Abstract

The article describes the case of a 58-year-old patient who presented with symptoms of progressively increasing dyspnoea and fatigue. It provides information on patient's medical background, the clinical presentation of the disease and the results of diagnostic imaging. The case suggests that pacemaker-related perforation can present with a life-threatening pericardial tamponade and that active fixation leads should be used cautiously in elderly patients.
