Abstract

The aim of this paper is to describe and analyze the discourse utilized by President George Bush after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. I carried out the analysis of the discourse strategies used by the main actors involved in justifying of the war on their foes. As a method for analyzing the discourse I relied on frame analysis. Framing involves selecting certain aspects of the reality perceived into a text in order to endorse definitions of the protagonist, antagonist and the conflict and then to propose some alternatives for the solution of said conflict.
