal structure analyses show that two polymers belong to the monoclinic space group P2/n (1) and P21/c (2) with a =18.548(2)Å, b =9.526(1)Å, c =20.689(2)Å, β =94.008(1)°, V =3646.6(5)Å3 for 1, and a =11.195(2)Å, b =16.415(3)Å, c =10.751(2)Å, β =102.930(3)°, V =1925.7(7)Å3 for 2. The Cd atom exhibits a distorted octahedral coordination geometry for 1 and 2. For 1, a pair of 1,1-μ-SCN− anions and a pair of 1,3-μ-SCN− anions are alternately bridge adjacent Cd centers to form infinite polymeric chains. For 2, adjacent Cd atoms are linked by three 1,3-μ-SCN− anions to form infinite [Cd(SCN)3 −]∞ polymeric chains. A new bisupporting metal-oxygen cluster with bicapped pseudo-Keggin compound [CuII{Cl0.5Cl(phen)}]2 {[PMoV6MoVI6O40(VIVO)2][CuII(phen)2]2}·2H2O (phen = 1,10-phenathroline) has been synthesized by hydrothermal method and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, TGA, XRPD, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The polyoxoanion consists of a bicapped vanadium Keggin polyoxoanion and two {[Cu(phen)]2}2+ subunits producing bisupporting bicapped Keggin-polyoxometalate structure. Abstract: A novel two-dimensional helical coordination polymer [Ag(CH3CN)4][Ag3(CH3CN)8(SiMo12O40)] (1) has been gained by the conventional self-assembly reaction, and characterized by IR, elemental analysis, UV, TG technique and X-ray single crystal diffraction. Each [SiMo12O40]4− cluster interconnects with three bimetallic cation subunits through three Mo–O–Ag bridges, meanwhile, each bimetallic cation subunit is surrounded by three [SiMo12O40]4− to form an unprecedented two-dimensional network structure. The metal–metal bonds between Ag(1) and Ag(2) atoms from the adjacent helical chains connects the chains together into a chiral 2D helical network. The 2D network structures are further interconnected with each other to form a 3D supramolecular network through multiform intermolecular hydrogen bonds. Abstract: Two luminescent Cd(II) complexes [RBzPy][Cd(SCN)3] for R=Cl (1) and Br (2) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. The Cd atoms are all N3S3 hexa-coordinated with six bridging SCN− and form infinite [Cd(SCN)3]∞ polymeric chains. The synthesis, molecular structure and spectroscopic and magnetic properties of (NH4)2(15-crown-5)3[Ni(mnt)2]2 (mnt  =  maleonitriledithiolate dianion) are reported. The most notable structural feature of (NH4)2(15-crown-5)3[Ni(mnt)2]2 is that the ions form a stacked structure with well-separated columns along the c and a axes. Abstract: Two two-dimensional d10-metal-organic frameworks {[CdL2(NO3)2]·(H2O)6} n (1) and {[Zn2L4(NCS)4]·(H2O)4·(CH3OH)} n (2) have been synthesized and characterized by IR, elemental analyses, XRPD, TG technique and complete X-ray single crystal structure analyses, where L is bis(pyridin-3-ylmethylene)biphenyl-2,2′-dicarbohydrazide. The two polymers display similar 2D layer network containing tetranuclear metallacyclic ring units [MII 4L4] (M=Cd (1) and Zn (2)) in the chair conformation, in which each ligand L acts as a bidentate bridging ligand to bind two metal centers through two terminal pyridyl N-donors. The solvent molecules were filled into the macrometallacyclic ring units through multiform hydrogen bonds. In addition, the Cπ interactions are found in the 2D networks and also play an important role in stabilizing the networks. Abstract: A new inorganic–organic hybrid compound [FTMA]2[Co(NCS)4] (FTMA=ferrocenylmethyltrimethylammonium cation) has been synthesized and characterized by IR, UV, elemental analysis