This study addresses the event‐triggered fault detection for a class of discrete‐time systems with unknown but bounded external disturbance and measurement noise. In order to save limited network bandwidth, an adaptively adjusted event‐triggered scheme is designed by considering the probability of system failure and the fault detection progress. Based on the event‐triggered system output, an H_/L∞ fault detection observer is well designed in finite frequency ranges, such that the generated residual is sensitive to injected faults and robust against disturbance and noise. Moreover, a novel zonotope‐based residual evaluation strategy is constructed to reduce conservatism by considering the impacts of external disturbance, measurement noise and measured error caused by event‐triggered scheme. This paper is concerned with the fault detection (FD) problem for discrete-time stochastic systems with limited communication. A filter structure is proposed to construct the residual model for fault detection. For the limited network resources, a novel event-triggered strategy is employed to decrease the amount of data that is transmitted from the sensor to the filter. With the consideration of stochastic model and limited network resources, a novel event-based method is designed to ensure the residual system is stochastically stable and satisfies the desired fault sensitivity level and disturbance attenuation level. Compared with the traditional FD method, the proposed design strategy can not only achieve the desired fault detection performance, but also save the limited network resources. This paper studies the problem of decentralized $${\fancyscript{H}}_{\infty }$$ fuzzy filtering design for a class of continuous-time large-scale nonlinear systems with time-varying delay. The considered large-scale system consists of several nonlinear subsystems with interconnections and state delays. Each nonlinear subsystem is represented by a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) model, and the state delay of each subsystem is assumed to be of an interval-like time-varying form. Attention is focused on designing a decentralized fuzzy filter such that the resulting filtering error system is asymptotically stable with a guaranteed $${\fancyscript{H}}_{\infty }$$ disturbance attenuation level. We firstly propose a two-term approximation method to transform the filtering error system into an interconnected formulation and reformulate the problem of decentralized $${\fancyscript{H}}_{\infty }$$ fuzzy filtering design in the context of input-output (IO) stability. Then, based on a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) combined with the scaled small gain (SSG) theorem, less conservative results are presented for the decentralized $${\fancyscript{H}}_{\infty }$$ fuzzy filtering design in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). This paper investigates the problem of H\infty filtering for polynomial-fuzzy-model-based discrete-time networked systems under an event-triggered scheme. A polynomial fuzzy filter is designed to estimate the control output. In order to reduce the data size transmitted in a network, signal quantization is managed via a logarithmic quantizer. A novel method is designed to guarantee a filtering error system to be asymptotically stable and to satisfy the desired performance. Furthermore, sufficient conditions developed via the method are represented as a sum of squares, which can be solved by SOSTOOLS. This article is concerned with the ℋ∞fault detection of discrete-time switched systems with distributed delays. By using the input–output approach combining with the small-scale gain theorem, a sufficient condition is established in terms of linear matrix inequality, which guarantees the fault detection system to be exponentially stable with an ℋ∞performance. Then, a solvability condition for the desired fault detection filter is also proposed. Finally, a numerical example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed theory.
