The article discusses a study which investigated the use of gene therapy in the treatment of cystic fibrosis. The study suggested that liposome-mediated cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator gene transfer may be a practical option for initial studies of gene transfer into cystic fibrosis patients. In the study, three subjects were randomized to low dose dioxyribonucliec acid and three to medium dose dioxyribonucleic acid.
