Abstract
The article reports on an emergency assistance program offered by the U.S. Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) assistance program for associations and individuals with damaged paper-based collections. The NEDCC staff members provide telephone advice to individuals and institutions to deal with damage from fire, pests or mold. On-site assistance is not included in its services. The NEDCC does not charge anything for its service. The U.S. National Endowment for the Humanities offer grants to the NEDCC.
