The local dynamics of systems of two equations with delay is considered. The main assumption is that the delay parameter is large enough. Critical cases in the problem of the stability of the equilibrium state are identified, and it is shown that they are of infinite dimension. Methods of infinite-dimensional normalization are used and further developed. The main result is the construction of special nonlinear boundary value problems that play the role of normal forms. The authors of this paper examine uniformly asymptotically stability (UAS). uniformly boundedness (UB). ultimately uniformly boundedness (UUB) and existence of periodic solutions (EPSs) of certain nonlinear delay differential equations (DDEs) of third order with multiple constant delays. They prove two results and give a corollary on these properties of solutions. The main results of this paper have sufficient conditions and the technique of the proofs for these results is based on construction of a proper Lyapunov- KrasovskiT function (LKF). In this paper, we analyze a system of delay differential equations incorporating prey's refuge, fear, fear-response delay, extra food for predators and their gestation lag. First, we examined the system without delay. The persistence, stability (local and global) and various bifurcations are discussed. We provide detailed analysis for transcritical and Hopf-bifurcation. The existence of positive equilibria and the stability of prey-free equilibrium are interrelated. It is shown that (i) fear can stabilize or destabilize the system, (ii) prey refuge in a specific limit can be advantageous for both species, (iii) at a lower energy level (gained from extra food), the system undergoes a supercritical Hopf-bifurcation and (iv) when the predator gains high energy from extra food, it can survive through a homoclinic bifurcation, and prey may become extinct. The possible occurrence of bi-stability with or without delay is discussed. We observed switching of stability thrice via subcritical Hopf-bifurcation for fear-response delay. On changing some parametric values, the system undergoes a supercritical Hopf-bifurcation for both delay parameters. The delayed system undergoes the Hopf-bifurcation, so we can say that both delay parameters play a vital role in regulating the system's dynamics. We are motivated by the idea that certain properties of delay differential and difference equations with constant coefficients arise as a consequence of their one‐periodic nature. We apply the recently introduced definition of periodicity for arbitrary isolated time scales to linear delay dynamic equations and a class of nonlinear delay dynamic equations. Utilizing a derived identity of higher order delta derivatives and delay terms, we rewrite the considered linear and nonlinear delayed dynamic equations with one‐periodic coefficients as a linear autonomous dynamic system with constant matrix. As the simplification of a constant matrix is only obtained for one‐periodic coefficients, dynamic equations with one‐periodic coefficients are the simplest form compared to the commonly used constant coefficients. In this paper, we propose a social contagion model with group interactions on heterogeneous network, in which the group interactions are represented by incorporating higher-order terms. The dynamics of the proposed model are analyzed, revealing the effect of group interactions on the system dynamics. We derive a global asymptotically stability condition of the zero equilibrium point. If the parameters enhancement factor and transform probability meet the condition, the social contagion will eventually disappear. The bifurcation behavior arising from group interactions is investigated, when the enhancement factor exceeds a threshold, the system undergoes a backward bifurcation. This implies that R 0 < 1 does not guarantee the disappearance of social contagion, we also need to control the initial values of social contagion at a lower level. The optimal control strategies for the model are provided. Moreover, the numerical simulations validate the accuracy of the theoretical analysis. Under consideration is the possibility of constructing an almost periodic solution for one inhomogeneous system of linear differential equations with delay that is a linear function of the argument (time) under some assumptions about the right-hand side of the system. This solution is proved to be asymptotically stable. Also, we study the existence of an almost periodic solution to another system without neutral terms; in this event the solution is stable. In this paper, we establish a susceptible-infected-susceptible (SIS) epidemic model with nonlinear incidence rate and time delay on complex networks. Firstly, according to the existence of a positive equilibrium point, we work out the threshold values R 0 and λ c of disease propagation. Secondly, we demonstrate the stabilities of the disease-free equilibrium point and the disease-spreading equilibrium point by constructing Lyapunov function and applying delay differential equations theorem. Thirdly, four different control strategies are investigated and compared, including uniform immunization control, acquaintance immunization control, active immunization control and optimal control. Finally, we perform representative numerical simulations to illustrate the theoretical results and further discover that the nonlinear incidence rate can more accurately reflect individual psychological activities when a certain disease outbreaks at a high level. The nonlinear delay differential equation with exponential and quadratic nonlinearities is considered. It is assumed that the equation is exposed to stochastic perturbations of the white noise type, which are directly proportional to the deviation of the system state from the equilibrium point. Sufficient conditions for stability in probability of the zero and positive equilibriums of the considered system under stochastic perturbations are obtained. The research results are illustrated by numerical simulations. We consider stage-structured population models of intra- and inter-specific competition at immature life stages. A prototype delay model is derived for a single species that experiences larval competition. Its solutions are bounded for any