and X-ray crystallography. Co(II) atom has a distorted tetrahedral environment with four N atoms of four NCS− anions. In the solid state there are C–H⋯π interactions between adjacent ferrocenyl cations, which generate one-dimensional (1-D) supramolecular chain, and C–H⋯S hydrogen bonds between [FTMA]+ cations and cobalt thiocyanate anions. Abstract: A novel heteronuclear polymeric complex Cd(SCN)3Cu(en)2NO3 (1) (en=ethylenediamine) has been synthesized and structurally characterized. The Cd(II) atom is surrounded by three S atoms and three N atoms from four 1,3-μ-SCN− and two 1,1,3-μ-SCN− to attain a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. Six Cd(II) centers are linked by twelve thiocyanato bridges to form hexagonal metallocyclic unit [Cd6(SCN)12] and extend a 2D network. A Fe 4 -substituted sandwich-type tungstoantimonate derivative, H 2 (C 6 NO 2 H 6) 2 {[Na(H 2 O) 4 ] 2 [Fe 4 (H 2 O) 10 (B- β -SbW 9 O 33) 2 ]}∙20H 2 O (1), has been synthesized and characterized by IR, PXRD, UV–Vis, CV and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. This compound consists of two trivacant B- β -Keggin [SbW 9 O 33 ]9− units with four FeIII cations located on the sandwich belt. Compound 1 shows an excellent catalytic activity to the reaction of H 2 O 2 -based oxidation of cyclooctene. In addition, antiferromagnetic exchange interactions have been observed among four Fe(III) centers of the sandwich-type ion. Free ligands interact with the adjacent Ag(1)-double-chain units and Ag(2)-double-chain units to form a 3D supramolecular structure through multiform hydrogen bonds. For polymer 2, each ligand acts as a bis-monodentate bridging ligand to bind adjacent Zn(II) centers forming a one-dimensional chain structure. One inorganic–organic hybrid phosphomolybdate H 12 [(PMo 6 O 21 ) 2 (1,4-NDC) 3 ]·37.5H 2 O ( 1 ) (1,4-H 2 NDC=1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid) has been synthesized and well-characterized. Compound 1 exhibits a lantern-type dimer constructed by Mo−O−C bonds between a couple of [PMo 6 O 21 ] 3− polyoxoanions and three 1,4-NDC 2− ligands, and displays obvious fluorescent emission at room temperature as a result of the use of functional organic component. The spectroscopic experiments show that compound 1 displays a sensitive and reversible fluorescence response to the pH values in the aqueous solution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A new molybdenum(V) cobalt phosphate, [Co(H 2 O) 6 ]{[Co(H 2 O) 5 ] 2 Co 2 [(Mo 16 O 32)C O16 (HPO 4) 14 (PO 4) 10 (H 2 O) 15 ]}·38H 2 O (1), has been prepared under hydrothermal condition, which displays a nonplanar two-dimensional inorganic framework constructed from [(Mo 16 O 32)Co 16 (HPO 4) 14 (PO 4) 10 (H 2 O) 15 ]10− wheel clusters and tetrahedral CoO 4 linkers. Each wheel forms by the linking of {Co 4 O 16 } tetramers and {Mo 4 O 19 } tetramers through {PO 4 } groups in turn, and concurrently has two pendant Co(H 2 O) 5 groups. The susceptibility analysis shows that the d1 electrons in the MoV dimers are spin-paired and the dominant antiferromagnetic behavior is originated from the 21 high-spin CoII ions in 1. A novel heterometallic 2D coordination polymer, {[Ba(H2O)4(CuL)2]}∞ (1) (H3L=N-2-hydroxyacetophenoneglycylglycine), was synthesized by self-assembly between metalloligands [CuL]− and the Ba(II) ions. The structure reveals the polymer contains hexanuclear building blocks, which are connected to form 28-membered decanuclear metallocycles, and are assembled further into 2D network structure.
