Un-proctored online test/examination increases the occurrence of academic dishonesty which is a major factor in maintaining academic integrity. A major challenge for the course instructor is the lack of resources to conduct proctored test. To tackle the challenge posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, an alternative strategy to traditional invigilated test or examination is the conduction of online open book assessment. The focus of the online open book assessment is to gauge individual student's development of knowledge, learning and experience against established academic/professional standards. In the current work, quality of the examination is assessed based on the performance of the students. This is done to ensure that the students meet the adequate program outcomes to complete the requirements for higher studies or a work setting. The question paper setting pattern and analysis of the learner's performance are very critical to ensure learning according to Bloom's Taxonomy level. A case study of Engineering Chemistry open book quiz and test analysis is performed to improve the quality of the question paper. Question papers are prepared using Achievable Matrix focusing on Bloom's Taxonomy level. Preparing questions focusing on Bloom's Taxonomy level is an effective tool for potent learning that supports long term retention. The quantitative analysis is done using Normal Distribution plot and item analysis such as facilitation value and discrimination index. The mathematical analysis has given insight to improve the quality of question paper while preparing for deeper learning in higher education.