birth function. Other ways of modelling the birth rate can lead to nonlinear integral equations. In some situations the technique of reducing an age-structured model to a system of delay equations applies. In the case of immature competition the delay equations cannot always be written down explicitly because their right hand sides depend on the solutions of the nonlinear ordinary differential equations that arise when one solves the nonlinear age-structured equations that determine the maturation rates in terms of the birth rates. This situation arises in the case of competition between two strains or species. We model indirect transmission, via contact with viruses, of avian influenza in migratory and nonmigratory birds, taking into account age structure. Migration is modeled via a reaction-advection equation on a closed loop parametrized by arc length (the migration flyway) that starts and ends at the location where birds breed in summer. Our modeling keeps the birds together as a flock, the position of which is implicitly determined and known for all future time. Births occur when the flock passes the breeding location and are modeled using ideas of impulsive differential equations. For a migratory species the model derivation starts from age-structured reaction-advection equations with location-dependent parameters that describe local conditions. In the derivation of delay equations for the time-dependent variables representing numbers of juvenile and adult birds, these location-dependent parameters are evaluated at the flock's position, so that seasonal effects are captured indirectly but through rigorous modeling whereby we keep track of the flock's exact position and local conditions there. This paper is devoted to the study of a plankton-fish ecosystem model. The model represents the interaction between phytoplankton, zooplankton, and fish with Holling II functional response consisting of carrying capacity and constant intrinsic growth rate of phytoplankton. It is observed that if the carrying capacity of phytoplankton population crosses a certain critical value, the system enters into Hopf bifurcation. We have introduced discrete time delay due to gestation in the functional response term involved with the growth equation of planktivorous fish. We have studied the effect of time delay on the stability behavior. In addition, we have obtained an estimate for the length of time delay to preserve the stability of the model system. Existence of Hopf bifurcating small amplitude periodic solutions is derived by considering time delay as a bifurcation parameter. It is observed that constant intrinsic growth rate of phytoplankton and mortality rate of planktivorous fish play an important role in changing one steady state to another steady state and oscillatory behavior of the system. Abstract: In this paper, a delayed differential equation model that describes infection of thymus with HIV-1 is considered. We first investigate the existence and stability of the equilibria and then we study the effect of the time delay on the stability of the infected equilibrium. Criteria are given to ensure that the infected equilibrium is asymptotically stable for all delay. Abstract: This paper is concerned with the nonlinear stability of traveling wave fronts for nonlocal delayed reaction–diffusion equation. We prove that these traveling wave fronts are exponentially stable to perturbation in some exponentially weighted spaces, when the initial perturbation around the traveling wave fronts decays exponentially as , but the initial perturbation can be arbitrary large in other locations. Abstract: In this paper, effects of the synaptic delay of signal transmissions on the pattern formation of nonlinear waves in a bidirectional ring of neural oscillators is studied. Firstly, the linear stability of the model is investigated by analyzing the associated characteristic transcendental equation. Meanwhile, using the symmetric bifurcation theory of delay differential equations coupled with the representation theory of Lie groups, we discuss the spontaneous bifurcation of multiple branches of periodic solutions and their spatio-temporal patterns. Finally, Hopf bifurcation directions and corresponding stabilities of bifurcating periodic orbits are derived by using the normal form approach and the center manifold theory. These theoretical results are significant to complement experimental and numerical observations made in living neuronal systems and artificial neural networks, in order to better understand the mechanisms underlying the system’s dynamics. Abstract: This paper is concerned with the stability of -dimensional stochastic differential delay systems with nonlinear impulsive effects. First, the equivalent relation between the solution of the -dimensional stochastic differential delay system with nonlinear impulsive effects and that of a corresponding -dimensional stochastic differential delay system without impulsive effects is established. Then, some stability criteria for the -dimensional stochastic differential delay systems with nonlinear impulsive effects are obtained. Finally, the stability criteria are applied to uncertain impulsive stochastic neural networks with time-varying delay. The results show that, this convenient and efficient method will provide a new approach to study the stability of impulsive stochastic neural networks. This paper investigates the problems of stability analysis and stabilization for a class of discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems with time-varying state delay. Based on a novel fuzzy Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional, a delay partitioning method has been developed for the delay-dependent stability analysis of fuzzy time-varying state delay systems. As a result of the novel idea of delay partitioning, the proposed stability condition is much less conservative than most of the existing results. A delay-dependent stabilization approach based on a nonparallel distributed compensation scheme is given for the closed-loop fuzzy systems. The proposed stability and stabilization conditions are formulated in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which can be solved readily by using existing LMI optimization techniques. A five-dimensional