The dimensionality of a new learning style questionnaire (LSQ) was examined using a principal components analysis with an orthogonal rotation. While the number of dimensions found agreed with the hypothesized number, the composition of the dimensions was significantly different from what was hypothesized.

In spite of the fact that the JDI is one of the most widely used measures in the organizational sciences, there has been relatively little validation work done since Smith, Kendall, and Hulin's (1969) development of the JDI. This paper is an examination of the psychometric characteristics of the JDI and other inventories of job satisfaction across a sample of validation studies. Like most other measures in the behavioral sciences, the construct validity of these inventories is modest. Although this problem may minimize the applicability of certain statistical techniques with job satisfaction data, the problem can be corrected through the proper application of structural equation models. Although this problem may be corrected statistically, the need for collateral work on the further conceptual development of the job satisfaction construct is suggested.

The dimensionality of the Pay Satisfaction Questionnaire (PSQ) was examined using a principal components analysis with an oblique rotation and the parallel analysis criterion was used to determine the number of components to retain. It was found that the items which were supposed to load on the Raise scale instead loaded on the level and structure/administration components and that in fact a raise component did not exist. It was recommended that in the future researchers use more accurate methods to determine the number of components to retain and that they do not assume that the dimensions of compensation satisfaction are orthogonal.
