Cost and yield play a crucial role to make micro LED displays successful. Scaling up wafer diameter is one of the solutions not only because of lower cost per area but also because 200 and 300 mm diameter enable the use of precise and matured Si industry processes for higher yield. However, due to lack of large diameter GaN substrate, hetero‐epitaxy like GaN‐on‐sapphire or GaN‐on‐Si is necessary which causes strain issues because of large lattice and thermal expansion mismatch between GaN and substrate. In this paper, we describe strain issues and solutions of scaling up wafer diameter and demonstrate the latest excellent reproducible uniformity results of GaN‐on‐Si LED epiwafer properties on 200 mm and 300 mm Si substrates as an evidence of overcoming such issues. This review focuses on cationic starches with a low degree of substitution (<0.06) which are mainly used for production of paper-based products. After a brief introduction on starch in general, cationization pathways and importance of cationic starches in paper production, this review emphasizes on the analytical challenges from different perspectives. These include the different length scales of starches when in solution: the macromolecular level, their assembly into nm aggregates and finally hydrocolloids with hundreds of nanometers of diameter. We give an overview on the current state of the art on the analysis of such challenging samples and aim at providing a guideline for obtaining and presenting reliable analytical data. Fruit recognition and location are the premises of robot automatic picking. YOLOv3 has been used to detect different fruits in complex environment. However, for the object with definite features, the complex network structure will increase the computing time and may cause overfitting. Therefore, this paper has carried out a lightweight design for the YOLOv3. This paper proposed an improved T-Net to detect tomato images. Firstly, the T-Net reduces the residual network layers. This paper changed the number of cycles in each group of the residual unit to 1, 2, 2, 1, and 1. Second, two feature layers with different scales are selected according to the features of tomatoes. Meanwhile, the convolutional layer at the neck has been reduced by two layers. Finally, the location and approximate diameter of the ripe tomato are obtained by combining the node information of the Intel D435i camera and T-Net in the Robot Operation System. T-Net obtains mean average precision (mAP) of 99.2%, F1-score of 98.9%, precision of 99.0%, and recall of 98.8% at a detection rate of 104.2 FPS. The proposed T-Net has outperformed the YOLOv3 with 0.4%, 0.1%, and 0.2% increase in precision, mAP, and F1-score. The detection speed of T-Net is 1.8 times faster than YOLOv3. The mean errors of the center coordinates and diameter of the tomato are 8.5 mm and 2.5 mm, respectively. This model provides a method for efficient real-time detection and location of tomatoes. In this paper we study the fault diameter of the n-dimensional hypercube (or n-cube for short), Qn, for n ≥ 3. Let F be a set of hybrid node-faults and/or link-faults in Qn such that every node of Qn is still connected to at least one fault-free node by a fault-free link. Then we compute the exact diameter of Qn - F for |F| ≤ 2n - 3. As an immediate consequence, our result improves upon those presented by S. Latifi (1993), in which only node-faults were addressed. To enhance the uplift capacity and facilitate the installation of multi-row perfobond connectors at shallow burial depths, this study puts forward a novel notched T-perfobond connector. The design incorporates an integrated flange at the bottom of the connector and a notch at the edge of the hole. Through pull-out model tests on four notched T-perfobond connectors, this research investigates their failure mechanisms and pull-out capacities. Utilizing the explicit dynamics method in ABAQUS, a finite-element model of the pull-out resistance test for notched T-perfobond connectors is established and verified against experimental data. Furthermore, a detailed parametric analysis involving 54 models is conducted, examining crucial parameters such as rib dimensions, hole geometry, flange size, notch width, bar diameter, and material properties. Based on the combined experimental and numerical results, this paper assesses the suitability of current formulas for calculating the pull-out capacity of perfobond connectors and proposes a refined calculation method specifically for notched T-perfobond connectors. Purpose: This paper aims to study the influence of cylindrical texture parameters on the lubrication performance of static and dynamic pressure thrust bearings (hereinafter referred to as thrust bearings) and to optimize their lubrication performance using multiobjective optimization. Design/methodology/approach: The influence of texture parameters on the lubrication performance of thrust bearings was studied based on the modified Reynolds equation. The objective functions are predicted through the BP neural network, and the texture parameters were optimized using the improved multiobjective ant lion algorithm (MOALA). Findings: Compared with smooth surface, the introduction of texture can improve the lubrication properties. Under the optimization of the improved algorithm, when the texture diameter, depth, spacing and number are approximately 0.2 mm, 0.5 mm, 5 mm and 34, respectively, the loading capacity is increased by around 27.7% and the temperature is reduced by around 1.55°C. Originality/value: This paper studies the effect of texture parameters on the lubrication properties of thrust bearings based on the modified Reynolds equation and performs multiobjective optimization through an improved MOALA. (1) To address issues such as a low compression ratio and severe leakage in uniform wall thickness vortex compressors, this paper adopts a new scroll compressor model with a variable diameter double arc combined profile, which has a larger pressure ratio and smaller leakage than