delay differential system is proposed to describe oscillatory behaviour in microbial continuous culture. Stability and Hopf bifurcation are discussed, including the changing regularity of the bifurcation value. Abstract: In this paper, we construct a two-layer feedback neural network to theoretically investigate the influence of symmetry and time delays on patterned rhythmic behaviors. Firstly, linear stability of the model is investigated by analyzing the associated transcendental characteristic equation. Abstract: In this paper, we consider a Timoshenko system with a delay term in the feedback and prove a stability result. The beam is clamped at the endpoints and has, in addition to an internal damping, a feedback with a delay. Under an appropriate assumption on the weights of the two feedbacks, we prove the well-posedness of the system and establish an exponential decay result for the case of equal-speed wave propagation. Abstract: In this paper, Hopf bifurcation for a delayed SIS epidemic model with stage structure and nonlinear incidence rate is investigated. Through theoretical analysis, we show the positive equilibrium stability and the conditions that Hopf bifurcation occurs. Applying the normal form theory and the center manifold argument, we derive the explicit formulas determining the properties of the bifurcating periodic solutions. In addition, we also study the effect of the inhibition effect on the properties of the bifurcating periodic solutions. Abstract: A sex-structured mathematical model for heterosexual transmission of HIV/AIDS with explicit incubation period is presented as a system of discrete delay differential equations. The epidemic threshold and equilibria for the model are determined and stabilities are examined. The disease-free equilibrium is shown to be locally and globally stable when the basic reproductive number is less than unity. We use the Lyapunov functional approach to show that the endemic equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable. Abstract: In this paper, we consider a simple discrete two-neuron network model with three delays. The characteristic equation of the linearized system at the zero solution is a polynomial equation involving very high order terms. We derive some sufficient and necessary conditions on the asymptotic stability of the zero solution. Regarding the eigenvalues of connection matrix as the bifurcation parameters, we also consider the existence of three types of bifurcations: Fold bifurcations, Flip bifurcations, and Neimark–Sacker bifurcations. The stability and direction of these three kinds of bifurcations are studied by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. We consider networks of coupled scalar maps, with weighted connections which may include a time delay, and study the stability of equilibria with respect to the delays and connection structure. We prove that the largest eigenvalue of the graph Laplacian determines the effect of the connection topology on stability. The stability region in the parameter plane shrinks with increasing values of the largest eigenvalue, or of the time delay of the same parity. In particular, all bipartite graphs have an identical stability region, regardless of the delay or graph size, which is also the smallest stability region among those of all graphs. Furthermore, for certain parameter ranges, unstable (and possibly chaotic) maps can be stabilized via diffusive coupling with an odd time delay, provided that the network does not have a nontrivial and connected bipartite component. In this paper, we consider the complex dynamics of a novel mathematical model for a feedback control system of the gut microbiota, which was proposed by Dong, et al. The main work of the present paper is to study the effect of antibiotics injection on the gut microbiota through some dynamical methods, such as double Hopf bifurcation analysis and so on. We first use DDE-BIFTOOL to find the non-resonant double Hopf bifurcation points of the system, and draw the bifurcation diagram with two bifurcation parameters, τ 1 and τ 2 , i.e., respective measurement delays. Then we study small perturbations of two delay differential equations at these double Hopf bifurcation points, and the method of multiple scales is employed to obtain two common complex amplitude equations. By analyzing the amplitude equations, we can derive the classification and unfolding of these double Hopf bifurcation points. Finally, we verify the results by numerical simulations. We find more complicated dynamic behaviors of the system via analytical method. For example, there exists stable equilibrium, stable periodic solution or even the co-existing stable periodic solutions in respective region. And the numerical simulations are consistent with the analytic results, meanwhile it implies that the MMS is effective and accurate. All complex dynamical phenomena found in the present paper can be very helpful for the researchers to understand the mechanism of the system of gut microbiota. And it is also very significant to microbiology and engineering control. The emergence of rumors is subjective and aggressive which will bring disturbance and misleading to people's lives. This paper is dedicated to comprehensively investigating the influence of forced silence function, time delay and network topology on rumor propagation in online social networks. Considering the network supervision such as forced silence and network topology, a novel delayed SIR(susceptible-propagating-recovery) epidemic-like rumor propagation model in both homogeneous and heterogeneous networks is proposed. By using the mean-field theory, we analyze the propagation dynamics of the model in detail. Firstly, we demonstrate the boundedness of the solutions, then we obtain the basic reproduction number and the existence of the rumor-prevailing equilibrium points. Secondly, the forward and backward bifurcation as well as the local and global stabilities of the equilibrium points in both homogeneous and heterogeneous networks are theoretically analyzed and revealed. Finally, the possible impact is analyzed through numerical simulations, and the factors affecting rumor propagation are theoretically analyzed, which prove the validity of the theoretical analysis.
