Dissertation, Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen, 2019; Aachen Online-Ressource (III, 266 Seiten) : Illustrationen (2019). = Dissertation, Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen, 2019, The present work shows the example of an innovative research institute (ITA) together with a related technology transfer company (3T – since 2016 ITA GmbH), how technology transfer from the 'appendix' of a funded university institute focused on public projects became an independent and profitable area. The results are based on a seven-year explorative study from an ITA / 3T approach based on a long-term strategy. The respective steps were iteratively advanced, evaluated with control loops and self-critical evaluation of the result and ultimately led to improved variants or demolition. The findings from the work ultimately confirm the deepened strategy, but also show the fragility of the RESOURCES as soon as the path is outside the "comfort zone", i.e. new industries, new markets or simply increased demands on scientific performance. The developed guideline in the form of a "technology compass" is intended to take away the user's fear of using unknown fields, through documented experience (explicit knowledge), in order to find entry into new highly interesting areas. A constant updating of the databases, a clear representation of the resource status as well as the improved determination of the HUMAN resources and KNOWLEDGE help to control the available performance better in order to reduce risks and quality problems in project and market processing. The success of the tool is based on the necessary change of the system with consolidation of the structures, the implementation of a dynamic resource planning, the modification of the organization structure and the implementation of new management systems as well as a sustainable progressive strategy. At least are the presented development phases always an attending part of the system and tool development - with a very close success control and evaluation. The results of this work offer the technology providers, as well as the technology investigators, a guideline for technology transfer in a future-orientated and sustainable manner. An important step for a successful implementation of the dynamic resource-optimized technology transfer was the consolidation and further development of the existing organization structure of technology provider and technology agent. The created tool ‘Technology compass’ is a necessary requirement for a running system with consideration of the defined resources as well as the organization and the procedure of order transaction. Running management systems, project management procedures or existing successful structure are considered to be integrated in the new system of structured decision-making procedures up to autonomous modification routines., Published by Aachen