the scroll compressor with equal wall thickness that can bring new ideas and methods to the research in the field of scroll compressors. (2) This paper determines the theoretical equation of the variable diameter dual circular arc vortex profile and the combined profile, and infers mathematical models for the leakage line length, working chamber volume, and gas leakage per unit rotation angle of the vortex compressor, followed by simulation. (3) The results show that compared to the uniform wall thickness involute profile, the variable diameter dual circular arc combined profile model reduces the leakage line length by 25%, increases the average total pressure at the working chamber outlet by 2.38%, and decreases the leakage amount by 3.2%, consistent with theoretical analysis. (4) The tangential leakage caused by the radial gap in the variable diameter dual circular arc combined profile model has a significant impact on the uneven distribution of temperature and velocity fields in the working chamber of the vortex compressor, but a smaller impact on the pressure field. When a super-large diameter shield tunnel passes through a strongly karst-developed area, in order to ensure the stability of the tunnel and economy of karst reinforcement, the reasonable treatment range for a huge number of karst caves needs to be researched. Based on a karst treatment project of a shield tunnel with a diameter of 14.5 m, this paper studies the influence of intrusive fully filled karst caves on the stability of the lining and excavation face by using theoretical calculation. In addition, the safe distance between the tunnel and karst caves outside the tunnel is proposed through numerical simulation, and the corresponding treatment range is obtained. The results show that the bearing capacity of the lining has a certain reserve when the intrusive cave is smaller than a certain size, and the caves filled with plastic or hard plastic clay have sufficient antifracturing ability. Therefore, some small fully filled caves inside the tunnel profile can be left unreinforced. On the other side, the critical safe distance is only 1–2 m for the caves with a size of 3 m, so the outside caves with a size less than 3 m can be left unreinforced in the treatment range farther away from the tunnel. During the preparation and service of GFRP laminates, due to the influence of manufacturing process, it is easy to produce debonding defect. This paper expounds the basic principle and test process of infrared non-destructive testing, which using the Barker code modulation of the thermal wave to identify the GFRP laminate debonding defect. Through the establishment of infrared thermal imaging testing system, this paper studies its detection effect on defects with different diameter, depth and diameter-to-depth ratio, processes the image sequence by using principal component analysis and discrete Fourier transform algorithms, and finally calculates and compares the processed signal-to-noise ratio. The results show that Barker code modulated thermal wave infrared detection can detect the debonding defects of GFRP laminates. Among them, the detection effect of 13-bit Barker coded modulation excitation is better, and the image processed by discrete Fourier transform has better recognition effect. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

For a given graph G, the second Zagreb eccentricity index ξ 2 (G) is defined as the product of the eccentricities of two adjacent vertex pairs in G. This paper mainly studies the problem of determining the graphs that minimize the second Zagreb eccentricity index among n-vertex bipartite graphs with a fixed number of edges and diameter. To be specific, we determine the sharp lower bound on the second Zagreb eccentricity index over the bipartite graphs of order n in terms of fixed edges and diameter. This paper presents experimental and numerical studies on compression behaviour of equal-leg steel angles with bolted connection and subjected to local defect at the bolt hole. To simulate corrosion, a mechanical cutting method was used in the experimental test to increase the diameter of bolt holes, and a total of 18 steel angles were investigated in the study. The parameters considered included the slenderness and the diameter of bolt holes. The slendernesses of steel angles were 80 and 140, and the diameter of bolt holes ranged from 21.5 to 27.5 mm. Additionally, numerical models were established for the steel angles. The accuracy of the numerical model was verified by comparing experimental data with numerical results. Based on the validated numerical model, a parametric analysis was conducted to quantitatively assess the influences of the slenderness and the diameter of bolt holes on the load capacity of specimens against global buckling. Experimental and numerical results showed that the defect at the bolt hole affected the load capacity of specimens when the diameter of the bolt hole was increased to 27.5 mm and the slenderness was not greater than 100. Despite the process, solution, and ambient parameters of the electrospinning technique have been intensely studied, the effects of different setup orientations have not been thoroughly investigated. In many research studies, the attempts on electrospinning of polyvinyl alcohol have been performed with a horizontal electrospinning or researchers have not even mentioned the setup orientation. This paper examines the morphological properties of polyvinyl alcohol‐based fibrous mats electrospun with the same apparatus and identical process and solution parameters but with different working planes, namely, (x)‐axis, (+y) axis, and (−y) axis. From the test results, it is concluded that the (−y) axis is the most versatile working plane because fibrous mats have the finest nanofiber diameters with the lowest diameter variation, the medium‐level pore area with the smallest pore sizes. Besides, the highest packing density and highly deposited structure with the longest fibers with a high aspect ratio are