The article reports on the launching of a patient and prescriber education campaign by the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Urological Association in the U.S. The initiative is aimed at educating both the patient and prescriber populations about the risk of intraoperative floppy iris syndrome associated with the current or previous use of an alpha-1 blocker. INSET: Options for surgical management of IFIS are multiple.