constructed in this setup orientation. Extended simple regions have been the focus of recent developments in philosophical logic, metaphysics, and philosophy of physics. However, only a handful of works provides a rigorous characterization of an extended simple region. In particular, a recent paper in this journal defends a definition based on an extrinsic notion of least distance. Call it the Least Distance proposal. This paper provides the first assessment of it. It argues that Least Distance faces difficulties and drawbacks. The paper then goes on to suggest a different proposal, the Diameter proposal that is able to handle such drawbacks and difficulties. Some very useful methods for suppressing the flow-induced vibration (FIV) of a single cylinder are known to potentially have a limited efficiency for tandem-arrangement cylinders. In this paper, three splitter plates uniformly attached around a cylinder with an angle of 120° are proposed to suppress the FIVs of both a single cylinder and two tandem-arrangement cylinders in a wind tunnel at Re = 4000–45,200. The splitter plates' length to diameter ratios, L/Ds (where L is the length of the splitter plate and D is the cylinder diameter), are set from 0.1 to 0.8. The results show that the proposed method not only effectively suppresses the vortex-induced vibration (VIV) for a single cylinder, but also successfully mitigates the wake-induced galloping (WIG) for two tandem-arrangement cylinders. The vibrations of the single cylinders are effectively suppressed, consistently achieving suppression efficiencies over 95% for L/Ds = 0.2–0.8, with a notable peak efficiency of 98.4% at L/D = 0.2. For the two tandem-arrangement cylinders at S/D = 4.0 (where S is the center-to-center spacing between the two cylinders), the suppression efficiencies of the upstream cylinder exceed 96% for L/D = 0.2–0.8, with an optimal efficiency of 97.4% at L/D = 0.6. The downstream cylinder exhibits vibration only at L/Ds = 0.1, 0.2, and 0.4, resulting in suppression efficiencies of 80.3%, 67.1%, and 91.0%. The vibrations remain fully suppressed throughout the entire reduced velocity range for L/Ds = 0.6–0.8, reaching an optimal efficiency of 98.7% at L/D = 0.6. Three regimes of fs/fn characteristics can be classified for the single cylinder, and the wake structures show that shear layers develop along the front plate before attaching on the cylinder and are then offset to either side of the cylinder by the two rear splitter plates, contributing to the absence of periodic vortex shedding. This paper presents experimental investigations on buried Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) pipes with a diameter of 1400 mm. The tested pipes were buried in dense, gravelly sand and subjected to traffic loads to study the effects of backfill cover on pipe deflection. The experimental program included tests on three GRP pipes with backfill covers of 100 cm, 75 cm, and 50 cm. The maximum traffic loads applied to the pipe–soil system corresponded to Iraqi Truck Type 3 (AASHTO H type). Vertical deflections of the pipes were monitored during the application of these loads. The experimental results showed that, as the backfill cover increased, the maximum vertical deflection of the pipe decreased. Deflection reductions were 38.0% and 33.3% when the backfill increased from 50 cm to 100 cm and from 50 cm to 75 cm, respectively. A 500 mm compacted backfill cover was found to be sufficient to resist traffic loads, with the vertical deflection percentage remaining below the allowable limit. Additionally, the behavior of the GRP pipes under different traffic load configurations was analyzed using finite element (FE) analysis with Plaxis 3D. The model was validated using field data. The study investigated numerous variables impacting the behavior of embedded pipes, including pipe material, pipe thickness, backfill properties, backfill depth, and the properties of the soil beneath the GRP pipe. Due to their characteristics, Caragana Korshinskii bars are prone to be crushed by kneaded crushed material, and the kneaded crushed material is prone to clogging the sieve, thus affecting the crushing effect. In this paper, we use the Caragana Korshinskii special hammer crusher to carry out the Caragana Korshinskii cutting and crushing test to study the influence of Caragana Korshinskii diameter, cutting length, and moisture content on the crushing effect of Caragana Korshinskii, and obtain the best process parameters through the response surface method. The results were as follows: When the diameter of Caragana Korshinskii strips was in the range of 6–9 mm, the length of the cut section was in the range of 4–8 cm, and the moisture content of Caragana Korshinskii strips was in the range of 10–19%, the Caragana Korshinskii strips crushing effect was the best, and the kneading situation was the lowest. The optimal Caragana Korshinskii crushing effect was achieved when the diameter of the Caragana Korshinskiibar was 6.5 mm, the length of the cut section was 8.4 cm, the moisture content was 19%, the sieve rate of 2 mm was 46.15%, the sieve rate of 4 mm was 66.32%, and the length of the kneaded wire was 3.3 cm. The experimental environment of the JUNO is a spherical container filled with a liquid scintillator (alkylbenzene) with a diameter of about 35 m. To observe neutrino interactions in alkylbenzene with photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) and to precisely measure the neutrino properties in this environment, it is necessary to design a high-precision localization system for the PMT device. In this paper, we report the design of an ultrasonic localization system with a symmetrical receiving array, based on the construction of an experimental setup that reproduces the configuration of JUNO's environment. We show through positioning consistency and accuracy measurements that the ultrasonic localization system has a high localization accuracy and can perform effective localization in an alkylbenzene solution with 98% purity.
